Thanks I have been thinking about getting this knitting machine. I have been using a Ultimate Sweater Machine this would be a 👍 step up for me thanks for the videos. Hope to see you do some picture knitting.😃
This will be first time using machine. I have been using the 2. Needle or circular needle. Thanks for the video. ? What kind of knitting machine is best for beginners? Looking forward for more video!!!
Even after you hang the hem and are finished, you still have open stitches when you remove waste. Can you do a video showing how to deal with live stitches after the waste us removed
You should not have live stitches. You hang the first row of blue stitches onto the needles so that you have two stitches on each needle (except the first one.) Then you knit a row which closes the hem and the live stitches.
Thank you! Yes, you could easily do this on a standard gauge machine with more stitches and rows and a thinner yarn. The initial cast on would be a little different depending on what kind of machine you have but everything else would be the same.
I have a machine like this and can not work on it, it falls . I would like , if you could show a video on how to start knitting on this machine . The thread of my machine when I pass car falls. Thanks
I was given an old German Strick Matador flat bed knitting machine. It seems no parts are available any longer. Do you have any suggestions for any ways to source things for this type of machine even if they are no longer produced?
You could join the group "Vintage and Antique Knitting Machines" on Facebook and ask there. Sometimes, with vintage machines, it's worth it to buy a second one of the same model to get parts.
Love your videos! Do you have a written pattern for this hat? I just got an LK150 and I would love to make this hat! Thank you in advance! Please keep the videos coming!!
Loved your video ❤ I have an ultimate sweater machine that I'm getting used to using. I'm wondering why the use of scrap yarn at the beginning? I just use a cast on stitch.
When you hang live stitches from waste yarn it creates a nice flat hem. I'm not sure what you mean by a cast on stitch; do you mean e-wrap or crochet cast-on or something else? You can certainly hang any of these cast ons; just a different look and method to the one I show in this video.
Wow! You’re an excellent instructor! I’m a visual learner and will not purchase a knitting machine until I can find great video instructions like yours. Btw, I like hats knitted with 3.5-4.0 circular needles. Will an LK150 work for this? Thanks!
The LK 150 is a mid-gauge machine and it works best with medium weight yarns (weight 3 or 4 in the US. ) It sounds like you like hats knit with thinner yarn; if so you might consider getting a standard gauge machine. There are a few still being made today but many available on the used market.
Thanks so much for this tutorial, can't wait to try it tomorrow. I have an LK150. You gave really good tips, love the tip on using higher tension to knit the picot edge to the hat and the way you did the top was nice. Does drawing the carriage across, at the end, with T1, T2 etc get a little harder?
Hi, it's hard to explain, but push the needle all the way out and close the latch. Pull up on the needle and lift out. When you put the new needle in, open the latch and push it in the slot, then come back up and it will snap into place.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I actually thought people have given up on the knitting machine lk150.I broke my carriage to my lk150. I'm trying to purchase a new one but they are so expensive. Can I still use my carriage from my lk 140?
Very nice video but can’t see too well when you join as you go off camera and are sometimes in the shadow, but can see enough to work it out . Thank you
Sorry about that; I was having trouble keeping the sewing in the frame. I made this video for a class I taught and almost didn't include the sewing up part.
Yea, you can make it on the LK 150. I don’t have the finished hat measurements but the hat was adult sized. The yarn, tension number and gauge of the machine will all affect the size of the hat. My advice is to try one with inexpensive yarn and adjust size for the next one if needed.
