Nice!!! Do some more projects!!!!!
Thanks. I have some and more on the way.

Good video dude , currently trying to sort out the GlowForge Basic for my business. Living in the U.K though means a hefty import tax & shipping! Subscribed as well ^_^
Love the video! I wanted a glowforge but that price is crazy! As for ideas, idk if you have females in your life, I would to see some old skool jewelry, like some door knockers, bamboo earrings, earrings with name plates, etc. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks a Million! ✍🏾
THIS IS SO COOL. I need to go to sleep lol
Thanks a Million! I appreciate it. Got to get them Z’s in. Haha

Great Video, down to earth and professional post production..... I have the Glowforge too. If you like Jewelry, give dog tags a try.
joeg1117 Thank You. Great idea. Where’s a good place to get some dog tags from?
Am an artist and do my own jewelry but have been looking at working with 3D when I saw your video I laughed. Loved your honesty and you were so informative, now I have to figure out where would I vent the darn thing?
Thanks a Million!
Like to see making leather stamping tools LGW
Awesome videos. Please share the name and info for the local plastic stores. Thanks Troy- You Rock!
Thanks a Million! My local store is called plastic supply.
Beautifully done💕💫💕💫 new sub😊
Thanks a Million!
Hey I subcribed
Thanks a Million!
Liked that project a lot. Your video was one of the first that I saw that wasn't using the Glowforge stock materials. Did you have any troubles finding the right manual settings or was that pretty easy? Keep up the great work!
Thanks a Million! It was pretty easy I would select Glowforge settings as if I purschased from them and they work just fine.
Fade to B&W, "zero subs" LLLol
You got me, i subbed
Thanks a million!
Hey Troy, what software do you use and which Glowforge do you have? Thanks!
I use Coreldraw. I have the Glowforge Basic.
Very NIice job!! Would this machine be able to engrave onto and lazer cut on a 14kt gold 1.5mm thick plate to create a nameplate and does all things engraved need to be flat or can they have texture or slants?
No, it won't engrave on soft metals like gold.
I am going to purchase the GF as soon as I can figure out how to vent it. I do not have a window in the shop I lease. I will be waiting on your new vids.
Cool! I hope you’ll love it as much as I do. You can use my referral code to save some money glowforge.us/QWABAKFC Thanks
@@TroytheMaker you should be receiving your credit. Thank you for the referral code.
kim nicely Wow! Thank You so much! I hope you love your Glowforge as much as I do.
You kinda sound like Cleveland Brown but it’s a vibe
That's this "Down South" in me.
Looks good! I haven't brought machine as yet, but I am soon. I'm just doing research. I like your projects, but can you be more specific on sizes. thank you
Thanks a Million! I appreciate it more than you think!
That’s tight I want now lol
Thanks a Million!
How thick is that acrylic? And where did you buy the acrylic. It has a pretty cool effect, thanks for making the video
Thanks a Million! The acrylic is 1/8" thick and I got the acrylic from inventables. www.inventables.com/technologies/gold-mirrored-acrylic-sheet
Can you do an in depth review of your experience with your glowforge basic? I'd love to hear your experience with noise, smell, and overall performance. Do you use this machine to mass produce, or is it used rvery now and then?
I'm working on that video it is coming soon.💪🏾👍🏾
THM,
Which glowforge would you recommend? I am planning to do similar work that you have posted. Please advise?
ruclips.net/video/rbmSO4wkBFU/видео.html fast forward to 11:30
I like your channel. You deserve more subscribers. Can you tell me what lifetime does have your laser cutter?
You have to replace the laser tube at some point but I’ve been having Glowforge for 15 months now and it still going strong.
Newbie. How did it know what to engrave and what to cut?
Welcome. Its a vector file you send to the laser software to tell it what to do whether you engrave or cut. Check this video out ruclips.net/video/shoAfsCtF2Y/видео.html
That looks awesome, where did you get the acrylic from?
Thanks a Million! That black and white acrylic came from www.inventables.com but most of my acrylic come from a local plastic store.
Man i found you here too! I was gonna ask same question, lol
Cody Mullen stalker haha
Cool video, where do you buy your basic materials (acrylic)?
Thanks a Million! Most of my acrylic cone from a local plastic supply company.
Niiicee! How thick is the acrylic you are using ?
1/8"
i just found you. Does this cutter really work that good? Im thinking about getting one.
For the most part..yeah I haven’t had any troubles with mines and I have had mines for over a year.
Other than cutting faster and having a slightly more powerful laser, is there anything the Plus version can do that the Basic can't?
Ryan Niemer From my knowledge those are the only differences. I’m new to lasers that’s why I chose the cheapest of the three.
@@TroytheMaker I got ya. I have an Eleksmaker A3 Pro (Around a $200 diode style laser) that I've been learning the basics on before I would upgrade to a GF lol. Thanks man, and keep pumping out the videos to inspire others
Can you make a stamp for clay pottery? How would you do that?
That’s a great idea. Writing down now. Never thought of anything like that. 🤔
What is the backing on your acrylic adhesive or coating?
coating
Nice job! How long was the wait to get it after you ordered?
I appreciate it! It was about two weeks.
@@TroytheMaker Thanks! Pretty sure I'm going to get a Basic. I know there are a lot of lock-downs on the GlowForge and it ain't cheap, but the ease of use is a fair trade off, I think. Sort of like Apple products. :)
Great job! Can you tell me how many watts is your laser?
Thanks. It's 40watts
Troy how would u have made the hole at the other end as if in were making a Key Chain.??? ❤ How much was ur machine? (The Basic )
Check this video out: ruclips.net/video/yTjMcQxHvZ8/видео.html
Excellent content! How thick was that piece of acrylic?
1/8" thick acrylic
@@TroytheMaker Awesome, Thanks Troy!
Where I can get that kind of acrylic sheet that is two toned?
www.inventables.com/categories/materials/acrylic?utf8=%E2%9C%93&selected_filters%5BEffect%5D%5B%5D=2+color&selected_filters%5BEffect%5D%5B%5D=2+color+reverse+engravable
Oh cool! Thx. I needed up finding it and ordered some last week...I just wondered if you had a better place. Lol. What setting do you use for cutting/skoring on yours?
Hey TRoy thanks for the vids...just got my glowforge. It seems like if your not an artist and if you're not familiar w illustrator it's not easy to use. Any tips...im freaking frustrated man!1
Your more than welcomed. Not I’m far from a artist. I use coreldraw. A lot of people use Inkscape. RUclips has tons of tutorials Inkscape. Other than that I search for free files or buy files from other on Etsy. Hope this helps.
@@TroytheMaker thanks for getting back gonna check Esty!
Where do u buy the boards
Locally, Glowforge, and Inventables
Can you share the acrylic you used in the information on the video pls!!! I need it 😍
www.inventables.com/categories/materials/acrylic
Where do you buy your acrylic material
Mostly from my local plastic supply company, Glowforge online store, and inventables.com
Hey,what app do use for your design
I use coreldraw.
will this do cutouts on 1/4" acrylic?
Yes
what kind of software do you need to create what you want cut? Sorry for the bunch of questions, but very curious
Cynthia Pettitt You’ll need a graphic design program just to name a few: Inkscape, Gimp, Adobe Illustrator, or Coreldraw.
Lol....I subscribed the blk and white music part killed me🤣😫
How thick of acrylic can you cut with this? Thank you for this video....and I'm lost how part of the charm was white and back black, that's hot where did you get it?
Haha..I appreciate the sub. That part cracks me up too. I believe my Glowforge can cut up to 1/4” thick acrylic. The acrylic is black and the top layer is white, so when engraved into the acrylic it turns black leaving the white layer untouched on top.
www.inventables.com/technologies/white-on-black-laserable-acrylic-sheet
This was the answer I was looking for, Thanks Troy great video!
What material did you use?
I used acrylic.
What is the source for the black and white acrylic?
www.inventables.com/technologies/white-on-black-laserable-acrylic-sheet
Hi. I got a short dresser from ikea. Just an idea.
Augusta Simmons I’m gone look off into them. I brought from Ashley’s and I had to take it back. Haha
Hey! So I’m looking to buy a GlowForge since I’m currently designing acrylic invites but Outsourcing the printing portion. I wanted to know if it was possible to print or engrave with a color. For example I’ve gone on Pinterest and seen acrylic invitations with pastel flowers and different color designs. Can the GlowForge do that?
Yes, the Glowforge can engrave and cut on colored acrylics.
Thank you!
What is the 2 layer acrylic called? Where can I get it? May I ask
That’s what inventables.com call it two layer/color acrylic.
Troy the Maker Thank you so much Troy!
@@mailtojarriya Your Welcome!
LOL at 5:19
😂 That’s one of favorite parts too.
Can you do it on the front of Mac Pro on your next video ?
I am going to engrave on my MacBook Pro, but not until I upgrade my laptop. It should be sometime this year. Stay tuned.
Thx Bro keep the good work I like you channel 👍👍👍👍
Do u make 24 k gold for name latter also
No. This laser can’t cut or engrave 24K gold.
SO THE GLOWFORGE IS NOT A STAND ALONE PRODUCT (DO YOU HAVE TO BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET TO USE IT)?
Yes. It has to be connected to the internet whether it’s your computer or phone.
@@TroytheMaker That means that the machine is unusable by itself, next time save up and get an Epilog laser, or Trotec. Glowforge used cheap glass CO2 tube, the pressure will drop in 1-2 years and you are done. Epilog laser has a different type of CO2 laser tube, the pressure will drop but at much slower rate.
@@runtime1976 Thanks for the information. I'm still new to these lasers and have a lot of learning to do.
yeah, I think the GFBasic is a good place to start. Mine arrives soon 6/22. Looking at possibly a Boss machine in the future. Much more versital
Cost of machine
$2800

Barbara Hall Thanks. It’s a local store where I live that sell acrylic sheets.
👋 hi
✌🏾
It’s nice cutter, but it’s way too expensive and limited to a web based software and memory.
Troy the Maker, nice video but I didn't learn anything you just said it does this right here and you push this right here and then showed us a video. It is obvious you know what you are doing but I need to see the actual process from your computer system to the finished product..I am a little slow.
I appreciate your honesty. If this was my first time watching this video. I would be confused too. This was my first video uploaded to RUclips. Check out these videos I believe they are better for understanding. ruclips.net/video/D7kCB67fCzU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/FB3AxGrhtJU/видео.html
