I bought this pump when it first came out and nobody really knew about it. I was BLOWN away by the ridiculous power. I still don’t use letdown mode and I am a mom of four breastfeeding for six years so far and still going 🤣😫 it’s “Lawd have mercy” strong.
Yesss! I have been using it as well. It is SO strong even on level 1. Also still don't use the letdown mode. Thank you for sharing and congratulations on 6 years of breastfeeding your 4 little ones. What a blessing 💜
Omg I couldn’t do the let down. It was so intense. I’ve tried four different pumps and this one just hurt so bad I immediately said nope not for me. So glad I saw this warning
Hack for lessening the power on the baby Buddha! A friend suggested I poke a hole in the tubing. It worked! Had to be a pretty big hole though. I made the hole right at the end so that if it didn’t work I could just cut the tubing smaller. I bend the tubing to let more air in the hole the first minute or two of pumping when it hurts so bad, then l let up on the tube and it closes back up and doesn’t let out air.
I was recommended this pump by 1 Natural way.. glad I found this review to understand it better (thank you!) Do you have a pump that you recommend the most? I am a first time pump user/breast feeder (coming this may)
Congratulations on your baby coming in May! I have used The baby Buddha pump a lot during the beginning of my Lactation journey, it is really strong though, so maybe not right for everybody. I also have really had great results with a Spectra. I find that the spectra is a pretty great pump for most people. I’m so excited for you, thanks for being here. You’re gonna be an awesome mama
Hi! Welcome. Usually on other pumps, 1-2 minutes on let down mode and then switch to expression mode. Some people find it helpful to do another let down phase half way through their pumping session....butttt, with the BabyBuddha, as mentioned in this video, I recommend skipping the let down phase if you are new to pumping or new to this pump, because it is very strong and can be quite painful (even to an experienced pumper). Hope that helps.
It was the most painful thing ever.. when i used the expression mode, now am using just letdown mode low levels.. should i try again w expression mode?? will it make any difference to milk supply?
Uggg sorry you felt that pain! That strong pull at the end is actually in the let down phase on this pump, so I think you meant you are using the expression mode only. If you are getting good results with that, and the other mode causes you pain, don't stress about trying it again. You can always start with low suction and only increase as tolerated with no pain.
@@KassiReyes lol yeah i meant the letdown was super painful but I found that when i lubricated with coconut oil it became so much better.. i have no pain now on either expression or letdown modes. Thank u for the reply
Hi thanks for the video. How long would you recommend pumping on the expression mode. I’ve been pumping for 3months now, usually for 30 min in Medela pump in style. Thankfully
Hi! Thank you for watching. You could do a similar amount of time as you have been doing with your other pump, but since this pump is stronger, you may empty more milk faster and therefore need to pump for a shorter time. See how your body responds to the new pump :)

This pump worked fantastically for me. This video was informative, thank you.
Should have watched your video before I tried it! My eyes about popped out of my head with the first strong suck in the stimulation phase 😅
Oh my goodness! Ouch!!! 😂

You are so welcome!
thanks for sharing these tips!
Of course, I am so glad you stopped by.
Could this pump be a primary pump?
The ncvi has the same duckvalve
wait so none of the tubing can be washed? but everything else can be? (aside from the remote part)
Yes you don’t wash the tubing it will catch mold.
Let me know if you try this pump or if you have used it in the past. Did you end up using the let down phase?
Hi Kassi, does the Baby Buddha automatically switch to Expression mode once it has gone through the 5 phases of the Let Down mode?
I have only been using the let down on 5... but it send to render the expression phase useless
@@latonyawarren5269 Use whatever setting work best for you and give you the most comfort and best output. Thanks for sharing!
I’m low supply & this pump doesn’t seem to be emptying me as effectively as the Spectra I have ☹️
How long should you leave it on each setting? I'm super new to pumping

Baby buddha or medela flex?
I lost milk two days in a row because the milk bottle would not twist tightly to the flanges. Ughhh.
Uggggggg. Crying over spilled milk is a real thing. Sorry this happened to you.
