What software are you using? Is it the glow forge or a different software? I’m new to laser cutting and don’t have a glow forge but want a user friendly program. Thanks.

very nice... question: can you have the Glowforge leave the "inside" parts of the letters A and E (if that makes sense)?
I imagine you can select those portions in a program outside of glowforge, set them to a different color, and then in glowforge it will notice it as two different objects and you can set it to engrave the inside of the letters instead of cutting. Never used the glowforge but that's what people seem to do.
Do you not put a clear coat on the base or do you just leave it bare?

I can't answer I'm sorry. I don't believe you can but I'm not 100% sure.

I think the Cricut can cut wood however it is very thin wood and you would have to do many layers to achieve this look

So why wouldnt you just delete the name from the base file instead of "ignoring" it? Can I just delete it & be ok?

You can. I save all my files Incase someone needs a replacement letter. This saves me time when I’m doing a bulk order from having to go in and change the file for each name.
How do you get rid of the burn marks on the edges? All cutouts on plywood leave burn marks and handling the bits will leave black marks on your hands.
What do you do about that? :)
As an observation, Rainbow has 7 colours :D
Because it is a laser it is going to leave some burn marks on the edging. However, I have noticed that black marks that transfer to hands and other materials is because my settings were off I was going at too slow of a speed or too high of a power.
Hi can you tell me, how man mm is the plywood
We used 1/4 birch plywood from home depot for this. This material varied in mm depending on the season from .18 to .22 mm

Thanks for sharing this. Are both exactly in the same font size ? shouldn't the base be a bit bigger ? what are your experiences ?
Xnaarkhoo you could make the base slightly bigger. My experience is that the letters fit nice and snug and a bigger base isn’t necessary. This method saves material instead of having to cut a second time.

I do if it’s needed. Sometimes I don’t have to because it lays flat
I tried getting birch plywood from Home Depot but it won't cut for me. I've used all different power settings and speeds. Did you get indoor or outdoor birch plywood? Or do you have any suggestions?
