    Y'all I made a newbie mistake. Make sure your carriage is on the right side of the bed to start. I was trying to do this starting from the left. That don't make an e and it won't work. Hopefully this helps some people. Thank you for your videos Anna.

    Hi Anna ... what is the advantage of doing the e-wrapping as explained in the second half of your video (waste yarn and ravel cord) compared to e-wrapping as shown in the first half? .... btw, very usefull video, thanks!

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  4 года назад +6

      When you use the waste yarn, you have something to put the weights on right away. This can be helpful if you're using delicate or fine yarn that might get distorted or snagged with weights on the edge. It also knits off a bit smoother with the waste yarn but the first way is faster. It's really just two ways of doing the same thing and ultimately comes down to personal preference and the yarn you use.

    Anna, I love your videos. They incredible helpful. Do you know anything about the KX 390. I’m hoping the KX 350 is similar.

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  Год назад

      Yes, it's very similar but the KH 390 is convertible so it can do standard gauge or bulky gauge. The KX 350 is mid-gauge but you could do most projects using the bulky gauge on your machine and lowering the tension. The levers will all work the same way. I have a KH 400 which is very similar to the KH 390. Thanks!

      I was out bid a few times on EBay on a KX 350 so was hoping the 390 was similar as there were no videos on it. But now I know I can follow the 350 patterns. Thank You so much for your time ❤️

    What do we change both side buttons to on the LK150. This is great.

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  5 лет назад +1

      Put all four levers forward for the cast-on. When you are ready to knit the second row, push the two levers furthest from you back.

      The side levers should be forward, on the circle. The Russell levers also should be forward on II.

    Hi Anna,
    I’m knew on knitting machine but I’ve decided to buy a kx350 and follow your tutorials. I have a question. … can I use fingering yarn for the socks you have on your channel? Thank you kindly

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  2 года назад +1

      Fingering yarn is probably too thin for the KX350 but if you use two strands it would work.

    I'm new to machine knitting and was curious what the waste yarn cast on does differently. Is it for projects where you need to connect garments? Or does it help get a more even edge?

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  3 года назад +2

      It's just a different way to get the same result, which could come in handy in different applications. For instance, if you were working with a very delicate yarn and needed to hang weights right away, you could hang it on the waste yarn.

    can you please do a video on tension, my fabric is curling I was using Patton home decor yarn

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  3 года назад +1

      It’s normal for knitting to curl, especially stockinette stitch. It’s not a tension issue. There are some stitch patterns that don’t curl as much but usually you have to deal with the curl with blocking and adding edges or seams.

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  5 лет назад +1

      Not really. You can create the same kind of edge but you would have to do a backstitch bind-off by hand with a darning needle.
