      Ya I here you! Those Plano edge latches are such an improvement! Gonna slowly start replacing my regular waterproof boxes with those

    I liked to see the sink test on the new Edge box. Put a sheet off paper inside fill up your sink.
    The old one's claimed to be waterproof, but their not. They also do not float.

    I wish Plano would sell the rubber mat as an accessory. I'd grab a couple and cut them into custom size sections. As well as the for mentioned mod in the "comments" snipping out of a row or two and add it to one side of my 3600 flex, as well as a row of jig dividers. Plano has addressed this issue with another style of this box that's slightly deeper and the rubber mat has a row of short spikes every second or third row. The longer spike looks as if they are marked halfway down for custom cutting.

    How has the Plano edge held up over tome? Do the yellow "spikes" get bent out of shape over time? Can it hold as many hard baits as a normal 3700 series box?

    • @MesquiteOutdoors
      @MesquiteOutdoors  4 года назад

      Brutal Boost thanks for watching! So I usually only like to take 1 box for my hard baits on my kayak so I ended up just using the regular Plano edge 3700 box. The yellow spikes were good with small baits but they couldn’t handle some of the larger hardbaits I like to use. So ya I think the regular 3700 can hold more but it’s a nice product if it meets your needs

    Hi from Germany, I want to know whether the box is also suitable for Rapala Jigging Raps!?

  • @gerardhaubert8210

    What about lipped cranks eg Rapala, etc

    • @MesquiteOutdoors
      @MesquiteOutdoors  4 года назад

      Ya small to medium lipped should work. I don’t think big deep divers would fit

    My impression from watching a ton of these Plano tackle box videos is the consistent complaint that you cant shove a slightly larger bait or one with a big bill down into the pegs without the bait squeezing back up to the top. I dont think this has been well understood. Firstly, being able to hold baits upside down isnt a thing for me, I dont ever tip them over and shake them, so the ability of the pegs to hold the bait is not a requirement or even a design feature. The bait is held when you close the lid, thats all you need. Open the lid and pick the bait out. It doesnt need to stay shoved down into the bottom to work, and I don't think the design says that. Otherwise, good review.

      Hey thanks for watching and commenting! I was really hoping these boxes would work for me but I just ended using the regular Plano edge 3700 box to hold my hard baits. I mostly fish from a kayak so I like to keep the number of tackle boxes to a minimum. It would have been nice if these boxes would have work for the variety of hard baits I like to keep in one box

    Thanks for the vids! I'd appreciate a little help if you can! Here at SPI what would you say are good spots for winter fishing?

    • @MesquiteOutdoors
      @MesquiteOutdoors  5 лет назад

      Hey thanks for watching! Sorry for the late response. In the winter I've actually fished the most in South Bay it's a long paddle/peddle but I've had good luck. If you look on Google maps there lots of drains/channels on the edges by the mangroves. I've never fished near the island during the winter but I would imagine near the edges and in the channels channels on the bay side of SPI should be really good as well.

    Use a rubber band to connect the hooks together....prevents tangling

    i use the dividers on that water proof box and place only one lure of its size and had never had a problem with it.. but yes its all about personal preference.. i was laughing at the commercial tho lol!!

    • @MesquiteOutdoors
      @MesquiteOutdoors  5 лет назад

      Ya for sure I've always just kind of put all my hooks and lures in a 3700 bit I'm I'm excited to use the normal Plano edge 3600 and 3700 cause the dividers are legit and easier to use.

    Water resistant is good enough, unless youre planning on putting it underwater, or using it while wade fishing.

      Ya really wish it would have fit. It’s a good box just doesn’t fit the assortment of lures I take out. Don’t want to take too many boxes

      Customizable ideas like these are what intrigues me about this Flex series. I wish Plano would sell the rubber mat as an accessory. I'd grab a couple and cut them into custom size sections. What size crankbaits does the Plano box hold

    • @MesquiteOutdoors
      @MesquiteOutdoors  4 года назад

      Small to medium size crankbaits. Your mileage will very once you get to bigger baits. I don’t think this particular model would hold big deep diving crankbaits very well

    after a couple of days the baits start lifting and get loose. Had one and returned it. No good. Got the samaki with the foam inside

      Which one are you referring too my friend? Ya I just ended up using them for tackle storage at home. Didn’t work as well as I wanted them too. I’m using the normal edge 3600 and 3700 with dividers and those are working well for me
