The KING of keyboard arrangers!!
Why Yamaha does not create detailed how-to video tutorials for Genos features? It's a shame that it's flagship is supported by a manual and a couple of 1 minute videos...
I have a Yamaha EX5 synthesizer and I think the manual was written in Japanese, translated to French, translated to pig latin and then to English. It is a terrible manual. I also have a Yamaha PSR280 that I got for my daughter. The manual that came with that is great. Go figure.
At first you think, no way, but then the fantastic demo and sounds draws you in...
Just got it 3 days ago and hearing it almost made me cry tears of joy!
Martin Harris, by far the best musician demonstrating the GENOS, in my opinion. First time I notice the fluff under your chin. Let it grow out Martin. It will give you a whole new cool look. You have sold me on the GENOS. First time in a long time I have set a goal for myself - buy a GENOS by the end of the year. Yamaha is truly the best. I can't wait until I have my very own GENOS.
You are a magician, and the music is the magic. Fantastic demo. Thank you and Sweetwater for a really great video. I would love to own one. Maybe someday.
I am in love with the Genos
Genos, the father of my keyboard, the PSR-SX 700. Proud to have it.
Yeah, I have a PSR-SX 900 and love every bit of it. I'm still contemplating adding the Genos to my arsenal, just so hard to just pass up.
Always been a huge Yamaha fan for workstations... I go back to 1987 working with DAWs by Yamaha. Loving it more every new workstation!
Legit, one of the best keyboards (and most expensive) i’ve ever seen
The Guy (Martin Harris) can play for sure ,yes. And he know the Genos from top to bottom, inside and outside,- because he is one of the top designers behind this great keyboard. ThankYou Maestro
Let me have the freedom to ask if it is possible to make some DAW integration with it (Cubase Pro). If not, perhaps in a software update?? This will be a game changer for me !- and other mucisians with me I'm shure!
he is just demo player nothing more
Ah, as a Cubase owner myself, I’d love to see some integration. I also bought the Steinberg Absolute Collection and it would be cool to also see Yamaha incorporate some integration to those VSTs too, in a future update.
This is a great piece of equipment for a songwriter in pre-production,or a guy with a one, two,or three man band in a lounge here in Vegas, but in a studio environment,it would be nice to have separate outputs for each group of instruments,(drums, piano, guitars, woodwinds, strings) so you can create the mix you want or you'd have to overdub every instrument when producing a song, which kind of defeats the purpose of this instrument in a studio environment. For almost six grand,I'd want professional "hi-z"outputs for each group.
Excellent idea.
you can actually do midi recording inside the instrument and save it into a MIDI file, then import it into your DAW while connecting to your GENOS, and then you can play the MIDI file in your DAW and you can hear the sound from GENOS, then you can edit as you wish in your DAW.
Great demo Martin!! I just got my Genos. Love it!
Toril Susegg can you connect genos with logig pro X ?
Great demo Martin!
Lex Hoge for the price? Lololol...
¡ey!¡and the latin styles?
ppl if you are just an stage musician this workstation is not for you. Other wise you've been putting over $5,000 on this keyboard to use only the synths and piano sounds . This is more for music production .
Isaac Pizarro it’s more for the 1 man band live performer and then also for the song writer who wants instant music production. Ha ha ha definitely not the best option for the stage performer.
Lovely sounds i have a yamaha psr sx700. Its amazing ❤❤
love it .. that is my dream instrument man .. sound very rich for real ..
He is a wizard in this Geno's..good work
The guy can play for sure, Great sounding keyboard too!
Amazing keyboard,i really enjoy when play with my Genos.
how much price this genos?
I need a musical(key)board that can read my musical ideas/tunes and arrange/play/record them using appropriate instruments and percussion.. hey.. Yamaha, can you do that ? If not, I shall stick with our great n cheap CASIO !
8:22 the best part of video, Pride.
Great sound. I love it.
Hi Martin a quick comment from downunder where we’re all waiting ...:). Nice job! You showed singer/songwriters like me some of the magic Genos can create at speed. For us who are amateurs on keyboard but want a really cool instant band for inspiration - you shone the light here brother. Thanks. Now - a quick call to the bank...
BEST ARRANGER KEYBOARD
you must not have played the k org pa4x
@@Steven-zg5bq The Korg sounds aren't quite as good as the Genos.
@@barrywitt4618 the kenos sounds a little better at home, but on the stage I found the korg is unbeatable
@@barrywitt4618 Actualy a keyboard is only as good as the person playing it.
Hello.
In Audio multi Recording, I used to save my music easily on my USB stick. Today, I can't save anymore. I do Menu, then Export and at the top of the screen I find Cancel, New Folder and Export again. I no longer have Save here.
Do you know how to recover this function?
Thanks
Very cool because I'm hoping to get this
Hi, Bravo! Great presentation. Cheers. Bye from Augsburg, Hannes 🍀🎶
Nice demo !
I wonder if you can change tempos on the rhythm section and arpeggiators on the fly! This is very important!
anyone?
You’re a professional
I love Genos
is there a workshop if i buy this. I think i will waste the money if i buy an expensive and dont use it to the max/
Love it, must have one (but no money for it); bummer
How cost it is?
shine lyngdoh 5000$
@@relaxingmodel5187 I think it's $5,999 now
Well played!
Did you hook it up to a PA ??? my Tyros5-76 makes some "noise" .... which my montage does not do ..... what about the Genos ?? ...
Nice demo from 8:22
WHAT AMP. ARE YOU USING..TO MAKE IT SOUND REAL GOOD.
Any idea that the Tyros4/5 keyboardstand will work for the Genos too? I know the stand is grey and the Genos black, but I think that will look okay.
I have a Korg Pa4x that I can set my foot controller (FBC1010) tio control most of the style and fill buttons. Is this also the case with the Genos?
2:47 "We can also combine time signatures - let's take a 1/2 bar... ooh no, we can't do that yet" aaarghh come on Yamaha :/
I don't know about genos but 1/2 bar fill feature was introduced since the Yamaha PSR s975
how much price genos yamaha 2021 model 1set suit case
getting closer to a usable performance instrument although I am still sceptical
Just play a recorded backing track for songs, this is a great board for wannabe musicians, that really can’t play.
Bull.
Love it.... Anyone know where I can buy this?
What speakers is this being played through. I see it is not the speakers designed to fit on the keyboard.
this guy is pro!!
What's price of Geno's keyboard
My problem with the Yamaha products is that when you heard one you heard them all. Doesn't catch me at all.
It's not just the contents of an arranger workstation that count. It's mainly what can be done with such contents. And there are plenty of possibilities on the Tyros 5, the PSR S970 and more recently, this great new Genos instrument. Yamaha Genos? Ought to be called the Yamaha Genius.
Then go buy a Rolland.korg Casio?
What about the new Roland Fantom 9? Its better than this Yamaha?.. I need get a good unit asap..
Really!!! You might need a reality check. For Workstations, you always bet on YAMAHA.
Yamaha’s (BBB) BigBooBoo was abandoning The MOTIF Concept and replacing it WITH the no Good Montage.
BRING MOTIF BACK!!! For those of us who cannot afford Mighty GENOS.
Great Sounds
Just spent the 5.999 and was wondering if you need a computer with this or if it's all built in? I don't have a computer so I'd have to return😢
Como se llama la primera cancion con la que inicia este video.😊
From reading the comments there are lot of people out there who cannot save or come up with a paltry $5,500 to buy something. The real reason I guess is that they just don't like Yamaha products and will come up with any bit of trivia about the machine to downgrade it, including referencing the 'incredible' cost to purchase it...should have stayed at school longer people...
10:55 nice touch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic!
Wondering if the keys are weighted or semi-weighted? Will it sound good only in stereo , not Mono ? That was the case with Tyros 4 and 5 . Sounded great in Stereo ., muted and sub quality in Mono, I was told this was because all the sounds were sampled in Stereo.
Not weighted not semi but touch sensitive
What a pity that no Genos arranger module exists.
We have houses full of keyboards, we need portable modules!!
16:39 you can write music for a movie on this keyboard? but this is kind of like my coworkers doing programming... do this do that, and boom bam, it works. How does it work? They say, "I dunno..."
wao!¡i like this model of yamaha!i am intrest in work with you ¿what can i do ?i am from panama
09:10 What is this song called? I can't remember the name of this song ;(
fantastic!
Good Technics 😁😁😁
Great video! May I ask what are you playing this through - great sound quality but I don't see any speakers
Hi Kerri, the output of the GENOS went directly to the audio inputs of the video camera. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer me. Fantastic keyboard! You play it really well too! This keyboard will be invaluable to me as a composer! Sadly I cannot afford it for at least another 3 years :( but every second of every day will be worth the wait....such sweet agony!! :) You can hear my compositions on my RUclips page if you are at all curious. My music is very well recieved, and I've had numerous requests for CD's, but my present Yamaha keyboard is a good 16 years old now (PSR2000) and to my ears anyway, not of good enough quality to get a CD cut. This Genos will open doors for me in more ways than one!! Roll on 2021 :) ruclips.net/video/SWLmhHTw2fs/видео.html
BEST YAMAHA BUT PLEASE MAKE 5 OCTAVE KEYBOARD MODEL FOR TRAVELLING MUSICIANS
Nah,need 88 keys,always.
Gunjan Massey they got a psr sx900 now which is basically a baby genos.
'Press a button... record a whole album!'
Seems you prefer the time consuming road
No it's not intended for music production, Montage or MODX are intended for music production as they are workstation/synths.
Even though Yamaha market their flagship arranger keyboard as a "digital workstation" which is very misleading this is really an
arranger rather than a workstation intended for one man band performers playing live. But the majority of midi sequencing nowadays
is done using a DAW, midi comtroller and VST instruments, it's been that way for the past 15 years.
magkano price geno organ?
Good sound but where's Expanded Organ World... Please show us.
What accompaniment is it at 16.08?
bonne sonorité,nouveau style
Wow Nice one of the last songs sound likes Game of Genos XD LOL
I heard a guy playing this in a local club - it sounded cheezy, but I guess that's down to playing ability and sounds.
Shame...here in Indonesia most players are buying the latest boards but all they do is to play old styles inherited from their older boards, not even making use much of the new features so it still sounds cheesy to me years after years...loud mix but expressionless
Mm ni TANZANIA nitaipaje?
Good
Chapeau
13:51 make me flying bro. It's killer sound...
За сколько купили Genos хотелось себе???
what are you running your sound through?
I purchased the GENOS then a friend talked me into cancelling the order and getting something else. I regret sending it back.
What is that something else you got?
Ninzuri sana hiii kitu
YAMAHA; NEW DIGITAL ; YAMAHA ABSOLUTE DIGITAL; GOSTEI MUITO BOM GENOS ……………………OK!!! YAMAHA ……
Does this come with 88 weighted keys?
Hello! The Genos arranger keyboard is available only with 76 synth action (non piano weighted) keys. This is typical of all high end arrangers, being much more flexible than typical stage pianos. You won't necessarily want weighted keys when you're playing many of the diverse instruments the Genos is capable of playing.
If you'd like to go into more detail, please call my number below. Thanks for your interest!

@@sweetwater thanx for your reply. I hope I get the chance to try it out some day.
@@sweetwater which is the new version yamaha genos?
That synth looks like Noa's Ark.
It's not a synth
I don’t think it’s waterpoof
It's an arranger keyboard and has no synth capibilities even though Yamaha are very misleading calling it a "digital workstation".
It's a good keyboard for one man band players and songwriters but I'm not too keen on the appearence of modern keyboards.
I would sooner choose a Roland D70 or Korg M1 any day of the week! At least they are the proper definition of a workstation
and much nicer looking plus the Roland D-70 even has weighted keys! It's bad enough I very nearly bought a Yamaha Tyros 5.
What is “dsp soundboard”?
Hello, Robert! A DSP soundboard just refers to the sort of processing involved in the soundboard. It stands for "Digital Signal Processing," and allows for a ton of computing operations. It's a sort of powerhouse for more advanced operations. It helps translate the quality sounds that can be found in the Genos. Thanks for the interest!

Sweetwater thx for the reply.
what style is 9:55?
Ain’t got no funk!
It sounds better than it looks which, is a bit plasticy. Some nice bells & whistles although. I am freaked out by the mad price point........come on Yamaha. Stick with my Kronos thanks for the time being and save my $$$$ as no doubt they will bring out a 2 model like Korg did with the Kronos.
Most stage piano players in bands don't realize, horn lines, string lines, guitar lines are totally different than piano lines. If you are a classically schooled arranger of course you will know that. This video also doesn't tell you if it has smpte or midi in out and thru....And I agree with the comment there isn't the facility to play with the waveforms on the elemental level. Even the old Yamaha TX81Z had that! No I think it is a nice toy to play with for a couple of hours and then go back to playing the analog instruments trac by trac. Am I old? YEP!!!
13:50 Inspiring sound !
Yop good
Just add water(AUDIO TRACKS!)
The elevator music machine
....or the hanglider if you’re good enough
Bad elevator music :)
They should’ve made an 88 key version of this keyboard available.
Why.
Arranger keyboards only tend to come in 61 or 76 key options because they need to be easy to lug around.
That's why arrangers don't tend to have weighted keys.
@@tomschaffner9704 because some of are actual piano players and prefer 88 weighted keys,I may have to get the korg for this very reason
sem efeitos de voz, harmonias, sem pedais para mudar andamentos ou efectuar breaks
Where does the music end up that people make with these things? Corporate safety videos and keyboard demos?? It will take a while to pay back the 6k that this thing costs.
it's not necessary people buy this so it pays you back in form of money
People who play at wedding or other similar venues or gigs would earn back the money as I doubt anybody would play at events for free.
Songwriters also use arranger keyboards to make demo tracks and then they earn the money back from their record. Or even people with
a day job could afford to buy it but unless auto accompaniments are your thing it's not really worth buying an arranger. I was going to buy
a used Tyros 5 because I preferred Tyros over Genos but because I quit my job I couldn't in the end. But to be honest as I do mid sequencing
I was better off using VST instruments like Halion, Labs, BBCSO Discover, Decent Sampler and Kontakt. If I had bought a Tyros 5 many of my
comments on here would have been different and I would have reccomended a used Tyros as a cheaper option to Genos.
Unfortunately, there are no Audio Styles in Genos ALONE!
That’s why I kept my tyros5.
@@tomschaffner9704 I very nearly bought a used Tyros 5.
I think Yamaha ditched audio styles on Genos because it has Revo Drums.
@@LittleRichard1988 True!👍🏼
The only downside ... the price
Why in these demos we only get cheesy EDM and 80s music? Not sold on this by the demo.
Pricey though.. 😢😢
You get what you pay for. This is a Rolls Royce keyboard
If your a one man band player or a songwriter and getting paid for live gigs or whatever profession then the money you earn would cover the cost of
the keyboard. But if your into midi sequencing or music production a workstation/synth like Montage, Fantom or Krome is better as those tend to have
more pristine sound quality and deep sound editing capibilities. Or better still get a DAW, VST isntruments and a midi controller. But if your unemployed
or a comsumer in any case the best keyboard is whatever keyboard you have!
The same stuff like yamaha official demo. He's playing the same instruments...
Not good enough Yamaha!
Yamaha has their way of doing it like Korg does and Roland and so on.
But Korg provide better demo's that the truth of the market.
Just remember- the Motif XF is still the go-to for some of the best players around..
sounds expensive
