Yesssss you sold me on this! I was looking to find out how I could add name plate necklaces to my business and your video is very easy to follow! Phenomenal job 💯💯👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
You just taught me something I was struggling with. Trying to get an outline without the laser trying to engrave or cut it because it's dark. Thank you!!
you are amazing I made jewelry with leather but more like pleather LOL does is cut the fake leather I make jewerlry pieces too and you have stepped it up with the knowledge. Keep up the good work the way you teach is straight to the point I LOVE IT!!!
Yes the Glowforge will cut and engrave on leather. I have been told some fake leathers produce harmful fumes when used in a laser so I would say you have to have a well ventilated area.
@@TroytheMaker Thanks Troy I am really really interested in getting the GLOW FORGE once my funds are right you will be getting props and another payment from me for sure. Keep up your amazing video's you will be hearing from me often LOL... (smile)!!
Hi Troy👋🏽! I first saw you on Social Media advertising for the Glow Forge and I told myself I was going to get me one of those. So today I was looking up vids on materials needed to make jewelry and guess who popped up....yes sir MR Troy, lol. I’m like I know him I know that face, let me check his channel out. And let me tell you the way you explained how to do your jewelry was thorough and it came out ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, I L❤️ VED IT!!🙂 You inspired me to invest in my own Glow Forge to help me make jewelry as well. Thank you for this vid and yes I already subscribed.😉👍🏽
Wow! I love these types of comments! These are the ones that keep me going. I appreciate it more than you think! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mines.
I'm getting a Glowforge and have watched a bunch of videos. I like your style of explanations and ease of following along. Therefore I will be using your promo code to purchase my Glowforge. Thank You
Hey Troy, great video! Love how you went through the steps on how you got the text to vector and how you added the holes for the chain, very helpful and impressive.
Another great tutorial. I’m new to this ... looking to make and sell jewelry using my GF., You introduced me to mirrored acrylic. I’m experimenting ... what type of glue do you use for mirrored acrylic ... e6000 is showing through mirror. Manufacturer said to use 3m double stick tape. Not sure it will work with small jewelry pieces. I want to glue mirrored acrylic to wood. Also ... what do you use to wrap and package mirrored jewelry so it doesn’t scratch while shipping? Thanks again!!!
Thanks. The mirrored acrylic I use have a solid colored backing. I use e6000 for backs and acrylic solvent for edges. Hope this helps. I haven’t tried 3M tape yet.
Omg I been looking around for something Like this for yearssssss! Do you have the Pro or the regular GeorgeFlow printer. Thank you so much! I have an understanding of everything. Keep making videos!
Looks good. Could you have extended the "i" in Christiana and then added a curved line or something at the top to make it look like an "i" when you cut it? Also do you take custom orders?
I have been watching your tutorials!! You make it seem so easy. I’m gonna order and was trying to decide which model to get. What do you have? I want to do jewelry and wood and metal monogrammed door signs. Thank you.
Troy, have you tried engraving on glass? Specifically bottles. Found some at Michael’s which are about 2” thick, close to a flask shape. About 3-4” in height. Thanks
I buy from a local plastic supply company. It saves on shipping. Everywhere I have search online seems to be around the same price. You find any please let me know.
Hi there ! Your videos are educational and instructive. I have a question and I would be glad if you answer. Can I make these necklaces you made with this machine CNC 3018 Pro Engraving Machine Kit ?
Hi I would like to know what laser printer you got and what materials you got to use to make that I didnt see a step by steps list like most youtubers do to guide us to get us started
I buy a lot from my local plastic supply store, Glowforge online store, and that mirror acrylics came from www.inventables.com/categories/materials/acrylic not sponsored.
Hey Troy, question for you. I am not a Corel user, but I am curious ....when you convert to curves you have a vector, so why do you turn into a bitmap to turn it back into a vector? I could be wrong but check your wireframe after you "convert to curves". Again curious and this could save you a few steps....maybe lol
I do that to add a "connector" for the jump rings. Sometimes the covert to vector removes the insides of certain letters like the O or B making it solid so making a copy and doing helps with those letters. I hope that make sense.
Hello Troy, first off I wanna say your chains are 🔥. But where did you get all of everything you need to make your chains like the machine you used to carve or cut it out or however it’s done i mean everything lol ?
Thanks a million! The material is 1/8" mirror gold acrylic. Check this video out to learn more about the machine. ruclips.net/video/rbmSO4wkBFU/видео.html
I use different settings for mirror acrylic than other acrylics. I use 160 speed, full power to cut, but if it is breaking because of cutting. I would make the design thicker in those think connecting pieces. I hope this helps.

do you have to pay for the font or something? because after i downloaded and uploaded it to Corel, it wouldn't let me save my final draft. it said the font couldn't be embedded

I want to buy a Glow Forge for jewelry making, do you know if you can use precious metals such as gold for name plates ?
No it will not cut gold, stainless steel, etc..
Do you know what will cut through gold?
It won't cut thru? But it will engrave it?
@@TroytheMaker It won't cut gold, stainless steel, etc but can it engrave those metals?

Good observation. What I ended up doing trying way after this video was connecting the dot to the line, but engraved in between to give it separation.
Awesome tutorial!!! Thank you for sharing!!! Where do you get the chain?
In the description. Thanks a Million!
You the best my brutha
A lot of trial and error.
You are so awesome! Love your jewelry.
Thank you so much!
Just ordered my materials, GF eta is Oct 8. Is that the original wrapping on your acrylic while it’s cutting?
Acrylic from GF yes. That mirror gold no. I masked it myself.
I really want to start making jewelry. But idk where to start. Where do I get the chains and other things to start? What should I use?
I would start with learning a graphic software like Coreldraw, adobe illustrator, or Inkscape (free). I use Coreldraw.
Thank you
Excellent.

Does the glow forge also cut metal?? I’m thinking about getting one because I wanna start a Jewelry business
No, it does not cut metal, but you and engrave on some.
Troy the Maker do you know a machine that can both cut and engrave?
Troy what version of Corel are you using? When I trace Bitmap it opens up a whole new Corel Trace program. Thanks!!
I use the Corel 2020 subscription base. When you trace it does open the trace feature but it is all the same.

Does it work well with a much smaller design?
Yeah but the small the mirror gold get it start to look transparent. I believe it how it made or something.
Hello Troy would like to know if u sold any of your jewelry and if so price ranges. Please
Depends on the design I have sold single charms from $10 to $100.
Troy, I enjoy your RUclips videos. I think, however, that you might enclude the Glowforge power and speed settings you use for your work. Great job!
Noted.
Hi. Just saw your video thanks for the info. I have a question, what material did you use to cover the acrylic while laser cutting?
Masking paper I got from amazon: amzn.to/3uF6Qyu
Thank you!
Do the chains tarnish after a while Troy?
Yeah. Especially if you sweat a a lot or get it wet.
Hi Troy,
I just got my Glowforge and my acrylic keeps messing up. What is on the top of your acrylic?
Check your setting and more importantly your design file. Masking paper.
If you don’t mind sharing where did you purchase that style chain from
