  • I recently bought the Hook Anacapa Mid GTX in black from REI. I've never tried Hoka shoes, but I've seen tons of people wearing them. I do a full review of these hiking boots, I compare them to other hiking boot that I've been wearing and loving for many years. I take the boots on a hike, work out and use them for a full week on this review. Let me know if you have any questions. Make sure to subscribe and watch our other videos! Remember to get outside, and make a memory!

I own both pairs of shoes myself. I like the HOKA for urban cement walking, and the Timberland for woodland/hills/mountain hiking.

I agree, the Hoka are I think one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever had haha

@Blasquezadventures The reason I don't like to use the HOKAS for Mountain or Woodland hiking is because they are too spongy, and I feel off-balance with them. For negotiating tree roots and rocks and rubble, I need to get a sense of my connection to the ground so that I can be responsive. All that spongy bouncing makes me feel reactive versus responsive.

Hi Juan, great video, and great channel...I've subscribed. Have you had any issues with the mid to upper lace prongs? I've purchased these (not from REI :( ) so I can't really put them through their paces, but I'm undecided. Do you still like them 5 month in?

Hey thank you!! I haven’t had any issues with the lace prongs. I still like them but I’m switching shoes to something more barefoot feel. They are soooo comfortable but they have so much cushioning that it might be making my legs a little weak. But that’s because I have some issues so I doubt you’ll be encounter that.

¿Which are your thoughts after 5 months using your Hokas?????

I love them, I wear them A LOT, take them to the gym too and the sole seems to have a lot of life left. The one thing that sucks is that they freaking stink, I have to wash them often, changed the insoles and they still smell, they don’t have air flow because they are water proof. I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with the odor, but they are still some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned.

@@Juan-Blasquez So they result to be smelly Hokas. I will use wool socks 🧦 expecting to avoid it. TNX from CDMX.

I think they are true size, the outside but the outer shell is freaking big.
