To me this shows musicianship. He's able to make infectious beats with one string and by drumming on his guitar and his soulful and incredible singing makes it even better. Sometimes simplicity is best
This guy is fantastic. It's amazing what a good musician can do, given very little to work with. When I used to jam with jazz guys, sometimes we did a head-cutting kind of thing that was a "one-chord challenge," which vamped a single chord with a turnaround to see how many ideas you could pull out without changes. This guy goes one further -- one string, one line, no chords. And it sounds fantastic.
This popped up in my recommendations, I don't know why and I have never heard of this man. I clicked on it out of curiosity with no intention of listening for the whole 11 minutes but did anyway. takes lots of talent to be able to entertain in such a simple fashion.

I just found Brushy today, and I am hooked. I love the feeling in his voice. And I really think the once string repetitive melody really adds to the sound.
People are missing the whole point in this guy's playing. It's not about the technical difficulty or virtuosity but rather just the soul coming out of this guy. I don't think this was supposed to be a technical display of his guitar skills but rather a show of music which is a combination of singing and playing.

I have said this for years when talking about Guitar playing, that the simple stuff can sometimes be the best.
The guitar he's playing is the little known Fender SJ-65S, made only for a few years around 1999.I have one. Sounds great with six strings!
