FlyRyde no on my 04 Chevy 2500 HD. My DRL and marker/ signal light are separate bulbs in one light assembly. I want both bulbs to be signal and marker but only the original DRL to stay as DRL and of course do it all with Dutch back bulbs. I was just over complicating making the single function DRL into a switchback
Came across your channel a couple weeks ago. Love your content and i have learnt alot. I was wondering if you can do another vid going more in depth into the way you wired the switchback bulb and what each wire leg does as i saw you broke one off. Im planning to try this method soon. Thanks!
U just gave me a idea for my ride. Turnsignals and reverse lights
You can build the same type of circuit with a 7440 bulb (or any single function bulb really) using a 5pin relay wired to parking and running. Albeit only one color.

@@flyryde nope, a Mini Cooper S, right now working on Neopixel switchbacks with arduino or ideally Attiny85 to save on space, maybe nRF24l01 to control them from one point

So I've got a 2012 Jetta and if I wanted to do this to my fog lights it would be reversed wouldnt it?? The 3rd wire would be to the Amber pin and piggybacked off the turn signal on the head lights??

Kinda off topic bro but have you ever tried black chome inside the headlights instead of flat black?
I have tried this on a 350Z headlight build for a guy using Smoked Chrome Duplicolor Metalcast, It looks cool if you don't use too much.
The only downside to these spray tints on top of chrome, is you can’t prep the chrome with any type of adhesion promoter if you want a super strong bond. Doing so gives a much cloudier result. If you want a perfect mirror finish, you just spray it on without prep, which can eventually lead to peeling later.
My experience has been good and bad with it. Great video topic to cover soon tho! I have a few ideas for new methods.

It will still be reflective like a colored chrome. I know that Duplicolor offers a clear adhesion promotor but I've never used it, sounds like Chris says it clouds results. When I use Metalcast I just be sure to clean the shit out of the chrome with dawn dish soap and sponge to get any grease or dirt off that leads to peeling and poor adhesion. Personally I really like the paints, Ive got the whole set!
