Dime definitely established himself with the best guitarists of the Metal genre. In my opinion, he ranks along side KK Downing/Glenn Tipton, Tony Iommi, Randy Rhoads.

I'm 41 years old and never knew this track existed, Randy had a huge influence on how I approached the guitar when I was learning in the early 90s... I've heard a lot of people attempt to pay tribute to Randy but everyone falls short somewhere leave me wanting more, this recording was Dimebag is the only thing that I've heard that I feel truly pays real tribute and with one of my favorite songs... I love how Dimebag kept the solo as original as possible and then improvised on the second half of the solo, something Randy often did with this song as well.

You can hardly tell the difference! I listened to Randy and then this. Pro players like Darrell are that good. Like a currency counterfeit. It's more than just note for note. You'd swear it was Randy playing it.

EyeShotFirst interesting. I never thought about that- it's a cool what if. Kinda like wondering what Megadeth would've sounded like with Dimebag or Slash- two real possibilities that could've been. I can definitely see Dime playing with Dave but Slash is a little harder to imagine.
