Great video as always! I can attest to your case study as definitely working! I did that too, but if you are a newbie, make sure to have a solid campaign budget. I liked your use case, that was awesome! I wish my numbers were that good! I of course had to stop because of poor $$ planning on my part, but I did rank higher and sold more books after I ran an ad for about a month, sold a few from the ad, then stopped the ads and still more sold. I wanted the sales but was actually more interested in the data. Excellent video! 😉👍
Is there a tool that allows us to see what page our book is ranking on without having to scroll through all of amazons pages? Love your content btw Paul, probably the best youtube channel for KDP that’s out there right now 😊
Thanks Paul, you have a great channel, and I am learning lots from you; How many keywords did you target in this ad? Is it your strategy to start with a small keywords number and increase them after that or the opposite? I noted that keywords everywhere and Helium 10 give different values regarding keywords search volume; which one do you prefer to follow?
I did give you a like but it would have been a better video if you would have mentioned a little bit about how you set up the Ads. Like what keywords did you use and how many or did you just let Amazon do it automatically. Will you be doing a video about how to setup Amazon Ads?
I know you had mentioned you had over 2500 books live....how did you decide which book to run ads on....thanks for all the good tips. I’m Still learning.......
Masoud Taki sorry I want to make sure I understand your reply......do you mean 2 months? I seem to remember him saying wait 2-3 months before running ads. I was wondering how he decided which book to put ads on.....
I normally wait 2-3 months. I would like to put ads on all my books but I don't have the budget! I run ads on a gut feeling I get as to whether I think the book will rank well and sell lots.
That wasn’t the aim of the video. It’s to demonstrate what can be achieved and a strategy. Bid and daily budget will vary dependent on niche and demand. In general I start with a 20 cent bid and $5.00 daily budget and adjust accordingly.
Hi paul thanks for this valuable information. I have a question. I have a new book without any sell. And a 0.49$ royalty per book how much should i set a bid for my ads on this book as per your opinion.please suggest me.
▲ To give an example, let's say that with a budget of $ 5 in ads in a book you generate 5 daily sales, based on this, if we increase the budget to $ 20 daily we would have approximately 20 daily sales? That's how it works? Or is there a point where increasing the budget would not generate more sales? Thanks
It would be great if it worked like that. It all depends on the market for your book. You could max out on the impressions you get with a low budget if the demand for your book is low.
How can I tell if my ads are going to successful ads? What is your way with adding keywords and setting the price of bids? There are 3 types of adding keywords which they are broad, phrase and exact?
There is no way to tell if an ad is going to be successful. It would be nice if there was. There are so many variables. It’s a case of trying them and experimenting.
Great, but i have one question, your kind help is required. "Top of search (first page)" what is meant by this, it comes in ad campaign. Actually i am creating my first campaign & and set $3 per day & .20cents per click, but understanding the meaning of above quoted question. Pls explain it in simple words with example
Paul you are making really amazing videos.. my question is that.. do you get organic sales during ad campaign ? I haven't listened from you about this in any video.
Great content :)I just uploaded my first KDP book and after 24 hrs it marked as Draft rather than Published. What should I do? I went ahead and saved and republished it went back to review again then a few hours later came back to draft status. I havent made any to the title.
@@paulmarles Thank you I just recieved the email today regarding making changes to the author name as im not able to list the author name under ____'s personalized notebooks. I think they need it to be a full pen name
My question would be then, how do you know when an ad is a loser or not? (I've run probably 2 Amazon ads to searches that were very low volume, so it didn't really do much, but I didn't pay much either)
Hi paul, Is there a procedure to list Kindle books on other international web sites from Amazon? I have a German language book in the final stages to be published and would like to list it on the www.amazon.de site.
I was just curious to know how much did you earn on that book from 16 September 2020 to 15 March 2021. What was the amount? Did you restart running ads on that book after 16 September?
Ok, couple of probs. You would have to pay for the ads at least a month before you receive royalties. And you didn't say whether it was auto or manual ads
Have you run any ads at all? Because your opinion on auto and manual ads is incorrect. If you watch the video I spend approx. $650 over 2.5 months. When I first started I couldn’t afford to run ads either. So do you know what I did? I waited for about 18 months until I started making regular profits and then invested those profits into running ads. That is what running a business is about. And, as I said in the video, my best seller has not had any ads run on it at all. So, I ask again, what is the problem and why do you think this is different from running any other business?
You need to check the status of your ad, if it says 'delivering', then your ad is running. If after few days you still have no data available, that means you are bidding very low and you dont get any impressions. Try to increase the bid slightly and allow it a few days or a week to see if you get impressions...
Sir, I want to take your opinion on making an advertisement for a coloring book for children i have made. Will i be able to get sales? i need your email plz
Thank you so much Captain! I swear you post the best KDP related videos. They are so helpful. Congrats on your success with this book.
Thank you 🙏

There you go. That's the way to do it. This works! 👍
Great tip Captain Paul. I never try any ads so far.
After watching this I will try out . Thank you
That’s great 👍
My case exactly! Although I'm continuing to run those ads but as I got more positive reviews I've expanded the campaigns with additional keywords.
Good work. 👍👍

Amazon run extension (Amzrun extension) or "ASIN;[long or short tail] KEYWORD" in the search bar
Thank you for the suggestion. There's also a Helium 10 module that will let you do that I think.
Amazing strategy Paul. We need a step by step video
Good suggestion 👍
Thank you. I'm currently cautiously experimenting with ads and this was very helpful.
That's the way to learn and achieve success - experiment. 👍
Thanks for explaining! I'm having trouble with this so I'll try this method.
That's great.
Your videos are Awesome . please, Create videos on ' how to set Ads for KDP on Amazon for newbies

Congrats on your sales, when you recommend killing an ad? After 7 days, 30 days ? And how much do you recommend to spend daily for testing ?
He said if you get 10 clicks, and you don't get any sales, kill the ad.
Masoud Taki thank you I missed that part, I stepped away for a customer. I’ll rewatch it!
As above.
Paul Marles thanks!

It means the number one position on the first page of the search results.

Yes, you do. I have done a video on it.

Sounds good! How many reviews did you have when you started running ads? Was it a quite new book or more of a "best seller" of yours?
He said he had no sales when he started ads for it, so he'd have had no reviews either.
As above. I had no sales as mentioned at the beginning of the video!

Low CTR of
having 1.8k is not pure profit , you need to remove ( price of printing * number of sales ) , or not ?
No. That is the royalties I’ve received i.e. the profit, pure profit.
Hey Paul! do you run ads only on books that sell before ?
No.
Where are u at buddy
So what's the maximum profits you made with no ads? After you started paying for ads, thats when money started rolling in?
My best selling has never had an ad run on it. It sells around 750 copies a month.
Once yr ad campaign is approved, how soon after do your reports show? Just curious because my first ad got approved last night, yeah!
Straight away.
Hi paul,
Is there a procedure to list Kindle books on other international web sites from Amazon? I have a German language book in the final stages to be published and would like to list it on the www.amazon.de site.
Yes, you have a choice when you upload.
Great Info thx
Glad it was helpful!

Yes.
I was just curious to know how much did you earn on that book from 16 September 2020 to 15 March 2021. What was the amount? Did you restart running ads on that book after 16 September?
No, I've never re-started ads on that book. Sales continue to be between $300 to $400 a month.
How do you test the book has the potential...with ads, if it sells one or two per day would be recommendable?
As I said at the beginning of the video, this book had made no sales. I run ads on books that are not selling but I think they would with ads.
Ok, couple of probs. You would have to pay for the ads at least a month before you receive royalties.
And you didn't say whether it was auto or manual ads
Why are they problems?
@@paulmarles not everyone has a spare £600 for ads?
And if auto they cod lose £600 very quickly without manu sales!
