Another Danish connection in this year's TdF: Tomorrow's stage ends in Cahors, which is the place of the ancestors of the prince consort of Denmark, who died a few years ago.
Woow,Vingegaard slowing down to wait for a crashed Poga is the most sportsmanship scene ever in the history of the tour, what a tactical masterclass by Jumbo Visma,Van Aert was massive, Jonas was amazing
Meh, he had no reason time-wise to accelerate and he needed someone to rotate pulls to save energy. Accelerating would have been the most foolish move in the entire race.
Jonas and Poga are not just amazing riders, but also amazing humans, great athletes and so much respect for each other. These two guys are just the best of the best, high-class sportsmanship and the best talent. I am so thankful and lucky to being able to see the best riders the Tour the France has have in 100yrs and I am not exaggerating, just look at the time gaps in the GC contenders WoW. Wow! I never expected this stage to finish like this. Pogacar is human after all. But great to see he and Vingegaard are friendly and respect each other & sportsmanship. And van Aert rode the stage of his career! Excellent TDF this year, and I really appreciate these highlight videos, as I just don't have the time to watch full stages anymore like I could back in the 1980s and 90s.
Crazy TdF so far, really digging it. Glad to see TJV finally having some success albeit I was hoping for Roglic to get his redemption. WvA is too strong, but a bit disappointed that VdP isn't there to challenge on some of these punchy stages.
It would never have been possible for Roglic to win he’s not close to Vingegaards level when they have to climb for real, but to help the team he would have been important. @@dfuher968 That might be a nice consolation prize for him although there should be no doubt the Super Combatif should go to Wout van Aert. I've never seen anything like it. He's been everywhere. Dominating.
I feel bad for Geschke. He was closing gaps trying to make it to the getaway group, but not a teammate in sight to help him. All he needed was 4 th place on d'Aubisque.
WvA is really something. The greatest domestique if I may say. Going for the attack, then pull Jonas in the climb, and finish 3rd? And he ain't even a full climber🔥 He's an absolute beast.
Re-watching this I noticed Vingegaard didn't actually slip on gravel. He put his inside foot down on the turn and caught his toe on the pavement. Even the pros can make a rookie mistake.
Yeah, they were really pushing each other. Jonas rushed the pedalling just a fraction of a second there, and Pog mistimed the turn and made another rookie mistake of trying to turn the wheel while sliding in gravel. Thankfully they both got out of it!
Yes. In this situation, I think not simple rookie-type mistake, but more a demonstration of how close to the edge he and Pog are in competing --- that he's trying to resume pedaling before coming far enough out of that curve.
Really good sportsmanship by Vingegaard after Pogacar‘s fall. Nevertheless it was probably the nail in the coffin of Pogacar‘s dreams to win the tour once more. However if we are realistic the chances were already very slim after yesterday and Vingegaard was incredible.

Amazing display of sportsmanship and respect to allow Pogacar to catch up and resume his position after a spill. Vingegaard could have picked up at least another minute if he had continue to ride. At the end Vingegaard wants to win as a gentleman instead of taking advantage of some misfortune... If the world could follow such gentlemanly, respectful sportsmanship -then the world would be in a more peaceful coexistence.. Maybe politicians could take note of how Vingegaard Danish value on humility, fairness, respect, honor could rule humanity. Fabulous example for youngsters to follow suit
What a very impressive show of sportsmanship and respect on behalf of Vingegaard today!!! A TRUE champion and gentleman!! For some reason I feel that Pogi would NOT have done what he did today. Something tells me Pogi would have continued descending at speed. I could be wrong but we will never know. I'm old school and believe in the old school ways and you should not attack on a mechanical or a crash BUT part of me also feels like if you crash on a descent on YOUR OWN it is YOUR OWN fault therefore it is OK to continue at speed. I'm honestly a bit torn about this one but I'm just not sure Pogi would have done the same. I feel he would have continued descending at speed.
@@kenkaniff8428 at the end of the day, true sportsmanship and fair competitor would have waited. Although crashing is one's own mistake, but to allow Pogacar to regain his position will be one of the best example of gentlemanly ultimate sportsmanship.
@@chaoyoong9987 I agree completely but I'm just not sure Pogi would have done the same for Vingegaard tho
GCN does stage highlights so much better than its competitors. Just need to point that out. What a great video!
watch lanterne rouge, he is exceptional too
Other than Lanterne Rouge.
@@jsclimber91 lantern rouge is much better and he has really good insight but I do like GCN aswell.
Even better than the official TdF channel.
@@jsclimber91 Lanterne Rouge cuts out every single breath so his videos are just non-stop talking
Vingegaard was waiting Pogacar while Tadej was catching up... Enormous respect and applauses!
What a stage. What a race. Best TdF in years. So many stories. Grand Depart in Denmark, Magnus Cort (including stage win) Mads Pedersen dropping Ganna and Küng, Hugo Houle, (💔❤) Pogacar attacking again and again, Jumbo Visma team spirit, UAE team spirit, Grenon, Hautacam, Little Jonas dropping one of the best riders of all time TWICE. And much more. Fantastic stuff.
Simon Geschke in the Polka Dot Jersey has to be mentioned ;) great ride from him, sadly didn't work out.
@@nordictalking2487 Im hoping, they will give him Super Combatif in Paris, he defo earned it, but he isnt French....

What a great sportmanship shown by Vingegaard! Salute!
I am 50 years old, i follow the Tour de France since i m a kid and i can t remember a better one and most exciting than this one.., just breathtaking thanks to Pogacar, Vinjegaard and van Aert 👍💪
I love seeing riders wait ESPECAILLY when their rivals didn't wait for them. I think Tom Dumoulin waited for Nairo Quintana in the Giro few years ago even after Nairo and his team refused to wait for him. Hat's off to Vingegaard!
TJV has a fantastic culture and vibe - allround great bunch of guys
Did the opposite happen, where Pogacar dident wait?
@@Alpehuedk Hard to tell if it was just timing or what but when Vingegaard's wheels almost went out from under him on the descent and he had to unclip, Pogacar launched an attack. You could argue that he couldn't see him but you could also argue that he could hear him. He was definitely trying to put the pressure on and hoping for Vingegaard to make a misstep.
@@Alpehuedk They said in the video that Pogacar attacked. Maybe he just didn't see him.
@@RyanNordle I agree, he may have just not seen it
è da quando ero bambino che non vedevo una tappa del genere. che spettacolo, roba da anni 90. complimenti a tutti, ai ciclisti, ai tecnici, ai medici.
Best Tour in many years.
First time I see one of my countrymen winning in my lifetime. 🇩🇰
What a tour. This rivalry between Pog and Jonas has it all. Respect, sportsmanship and panache. It’s been a joy to watch and long may it continue in years to come.
Wout Van Aert also proving that Superman is real, what a day and what a tour from him. Amazing stuff!
The sportsman ship, wow, respect, well deserved, amazing athletes all of them
Jonas Vingegaard!!👏👏💪💪🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰 And what an outstanding performance from his team as well, specially Van Eart👏👏💪
Parece que Vingegaard liquidou a fauta. Mais do que merecido pois alem de ser um atleta excepcional mostrou um caráter extraordinário. Parabéns ao virtual vencedor do TDF.
Vingegaard. Pure class...the best this year and Pogacar knows it. Hope to these two do battle again next year as this year's Tour has been fantastic....great rivalry and seem to be friends.
Amazing Job Jumbo Visma, greats sportsmanship and a terrific performance by Wout, third ahead of all GC guys, what a beast.
OMG ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BOTH, GREAT HONORABLE CHAMPIONS🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Never ever seen such an outstanding sportsmanship.Gentlemen and friends
Best stage of the tour so far!!!!!!
he deserve to be the KOM..stage 11 and stage 18 the highest elevation on tour he won💪😎💪..salute jonas..grats..see u next year poga..😁
Great news is that they are both super young, so this battle can go on and on for years!
@@barath4545 yes we hope so...and its very interesting to watch🤩
Wow.. They waited for each other.. Never seen one like that
That was the embodiment of sportsmanship. He deserves to win the tournament just on that.
Has a participant in the 1984 Olympic Road Race, I am happy with the level of competition in this year's Tour De france. Great sportsmanship, family-like togetherness in the peloton. I am enjoying the race.
Il y a longtemps qu'on n'a pas vu comme cette étape , wout van eart a mis une bonne touche au tour de France.
What a ride this years TdF has been! Best in years.
Another Danish connection in this year's TdF: Tomorrow's stage ends in Cahors, which is the place of the ancestors of the prince consort of Denmark, who died a few years ago.
Wow that sportmanship makes the win even more deserved!
What a pleasure to see sportsmanship!
Van Aert wow what a beast man, he is an alien 👽
Wow van Aert 💪
Rooting for TJV, the teamwork and sportsmanship is amazing! Excited to see Geraint’s TT 👀
A Great DANE! 1st Class Sportsmanship!👍🚴🚴🇩🇰
Crazy TdF so far, really digging it. Glad to see TJV finally having some success albeit I was hoping for Roglic to get his redemption. WvA is too strong, but a bit disappointed that VdP isn't there to challenge on some of these punchy stages.
You really think that VDP can challenge WVA in a three weeks grand Tour?
@@dirk2518 As I said, in some of the punchy stages.
It would never have been possible for Roglic to win he’s not close to Vingegaards level when they have to climb for real, but to help the team he would have been important. I like Roglic too and he’s a world class rider, but i don’t believe that he’s good enough to win the TDF not as long there is a Vingegaard and Pogacar!!!
Roglic had his redemption, he helped his teammate beat Pogacar...
This is the way competitors should behave. Mighty impressive character in these guys.
I look forward to see pogacar and vingegaard fight it out the next years to come!! This years tour have been amazing.
Vinegegaard deserves the yellow. What an exciting battle man. Absolute entertainment
Incredible sportsmanship
Love all amazing GUY of TdF, what an incredible effort to get the every stage. RESPECT Guys❤
Super awesome he waited !
Dare I say, greatest TDF in recent memory?
Vingegaard is such an inspiration! And yes, the entire tour has been full of amazing feats and sportsmanship. Just what we needed in these dark times....
All these people saying "the tour is over, nothing left to see. It's just going to be boring"😂🤣 CLEARLY they are not true cycling fans. We have not seen a battle like this in probably 40 years. Every year is a great TOUR but this year's edition has been the MOST EXCITING TDF in many years
so happy for Vingegaard but Geschke … 😭
Yeah, I felt really bad for him, he especially and his entire team worked so hard for it. Maybe they will give him the Super Combatif in Paris? Even if he isnt French....
@@dfuher968 That might be a nice consolation prize for him although there should be no doubt the Super Combatif should go to Wout van Aert. I've never seen anything like it. He's been everywhere. Dominating.
tour over vinegar good on T T.-- when tour of estonia primoz champ supported. by vinegard..only accident hope not..

And Geschke will have to wear the Polka Dot jersey for the next three stages with Vingegaard in yellow ...
I feel bad for Geschke. He was closing gaps trying to make it to the getaway group, but not a teammate in sight to help him. All he needed was 4 th place on d'Aubisque.
What a great TDF this year.
An amazing stage and great sportsmanship from both champions.
YESSSS !!!! great race, great athletes, good coverage.
WvA is really something. The greatest domestique if I may say. Going for the attack, then pull Jonas in the climb, and finish 3rd? And he ain't even a full climber🔥 He's an absolute beast.
What a great sportsmanship,
His code of conduct shows why this is the world’s most beautiful sport
Wow. Green jersey leading yellow jersey green was stunning. What a day.

Pogacar essentially a good domestique for Jonas. Jonas is clever but gentleman indeed.
An excellent race..both man is amazing...showing a lot of sportmanship...
Was not a Vingegaard fan (only b/c I was rooting for Tadej) but after today, I'm in, true sportsmanship. Hell of a tour!
Yes. In this situation, I think not simple rookie-type mistake, but more a demonstration of how close to the edge he and Pog are in competing --- that he's trying to resume pedaling before coming far enough out of that curve.
rookies or pro when you slipped like that , there no more pro b/c accident we never know..
Rookie mistake but absolute Pro legend save though!
True. But he shows that he’s a true professional by saving him self from crashing!!!
Really good sportsmanship by Vingegaard after Pogacar‘s fall. Nevertheless it was probably the nail in the coffin of Pogacar‘s dreams to win the tour once more. However if we are realistic the chances were already very slim after yesterday and Vingegaard was incredible.
