Man, I hope everything gets better. My Grandma was in a coma for an entire month and I was just watching her sit there mindless. I understand how painful these things are to go through.
Nicholas Katsikas As much as I love that line I don't think so there are so much better bars on 4:44. I think the reason it sticks is because it's just so blunt, but I respect you thinking that.
Tha Swami I think it's so great because of all the ways you can think of it and how he uses it as the perfect cautionary tale that gets to the point of the song
Keywan Bernard The Blueprint 3 is good and is his best solo album post-retirement that's not American Gangtser (which I consider to be Jay's peak lyrically), I have no idea why it's grouped in with the trash known as The Blueprint 2, KC, and MCHG. What We Talkin Bout through Empire State of Mind is one of Jay's best song runs.
so refreshing to hear jay go back to what made me love his music in the first place, and even then he's never been this personal for a whole album. Also, i think Myke would like the black album, the production is a little flashier but i dont think its too far off from 444, and jay was super focused on that one too
Dead End Hip Hop Peace, yea it's real.. j.just became 32 degree mason.was said.. so jewels get droped.. soo much going on.. kanye ,down.. dame down. . Jazzo out.. get a Jazzo interview..wonder how he look at things... stay up family...
"I'm not black, I'm OJ..." Feefo: okay. This shit bump in the whip. Myke C-Town: There's a deeper meaning to this. Wait, why do I like this. This is why when we go ahead and listen to an album, we spend more time on it because otherwise, we're lost like sheep. I told you we should have done this later on. What is this shit. It's your fault we had to do this earlier. See these fans, they just want this review up and early. They don't look for any deeper meanings and instead tell us their stupid conspiracies on this album. Same happened to To Pimp A Butterfly and DAMN. You guys literally knew NOTHING before I spoke out. Y'all just listening to that anime music that Melonhead like so much. WTF man. Why do I have to do this. It's seriously annoying. Like how I'm I supposed to tell you my opinion on this if y'all... Beezy: Nah, OJ is black. Kinge: I'm old. Stop calling me old. Jay-Z does not dissapoint here. I like this.
Jay- Z came into the game sharing knowledge. "Never argue with fools because people from a distance can tell who is who" I'm super happy with 4:44 and feel Hova finally got his "Common" album. "Truthfully I want to rhyme like common sense". Awesome review as usual peace and success to you guys.
Jay's flow over Frank's voice mixed with the sample on Caught the Eyes are ridiculous. "I sat down with Prince, eye to eye He told me his wishes before he died Now, Londell McMillan, he must be color blind They only see green from them purple eyes"
Rappatiligoe0419 Musically, lyrically, psychologically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally a superior work of art that's not given its just due. To me, it's like listening to a cross between Vol 1 and a (dare I say) LP Biggie would've recorded himself.
"Truthfully, I wanna rhyme like Common Sense/But I did five mil, I ain't been rhymin' like Common since" Funny how that line comes full circle 14 years later. Took him this long to make a conscious record, but I'm very glad he did and owned up to it. A bold and refreshing listen from front to back. Definitely gonna land on my favorite albums this year!
This is another one of my favorite channels. I watch almost everything you guys upload. For the past 6 years, you've entertained and enlightened us as an audience. You guys are great for the hip hop culture and community. We really do appreciate what you do. Thanks DEHH.
I'm glad Jay made an age/life appropriate album...he's not rappin like these youngtas, he's not trying to be who he was content wise when he was in a different mind state, he's being open and honest about alot of things....I totally respect this from him.
myke and Fantano hold similar opinions, this truly sounds like jay z on a stones throw release. think he really hit the mark with this release, a lack of filler, sharp no-id samples, mature and honest exploration of different themes.

That's the type of music i wanted to listen from Jay. No Pharrell-cowbell-corny-guitar beats...just straight soulful-jazzy feel. Way different from these others mainstream artists. Great album!
Dope album. Phonte, Oddisee, Budden, and loads others have done deeply personal albums, but it's great that a top a top 5 GOAT that can really exert influence and people listen has crafted this album. Much love to everyone involved in creating this album. Props to DEHH on the review. One love

Blah Blah Kanye is as cocky as it gets 😂 The difference is Kanye embraces it and wears it. He’ll tell you on and off the song he got more money than you. Other guys say they do it to “motivate”.
This is a dope album in my personal opinion I think this is a combination of Jay's maturity and I think Kendrick's work pushed him to make this type of quality
I fucks with DEHH heavy but their knowledge on Jay Z is so lacking. Beezy said the last time he heard Jay be this vulnerable was on reasonable doubt...What ?? You Must Love Me, Moment of Clarity, Where Have You Been, Momma Loves Me, Beach Chair, New Day etc don't exist ??? Mike talks like he only know of Jay's most popular tracks which admittedly can be pretty shallow and one dimensional and if that's the case I understand why his image of Jay is so misconstrued and wrong. The gems are in the albums. Feefo kinda touched on it but Jay has been talkin about these themes along the years. "Do you fool listen to music or do you skim through it?"
I peeped that but I don't feel like they touched on it enough. The thing with Feefo is he sometimes starts a point off well but always seems to get pressured to change his argument.

I love y'all dudes...and Sophie. Keep up the good work, and just know you guy are all spot on with your perspectives of the album. Jay is definitely a leader of the culture and he's still as impactful as always. And one last thing, IMO Blueprint 3, and Magna Carta holy grail respectively we're both very light in the content department. But music is subjective, and the time is now 4:44.
This album sounds like a MF album, like I LOVE the raw Madlib esque beats. This was the first album ive heard from Jay Z and I'm a fan, this shit is really good. Album of the year material honestly.
Nah man, this doesn't sound like madlib-DOOM album at all. More like Common-No ID album from the 90s but more personal & vulnerable. Plus No ID produced the whole thang
What I love about DEHH is that these guys actually take time to listen to an album multiple times and wait a few weeks before doing their review, so their opinion is more processed, in-depth, and authentic. Unlike those other reviewers on RUclips that'll do an album review on the day it just dropped, and spit out whatever they heard from the album on a base level
Jay went in on this project, he got very personal in this 1. He just didn’t blab on and on about his fame and power, he actually had emotional moments in the album like his Moms sexuality and him shooting his brother. Great work Jay another platinum album.
the videos on Tidal give that album so much more context and I'm basing this off of the little that I've seen. I actually want to sign up just to get a glimpse. He's got mad cameos from black entertainers divulging their personal obstacles in the industry. I can almost predict another documentary about his life being released.
OOOOH YEAH THIS ALBUM WAS WAAAAY BETTER THAN THAT MAGNA CARTA TRASH!!! GREAT SOLID ALBUM. MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I WAS MISSING SOMETHING WITH JAY. NEVER WAS A BIG FAN, BUT THIS WAS NICE!!!! NO I.D. IS A FUCKING MONSTER TOO!!!
S7at Blakk Yeah for real, I didn't think Jay had it in him still but he proved me wrong with the features leading up to this great album. The execution was perfect. 👌
Hov is the Hustla Jay-Z/Jigga is the Artist Shawn Carter is the Man The idea of Jay-Z died on the first track... any material we get going forward will most likely be from the mind of Shawn, not HOV, Jigga or Jay-Z
Best song on this album was clearly "Marcy Me" & Smile for the last verse! We need more Smile final verses from Jay! That was the the longest dope verse of the album. First verse on Marcy Me dope also! I liked him on Heaven from MCHG that's about it on there. Just need more Jay rhyming/sounding like he does on Drug Dealers Anonymous, Smile last verse, Marcy Me, Heaven!
True statement! These beats were made for jayz. See: this can't be life, where have you been, soon youll understand.... if you didn't listen to jay z growing up you won't get it...
This album caught me by suprise, Jay-Z has been soooo Lay-Z (I should see myself out) with his albums, verses and so on. Even Ice Cube took a break from movies to made a few DOPE new tracks, guess these mumble rappers have pissed on hip hop enough to wake up the LEGENDS! And the track with Frank Ocean was so damn good!
Myke admitted a while ago he had a bias hatred for Jayz ever since Vol3/Dynasty came out. He's said a few times that Jay's only good album was his 1st one
First DEHH vid I've watched since peeping you guys on Fantano's channel. God damn, you guys rock! As someone that was never a big jay z fan, I fuckin loved this album. I feel like he went into his project knowing it wouldn't be a big radio hitter, and he was at a time in his life where he could look at the mistakes he's made along with how he's achieved success. I feel like I've met the annoying kid at my school and had a long deep conversation with them, and now I'm no longer annoyed by them and understand them so much better. Such a cool feeling and something I would never expect from a money hungry big homie like Jay. I love everyone's insights on this, gonna binge all your content now, keep kickin ass and bein awesome! :)

Tha Swami I think it's so great because of all the ways you can think of it and how he uses it as the perfect cautionary tale that gets to the point of the song
Perfect example of a line not having miracle lyrical wordplay but is still great
A rapper like Eminem would’ve tried to make it some triple entendre , rhymed 29 syllables and some wordplay and ruined the whole bar lmao

Blank Face the snare annoys the shit out me for some reason

Blank Face that and 4:44 were stuck in my head all last week
Benji Franklins Music it's definitely a trap snare.
I'm really wondering why no producer has used Feefo saying "Bumps in the whip" as a beat tag. Feefo start branding bruh
CASSO BLVCK y don't you do it then

This is definitely one of the best Hip Hop projects of the year, love to put this on when I'm reading or studying since it's really relaxing.
He went at future because future said jay wouldn't have blown up had it not been for Pac and big' s passing.
Simmstar great point. Forgot about that.
He’s right though
He's kinda right tbh
Dumbass shit future could’ve ever said...I would’ve thought he was a kid saying that but I understand why he could be upset about it
He’s kind of right. Without PAC and Big out of the picture the throne was open
Best Jay Z album since American Gangster.
This just might be a top 5 jay album, after reasonable doubt, blueprint, American gangster and the black album
Raphael Carmo oh it's true, it's damn true

It's probably because Patrons get early access, so some have viewed it while it was locked.
I would love to see Mycke on Everyday Struggle shit would be dope.
UnadulteratedRAShit Those Mycke and Joe yelling matches would be legendary
Jorge Dumas Especially over Jay because Myke doesn't like or get Hov at all and Joe is a Jay stan
UnadulteratedRAShit Everyday Struggle is not a good show
last couple episodes have been boring af, shit is too repetitive
You know that ain't gon happen...
The production on this album was amazing.
Nana Gyambibi NO I.D. homie
Jay went at Future because he said No one cared about Reasonable Doubt when it dropped until after Biggie and Pac died
Since when has future's opinion mattered in lyrical rap

Been waiting for this review. Didn't disappoint at all. This album is direct, mature, and well crafted. Not too long and to the point.
Fastest DEHH review ever
Stretch GotIt they got tidal 😂😂😂
Aboood165 flower boy had leaked 1 or 2 weeks early or so but they kept in the review out of respect.
Myke is looking at this from a biased pov. Jay always dropped gems, always been introspective, the braggin is just to keep weaker MCs at bay
l l as he should. Y’all love Kanye for the same thing
Blah Blah Kanye is as cocky as it gets 😂 The difference is Kanye embraces it and wears it. He’ll tell you on and off the song he got more money than you. Other guys say they do it to “motivate”.
If you always get Jay-Z's albums as "look at all my money" you've never made sense of his rhymes or verses or songs.
Consistent production had me locked in on Hov. Dope review DEHH

Good Job with this one DEHH
can we get a Big fish theory review?
Lillard 2Clutch It's probably coming, they take their time to review shit.
also 2chainz review
I was waiting for this review 👏
I've already heard Family Feud on the radio several times driving to and from work.
You guys are good!!! Love Y'all
surprised nobody said anything about No I.D. producing the whole album and being Kanye's mentor
Good review, enjoyed every second of this. Thanks for the post.
Hov is the Hustla
Jay-Z/Jigga is the Artist
Shawn Carter is the Man
The idea of Jay-Z died on the first track... any material we get going forward will most likely be from the mind of Shawn, not HOV, Jigga or Jay-Z
4:44 gave us the Jay we have wanted since American Gangster.
It's as if they haven't heard Kingdom Come. That was the real prelude for 4:44 type album.
Kingdom come was overhated. It wasnt his best, but nowhere near as bad as everyone says it is. Lost ones is still one of his best ever songs
exactly I love that album ppl didn't like the single and was looking for more bangers but they missed out on a great album @@eyecontrol4900
True statement! These beats were made for jayz. See: this can't be life, where have you been, soon youll understand.... if you didn't listen to jay z growing up you won't get it...
This is my new favourite Jay-Z album. It has the most replay value out of all his albums for me. Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint are up there too.
And the track with Frank Ocean was so damn good!
yes been waiting for this. i agree with all yalls opinions on this one.
No Big Fish Theory review?
This right here is a classic review for the Classic 4:44 🔥👏
Mike hasn’t really listened to a Jay Z album. Ever. Feefo hit the nail on the head. 10:55
