Good information. But not exactly right. You can change J1 -> GreenCard via employment without H1B. I did it. I came to the U.S. on J1 trainee visa(1.5 years long) and my employer petitioned me directly for green card while I was interning with them. The caveat is that not every employer will agree to go through this process without knowing you well. You should prove yourself to be valuable worker from the very beginning and you need to convince your employer to start this process. But this is definitely possible and doable.

Hmmm transfer can be done without changing a sponsor. You can talk to them but I know a lot of teachers who are not allowed to do so. It will be a difficult path to change sponsor. I think you may need to go back to PH.

If you marry a US citizen and have a waiver, yes but not all can do that.
If you have a child, your option is to get a waiver and apply for H1b.
