      Blessings
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law./inspiration+ The Prayer of Jabez is a powerful one. In 2000, Christian author Bruce Wilkinson wrote a book called The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to a Blessed Life. In this book, Wilkinson discussed the importance of praying like Jabez. Jabez prayed that God would bless him. That He would expand his territory. That God would keep His hand upon him and protect him from harm. A simple prayer, but a powerful one. It asks for divine favor, anointing, and protection--a life free from sorrow. These are the things we all seek from God. Jabez, a relatively obscure Biblical hero, teaches us that we "have not, because we ask not." We don’t know much about Jabez, except that he prayed this prayer and that he was more honorable than his brothers. But one thing we do know, however, is that God heard him and answered His prayer. Let us commit to praying these things over our own lives. If God did it for Jabez, surely He will do it for us as well./prayer+ Father, I ask Your blessings on my life and the life of my family. I pray that You give me all that I need and, even more, that You prosper me. I pray for Your guidance, Your strength and Your protection. I thank You for hearing my prayer. Amen.

For my side of things, I feel very lucky for my childhood though - I lived in a good neighbourhood, I was in swimming, I played the trumpet, I was in an art class, I was in French immersion and IB in high school and I didn't hang out with the wrong sorts of people = exactly the type of things I want for my future kids. My parents were divorced so that was interesting... I don't know how else to put it. Those are just my circumstances. University/college and beyond, for young adults, there isn't a lot except for bars and drinking. I personally left for university between Toronto and Montreal for different levels of education. I went back for visits during Christmas and during the summer but now that my family no longer lives there anymore, I have no reason to go back and I don't expect to be back any time soon. I miss the memories but I don't think I could ever find myself back there for an extended amount of time again. I'm sorry that your time there wasn't great. That sucks big time! My encounter with a Moose: At night, on a path, in the park at Elkwater (in Southern Alberta near the Saskatchewan border). We were out after curfew (park rule) and walking down a dark path. Then there's a huge movement no more than 3m away to my right. It was moving fast and had a full rack of antlers. He was a *lot* taller than me and outweighed me. I was kinda stunned as it wasn't something anyone expected. Some were faster and vacated the path.
The Moose must have been eating some greenery and we came up quiet but when it noticed 4 of us coming close, it bugged out. But if he'd been angry or p*ssed off, he could have charged through our group and someone would have got hurt. Good thing it wasn't mating season as that time of year, they are much more confrontational.

I came around a corner and there was a moose, just doing what they do best ~ standing there with that “moose in the headlight look” on its face. It was so tall, I actually thought, I could go right under her. Needless to say that thought came and went, as I applied the brakes double quick. Word of warning ~ if you ever lightly brush against a moose, deer, or big horn sheep, enough to knock them over, NEVER get out of your car to check as they’ll stomp you to death when they get up. Lol.
