Laser Cut Earrings using Glowforge Basic

- This project video is basically about me making some laser cut earring using a glowforge basic. This is my first time making earring with my glowforge laser.

One thing you could try is to engrave a circle into the earring to recess the pin and give it a better hold.

Troy the Maker went with the plus, wanted faster speed and double warranty but didnt need the pass through slot or all day printing of the pro version.
how long did it take u to receive yours?
mizzpurdy4018 they seem to ship outta texas and im in san antonio on top of that bought the plus so it was about a week but earlier than est stated on website at the time.

Great Videos! Where do you get your acrylic sheets? I have a glowforge pro but ran out of material they sent me. is there anywhere else you get your raw materials other than glowforge? I think they are pretty pricey.

Were you concerned about using the glitter acrylic? I hear that if there’s anything reflective in the materials it could cause damage to the laser.
I heard that before, but I haven’t had any problems. Also I try to use painters take so the residue won’t get on the acrylic when it’s engraving or cutting. With that it blocks the reflective from the laser beam mirrors.

So are you use blue painters tape for your masking tape when cutting?
Yeah sometimes.
If material thickness is 3 mm and 3mm circle or design is cut and after that circle in keep vertical and cut with leaser machine ( making it two slices ) can be done.....? 1.5 mm and 1 .5 mm by making two partion

I love it! Where did you get your acrylic? It's thicker than the sample that comes with the glowforge. I need something like that.
It’s actually the same thickness 1/8” thick. I believe it looks thicker because of how small they are on the video.

@@lakeziat74 I have the Glowforge basic, but if you know any graphic software I would say get the plus or pro. I was doing tradeshows, business expos, festivals, etc..Lately, I have been doing custom orders through emails.

I was just wondering how long you had to wait for your glowforge? I've heard a couple people say they're amazing machine but they had to wait over a year for it to arrive
I order my Glowforge at the end of Nov 2018 and the website said 30 days before shipping, but I received mines in 10 business days. I believe the people that waited over a year had ordered their glowforge before they got he shipping problems fixed.
Troy what kind of glue do you use to attach the back?
I used e6000.

Around 1/4" inch.
