This was such a great stream! I've always wanted to be a writer in some way since childhood, and a few years ago I settled on my dream career to be becoming a mangaka, as manga/anime has had a huge impact on my life. Over the last 4 years I self taught myself with the internet's help how to draw by hand from scratch, I mean I literally started from stick figures that's how bad my art skills were. Recently I've tried learning how to draw digitally to make that next leap in my career aspirations and its definitely been an overwhelming experience, digital art is a whole different ball game! And part of it is there's just so many programs with so many different functions/tools. So thank you for showing us a free, open source program that seems to be very user friendly for people just getting started in digital art. for the stream Ina, poor braincell ran out of juice at the end, if only we could give you some of the sugar your streams give us daily... I really like these learning streams, I’m not much of an artist myself but it is really nice to see all the settings and options, plus seeing an Inacredible artist go through their thought process really helps newer artists IMO. Idk how many more free or cheap programs there are out there, but please continue to do these types of streams if you want to, they are very helpful!

Want to try again to learn to draw so went back to this stream to see how Ina set up krita. Is quite interesting how different and similar past Ina and present Ina are, kind of strange to hear "yap yap yap" on this video now that yap is a popular word in 2024. Anyway Im glad Ina is still here with us and that she did lots of art, gesture drawing and doodle streams; its time to renew my Inacademy student membership and start a new semester!
"Trial and error" Yup, that was also me back in 2019 when I used krita for the first time lol also... density: how thick the line is opacity: how visible the line is
As a Krita user, this made me very happy. thanks for covering my program of choice for digital painting not a lot of mainstream channels do that haha.....
37:10 How can i replicate this in clip studio? The view -> rotate -> flip horizontally option mirrors the image according to the center of the screen. The canvas -> rotate -> flip horizontally option moves it to center of the screen, but then mirrors it there. none keep it in place after i've moved it.
i was trying to figure this out too wondering if this is a better method until i realized something after testing it out in clip (even after using clip for years lmao): its not replicable in clip but imo it's not entirely necessary. the first one is more useful when you want to work on a portion of the artwork. as long as the area you're focusing on is somewhat centered in your viewport, your view will remain on that portion even after it's flipped the 2nd one is just the same as what Ina mapped in Krita, except Clip adds the step of centering the canvas too as you mentioned. either way, the disadvantage to this way of flipping is that you'll have to move the camera back to the other side of the canvas to the portion you were working on. check 1:09:00 onwards when ina starts sketching, you'll notice she has to keep pulling her canvas back to the center to reach the working area. i think this method is great for assessing the whole artwork but not while working on a portion. im guessing her huge cintiq24 screen size is a factor especially when she has to bring the floating windows closer to her comfortable drawing position, so she cannot totally center the work area for flipping using the first method i prefer not to strain my hand constantly pulling around the canvas even if i use a smaller setup, so i use the first method but really, it's up to preference and workflow
Wow! Thanks, Ina! I am a 3D artist and Unity Game Maker but I'm learning 2D-3D Modelling/Drawing. I am using the blender program and I was looking for a 2D program. Thanks for showing this program!
Oh this. I recognize this art drawing program. I find it very useful for the purposes of rendering (not sure if that's the proper terminology). And as a little advice from myself to anyone reading this, try using a touch screen monitor or a drawing tablet. Unless your mouse can detect the pressure you exert on it, you won't be able to generate some of the effects (well you could but it will take a while).
Hey Ina! Could you please do some streams on getting started in art? I really want to get into it, and I think I'll like it since I'm already into calligraphy. It'd be nice to have a place to start since it's really confusing.
I got into the rabbit hole after watching this... I was looking for a tutorial when transitioning from medibang to krita, then my friend straight up linked this video. I owe him one
I used to use Krita for colour back when I was mouse only, when I did my lineart with mouse+Inkscape. Moved to Fire Alpaca when I got myself a small screenless pen tablet because I found its stabiliser to be very good for my wack-ass hand. Haven't figured out a good setting on Krita's stabiliser yet to make it feel the same, but I'd love to come back and use it again, I miss some of the things I used to be able to do with it.
Aw man. I am also going to make a comment that’s pretty much me screaming to the void over one of the only practical digital art tool I can use for the time being because I don’t like adobe and am unsure if I should pay for any tools right now. I don’t have a tablet at the moment and my skill is extremely beginner like. Don’t mind me I guess. Maybe this accountability will mentally get me somewhere

I love seeing open-source software getting some love! Nice one Ina~
This was both fun and very informative stream on some of the tools with Krita.
Also, Sleepy headed Ina was adorable and precious.
I hope she gets all the rest she needs
At least 1 person here was just looking for a Krita tutorial and ended out falling through a massive hole.
Also Ina's face looks very... inviting in the thumbnail 😳
thanks ina for showing on how to use krita ive been trying to use it for a while and didnt really know how to use it till i saw your stream
Perfect time for me to actually find this, I just got Krita and I didn't even know this video existed. It feels nice learning from Ina.
This stream is a gem. I wish Ina could continue these kind of stream
your video is truly new to the program pov! its pretty neat and i've learned alot along with you! thank you!
I've actually been hoping to find an easy to understand krita tutorial of sorts so I'm happy ina did this! I've been fumbling around with it and doing basic stuff but I'll go through this video the next time I try drawing :> it's cool that she's trying to introduce more people to drawing and practicing art, it makes me want to follow along with her art videos lol
2:12:41 We've made it boys, I finally got recognized!
I didn't know that was a thing that's awesome. Damn.
Good job m8
Nice!!!! Congrats, waiting for the ground pounding Ame (?).
for the stream Ina, poor braincell ran out of juice at the end, if only we could give you some of the sugar your streams give us daily...
"CHAT! Lend me your energy!"
If she could convert the sugar she gives us into engery she would be more energetic than Kiara and Ollie combined :D I cant even imagine a hyper Ina.
本当にありがとう、特に私のようなアーティストとして、あなたからたくさんのことを学びました
Poor tako. Literally ran out of juice by the end of the stream
Chat: Ina, get some coffee.
Ina: I already had coffee, well I spilled half of it but yeah.
Chat: BRUH
i just dow-nload krita and never knew about this stream. now this is very good, as I enjoy tako and learn at the same time
i've already fallen to rabbid holes since january..
just now i was looking for krita tutorial and found this in recommended...
wow
i literally tune in live for the first few minutes of ina's streams just so that i can hear her go "wah!" then "ina ina ina!"
*gasp*
finally! ive been using this program over a 2 years now and i love it
its nice to see a vtuber using this program
Thank you for teaching us about Krita in the stream. We like your painting of Noel and Flare senpai so much, we can't wait to see it until finished. Thank you for the stream as always, Ina. It was so good!
Really helpful, Ina! Thank you for this vid :)
This is gonna be so helpful, I’m glad I found this 💜
Want to try again to learn to draw so went back to this stream to see how Ina set up krita. Is quite interesting how different and similar past Ina and present Ina are, kind of strange to hear "yap yap yap" on this video now that yap is a popular word in 2024. Anyway Im glad Ina is still here with us and that she did lots of art, gesture drawing and doodle streams; its time to renew my Inacademy student membership and start a new semester!
this takes me back.
Christmas tako is soooooo cute !! Ina is top tier comfy and wholesome and pure and adorable
Noel & Flare are so adorable! This was fun to watch.
"Trial and error"
Yup, that was also me back in 2019 when I used krita for the first time lol
also...
density: how thick the line is
opacity: how visible the line is
As a Krita user, this made me very happy.
thanks for covering my program of choice for digital painting
not a lot of mainstream channels do that haha.....
37:10 How can i replicate this in clip studio?
The view -> rotate -> flip horizontally option mirrors the image according to the center of the screen.
The canvas -> rotate -> flip horizontally option moves it to center of the screen, but then mirrors it there.
none keep it in place after i've moved it.
i was trying to figure this out too wondering if this is a better method until i realized something after testing it out in clip (even after using clip for years lmao):
its not replicable in clip but imo it's not entirely necessary. the first one is more useful when you want to work on a portion of the artwork. as long as the area you're focusing on is somewhat centered in your viewport, your view will remain on that portion even after it's flipped
the 2nd one is just the same as what Ina mapped in Krita, except Clip adds the step of centering the canvas too as you mentioned. either way, the disadvantage to this way of flipping is that you'll have to move the camera back to the other side of the canvas to the portion you were working on. check 1:09:00 onwards when ina starts sketching, you'll notice she has to keep pulling her canvas back to the center to reach the working area. i think this method is great for assessing the whole artwork but not while working on a portion. im guessing her huge cintiq24 screen size is a factor especially when she has to bring the floating windows closer to her comfortable drawing position, so she cannot totally center the work area for flipping using the first method
i prefer not to strain my hand constantly pulling around the canvas even if i use a smaller setup, so i use the first method but really, it's up to preference and workflow
Everyone: Focus learning Ina's lecture.
Me: Am I the only one who admired Ina's handwriting? Her handwriting is so good😭
Somehow I forgot that she made this. Now I search for a tutorial, and I found a tako.
So.... I guess I just never watched this stream. But now I'm trying to learn how to draw and this is an amazing surprise!
thank u for the lovely lesson tako 😄👍
Krita seems pretty cool!
Its funny thinking that as this was steaming, mumei was watching it as a none hololive member
tbh i did not expect a vtuber video helping me with krita this much
perfect krita tutorial lmao!
Me: I want learn to express the darkness of human nature through digital art...
This sweet happy woman: WAH!
Very chill. Cant find this kind of content elsewhere. 100%would simp again fro.. I mean learn from Ina again.
WAHH I WISH I DIDN’T MISS THIS STREAM BUT THANK YOU FOR THIS
Wow! Thanks, Ina! I am a 3D artist and Unity Game Maker but I'm learning 2D-3D Modelling/Drawing. I am using the blender program and I was looking for a 2D program. Thanks for showing this program!
Bruh trying getting into digital art recently and now Im here.. Looks like I've come in full circles
Some how Ina find me when I'm thinking of drawing.
Was looking into Krita to learn digital drawing and look who I found, my oshi. Heaven smiled upon me this day.
Nice! Krita is indeed one of the best drawing apps that are free.
krita is so good, i dont even know 1% of the features in it but it's super nice
krita is going to be caught in the rabbit hole, lol, welcome krita!!!!!
Thank you past Ina for this video! ;-;
1:04:48 Ok but why is it not 'I'll be back Ina moment!' or just 'Back Ina moment!' amiright?
I'm using Krita right now too and knowing that a popular artist is using the same software made me feel excited.
I came here 20 days later on Christmas because I got myself a Wacom Intuo CTL-4100 for Christmas. I also missed this stream.
Ina advocates for FOSS? absolutely based.
I've been using an ancient portable version of paint tool SAI for 8 years, it's a bit outdated so time to switch!
estaba buscando donde entender mejor krita y 2 dos años despues lo he encontrado mi casa
Love your drawing! ✨ keep sharing
Once I saw this, I knew...this was going to be wonderful
*Starts here:* 4:01
I used to use Krita for colour back when I was mouse only, when I did my lineart with mouse+Inkscape.
Yoooo I've been using Krita for years! This oughta be helpful!
"Lets learn pain and suffering together"
There is something about ina that makes me feel doki-doki
Thank you for this tutorial Ina-Sensei !
Maybe this accountability will mentally get me somewhere
those are some great handwriting
