Looks pretty well made , and just looking at the GT1 specs , it has a 150 KG payload , it is obviously built well to take that sort of load , when many others are way below that payload figure.
The price is "high" because of the fit and finish. If you compare it to the Nami Burn E-2 (non max) its currently $100 more but it beats it in every single fit and finish category but has similar performance specs.
You guys always make entertaining and informative videos, without exception. Thanks for your efforts in promoting the LPEV as a viable everyday transport option. YES! Finally, turn signals where they can be seen. Great job Segway, and thanks ESG for highlighting this feature. Hopefully more manufacturers will realise that e-scooter riders value visibility probably more than just about any other road users because we're hard to see but arrive at places much faster than most motorists are used to seeing from conventional cyclists. I love this step forward, which should become the standard. If we all speak together, maybe more manufacturers will listen.
Great content! Been watching a few content producers in this space, and I think you've got a solid format. Good mix of science/raw facts with a blend of comparison that I always appreciate so I can put a bit more context to things - especially if I haven't tried one of the others personally. Thank you!
Just got my GT2 delivered this morning. It's charging up right now. This should help me with my morning commute from El Sobrante to Orinda and back. My first scooter couldn't do the direct commute. It was a 5th Wheel V30 pro from Amazon
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide they sell the gt2 3,100euros here in greece where i am from also thats almost the same price the sell the dualtron thunder(about 100e more). i must say that we got a minimotors dealership near my house also with service, parts and accessories tho i cant say the same for segway. the other thing i must say is that i dont buy online cuz i dont have a card so no online shopping for me lol. what would you guys pick? :)
The GT2 is interesting to me. I like that they're using the original non-Ninebot Segway's locking system. Also, there's a Segway authorized dealer near me. The issue with all of our cool toys as PEV owners is that unless you are skilled in repair or have a trusted source, these could become expensive parts for sale after a while. I sold my Segway i2 ($5K+ used purchase price) for $400 after the batteries ($1K each) died. Now I have two electric unicycles and an e-sk8 that I can't even add air to without help. So I'm that person who needs a repair spot and that weighs more on my decision than super specs.
I've had mine for two weeks and I weight 300 lbs. Unbelievably good scooter for ~30 mile daily commute. I just keep the speeds below 15 mph to make sure I can make the 30 mile trip.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I’m fortunate to have a straightforward bike trail and bike lanes to get all the way to work. No parking, no traffic, it’s worth it!
I've ordered the GT2! Thanks for the Review! My lightly used 72v Wolf King will be going up for sale. Honestly, I drive a Honda Valkyrie 1800 motorcycle that goes 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, but the Wolf King scares me.
Valkyries are something else! So much torque. The GT2 has a Honda-esque feel to it. You know how Honda makes everything a little bit heavy, very very solid and holds back on performance a bit for the sake of reliability. Even the handlebars feel a little Honda-ish (these are all good things). -Paul
Great review, and killer scooters. Way out of my price range, but it's great to see the competition at the top end. What happens at the top end now will be the next gen of the tier below it, and two gens away of the tier below that, and so on. I have to imagine in like 4-5 years most scooters worth buying will offer something similar to this at the very least.
@@JamesFaction an electric motorcycle is a hell of alot more expensive. A first Gen low powered zero second hand is already more expensive, let alone a new one. Also a motorcycle you don't just store indoors, this one although quite bulky for a escooter is still something you could but in the hallway of your home for example without it getting really in the way
@@JamesFaction idk where you're from but here the closest electric motorcycle would be a second hand zero that costs 7k and thats a first Gen, new electric bikes are over 5 times the price of this scooter
the speaker playing different engine sounds and simulating revving and accelleration's one of my favorite things about my G30. I don't use it much but sometimes I do and I always get strange looks from people lol. One night around Midnight I was riding to the store and had it full blast on V8 mode. There was a homeless guy sleeping on the edge of the sidewalk who I didn't see. He heard it and woke up yelling thinking he was about to get run over by a motorcycle. I felt bad so I put on the breaks and went back to check on him. Took him a minute to understand what had happened. I ended up showing him all the different engine FX's and revved them all. He thought it was hilarious. Most people think it's neat but pretty stupid when I show them. I've gotten some good laughs when I sit there revving my scooter like it's a Lambo. Mostly everyone's disappointed when I tell them the top speed's only 18mph. And no shocker here, but females aren't impressed at a grown man revving a scooter like he's some sort of bad-a$$. While it's a gimmicky feature, it's not totally useless. On max volume it's definitely loud enough to possibly keep you safe as people will hear it. Sucks Segway won't let you pair 2, I'd love to set up dual exhaust lol. And it actually sounds pretty decent for playing music. My regular BT speaker sounds much better, but this gets fairly loud and sounds pretty clear. And my other speaker won't do the engine thing. You can link 2 of them to an iPhone or Android for music if you really want to rock out. Downside, the battery life's horrible and it drops connection randomly and starts talking to me in Chinese, I'm guessing telling me I need to pair it or something. The v8 sound on full volume would be much cooler on the GT2 going full speed. I need to figure out a way to afford one.
Thank you so much for the review J.R.! I can't wait to try it! I didn't know it would work on the G30! I have a similar feature on my 4-series BMW that uses the stereo speakers to pump in fake engine sound. I coded it to sound like an M4! I thought it was silly when I first read about it, but it's really fun! -Paul
ESG is my go to when I want to buy a scooter thanks for what this channel is doing for scooters community , u guys always objective. The only regret I have about this video is we did not get a chance to hear about the approval of Ramier is it Dawg approved or not ? lol great video can't wait to get my GT2 in August.
Ramier says it's definitely Big Dawg approved. We didn't include his report, since the video was almost 2X the length we usually make. Let us know how you like your GT2 -Paul
Great review as always. Overall a good design and progression in PEVs will only help consumers in the long run. That weight spec though. Need to hit the gym to start handling these new scooters.
Too bad I already bought the Apollo City, which is in a completely different class. I would’ve invested in the GT1 but I think I can’t fit any more scooters at my place for now lol. Maybe next year I’ll make room for one of these. Thanks for the awesome review Paul, I was still excited to learn more about these.
Great video. I’ve been looking forward to hearing more about these. I almost bought the GT1 when they had their secret $800 off special but two things held me back - 1) weight over 100 pounds, 2) Fairly small battery for such an expensive scooter. But otherwise I think they hit a home run with the design and manufacturing and I hope other vendors will follow. I’m looking forward to seeing what the P100S looks like as I think it will be a nice balance between the original Max and the GT1.
Hi Ollie, What do you think of the Vsett suspension? I wish it had hydraulic in the front and rear. The hydraulic suspension in the reat of our Vsett feels like it has lost most of it's damping. Has yours stayed the same, or has it lost some damping over time -Paul
I pre-ordered the GT2. It is the first scooter I will own after having ridden rented ones for a few years. Its time to own my own. When I pre-ordered, I didnt realize how big it really was, that wont change my mind. But is there anything you can suggest for this with regards to like a shoulder strap to carry it and what the best type of lock would accommodate this scooter? BTW, love your channel as I'm new to this and your videos are super helpful! :)
Awesome choice! One of the best locks is the New York kryptonite but we would not suggest leaving the scooter outside for long periods of time due to theft! A experienced burglar can cut any lock -Vosk
This is really cool. After watching reviews from consumers who bought it Im going to wait for the next model perhaps it will be called the GT3 and hope they fix every little issue wrong with the GT2 that those people reported. Till then ill be enjoying the Max G2 then pass it to my son once the GT3 is out. These segway scooters are definitely well made man. I like that there is a Segway service center about 30 miles away from me.
I have enjoyed every product from Segway I purchased with unsurpassed customer service and build quality in their products. Waiting for the motorcycle but I’ll probably take a long look at the gt2. It could very well be my next scooter and I’ll pass down my modded ninebot to my oldest son.
Hey ESG would you guys consider doing minimum range tests on the scooter like ginger on wheels, by going on highways or long roads at the highest speeds nonstop till battery dies
That's a channel we don't follow, so I'm not sure what they do. To me, a true minimum range test would be to literally hold it at full throttle from 100% to 0%. So 61 mph on the Wolf King until the battery died, (or the motor controllers fail) or 58.8mph on the NAMI, etc. I'm not sure how useful that would be, since it's not something people are likely to do. We can estimate range at that speed as (battery size in Watt-hours divided by peak power times top speed: (2520Wh/7200W peak power)*61mph = 21.4 miles, but the actual minimum range would be less because the standard peak power calculation uses a nominal voltage of 72V while top speed only really at full charge of about 84V minus voltage sag at full throttle. So we'd need to know the top speed at nominal voltage to make a better calculation. If we estimate top speed at 72V to be 50 mph, then we get 17.5 miles which feels like the right number of miles we'd get averaging 50 mph (starting at 61 and then sagging our way down to 40 and below) The next step down from sustained full throttle, I suppose, could be to run it at a pre-designated speed like 35mph for the scooters that would go that fast. It would need to be a loop or be flat in order for it to be scientific, with all of the scooters covering the same terrain, without an altitude-gain penalty. A chase truck would also be needed in order to fight the urge to cheat, by riding home with some small % remaining, and then make up for the cheat by estimating how many miles might be remaining in the battery. Cut-off varies wildly, some go for miles after 0% and some cut off before 0% so you have to ride to cut-off to really know how far a scooter goes. We always keep going until cut off and then push the scooters home from somewhere within the 1.6-mile range-test loop. With the Wolf King GT we covered 55 miles with speeds of 25 to 30mph between stop signs and stop lights on city streets. We used the same speeds for NAMI and the Segway GT's always using the same loop with the same amount of stop and go, the same amount of elevation change per loop, and a net elevation gain/loss of very close to zero. So I guess what I'm saying is that the important thing would be to do it scientifically, or it wouldn't mean anything to compare one scooter to another that way. The next best thing would be to take our range number, divide by 3 (for very fast scooters) to get the minimum range, and then average the minimum range with our range to get an estimate of what it would do at 35 mph or so. I come up with about 36 miles. I'll give some thought as to how we could use our existing data to come up with a range calculator. It would also be useful to be able to do it based on rider weight. -Paul
If you can somehow get an equation to estimate a scooters range so people can do it themselves before buying any scooter. Something like how car tuners with dyno tests for, automatic transmissions normally are 15% less then stated manufacturers bhp number and less % loss if in a manual transmission.
Really surprised we didn’t get 13 inch tires on these. Potholes are still a big problem for 11 inch tires and they aren’t very portable as is - seems like a missed opportunity to me.
I have a question about the Apollo city pro Considering it doesn't have a very good range versus other scooter of the same price do you think its worth waiting for the v3? And is it possible to maybe in the future change its battery for a higher capacity one of the same dimensions as technology evolve? By similar prices scooter I mean the emove cruiser 2020 (Not the 2021 one because im in Canada and its not available here)
The City ended up getting a bigger battery after our review came out. Not sure if you were looking at the old numbers or not. We added some notes to the review in the description and I think elsewhere. The V3 looks like a smokin ride. I would be sorely tempted to get a V2 and upgrade to V3 when the kit comes out or wait for the V3 to fully launch. -Paul
@@simonlalonde9919 I wouldn't call the City 2022 the v2 of the previous City. They're totally different scooters. With the City 2022, you're getting a v1. Your real question is if you should wait for the v2 of the City 2022. From my point of view the answer is probably, also keep in mind that the shipping date keeps on being pushed and is now july. Might end up being August or September,. who knows?
Oh I see Simon. Interesting point about future versions of the Apollo City. I'm curious if they will evolve it in an upgradeable way, like they have with the Phantom. -Paul
The brake and throttle option! Waving doing a burnout🖐 😈 Cruise control button and traction control. Bluetooth sound effects! Hopefully in the near future, these features will be more common on more scooters. 👍
Thanks ESG for making my decision that much harder (A GOOD thing).... I have a GT1 on pre order and was considering going the later to be released p100S for better portability yet after seeing your review it's making me re-think my options. Perhaps I can live with the portability factor considering the silky smooth ride quality. Perhaps I can use a ramp to put the GT1 into the back of my 4WD ? Now thinking of just keeping the pre order after all and give myself the headache of choosing between the Apollo City Pro and Segway p100S as my quick (grab & go) touring PEV for holidays, etc. The future of PEV's looks so very exciting, cannot wait to see what is unveiled on the Apollo front come 2023 to rival Segway's new line up. Nothing like healthy competition to help 'drive' innovation and advancement in this exciting industry. Once again Kudos 👏 to y'all at ESG for your contribution to the PEV community, outstanding!!! Take a bow !
Hi Poom, There are many opinions about what voltages are safe for humans to touch. Some (OSHA in the USA) say anything above 50V needs special care, and others say the limit it 60V. The eSC racing scooter uses a sub 60V system so that the riders could crash a scooter and then still pick it up and continue racing without having to go through tech inspection first. There are other variables too, like wet bare hands vs dry bare hands. For practical purposes, there are tens or thousands of >60V and 72V scooters out there, and I haven't heard of any rider injuries, as the batteries are well protected by the scooters and the BMS and charging ports seem to do a good job of keeping everyone safe so far. -Paul
Awesome review guys! The pair look like beasts, awesome cruisers with the ability to light it up when needed. What were they like moving them around in the garage, living room, hallways etc...are they about the same foot print as an Ebike for example...they do look enormous. ..I'm thinking that 100lbs is too heavy for most riders to move around their homes...unless they're just rolling into their garages...also maintenance on something this large could be tricky. Are the tires proprietary or were they a brand people can buy locally? Solid review...not for me on the third floor without an elevator but interesting nonetheless :)
The tires are made by CST, (Cheng-Shin Tire) the world's largest manufacturer of scooter tires. I haven't seen this tread pattern before, but the 10 x 3.5 inch size is pretty standard for beast scooters. They definitely need to be rolled everywhere. With a bit of a grunt, you can hop the front tire up a curb when pushing, but it takes a little technique and all of my strength to pop it up. Fortunately the deck is high enough that the rear rolls right up after the front without the belly of the scooter scraping (at least on the normal looking curb in front of ESG). -Paul
the tires are 11x3.8 and they are superb street tires. the scooters are quite heavy and not very easy to move around: for example I move mine up 2 steps from my garage into my house using a 10x2 board. even with this board it is not a small task, I have to adjust the scoot so as to swing it thru the doorway
Oooh! I'm super curious about the E45. How do you ike the rear electronic brake? Does it feel exactly like normal regen, or is it a little different? -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide The e brake is smooth and effective. One can adjust how responsive the e brake is in the app. Same as adjusting the regen responsiveness. The regen feels like a nice automatic gradual slow down (depending the level selected in app) and is lovely to use instead of the e brake at slower speeds. nice gradual slow down.
Yeah, that was a surprise Curt. I feel like the lower top speed was intentional on Segway's part, though the top speeds we hit were below the firmware limit of the scooters. On the GTs and the BURN-E 2 I never found myself mssing the top speed, for any practical use. A rare squirt up to top speed on a 50 to 60 mph scooter tends to be a teeth-clenching, eye-watering, "there-I-did-it" sort of event. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Similarly to the ninebot max, I suspect mods coming out increasing top speed. I love segway so much more than any other pev company, whether its comparing eucs/ow's or e-scooters I just trust them the most due to their engineering
It’s front right and left rear, just like motorbikes. For some reason in the USA only they reverse it for pushbikes only, but most anywhere else it’s consistent.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide That is a bit of a drive from Surprise AZ, but if you happen to visit Phoenix area anytime let me know. You can test/review Bronco Xtreme 11 i have if you don’t get your hands on one. 2800+ miles and a thrill to ride each time! Regards, Paul
Thank you for this review you answered every question I could think of and some I didn't know I should ask. The price point I would maybe go in a different direction but Amazon has interest free payment options on the gt1 going to wait a little longer and hope they add the gt2 but I would be happy with either one as a back up epv for my regular commute. I am use to speed having a sur-ron LBX as my main commuter. Love it so much but needing it everyday makes repair and maintenance even upgrades difficult with a limited time frame to complete.
The gt2 looks like my perfect scooter. Enough power but not too much. Cool rider assist features. Limited top speed. I have about 0 interest in cracking 30mph on a scooter. I generally cruise 15-20
Yeah, it's easy to get focused on headline numbers like top speed (we're partly to blame for this too) and lose track of rideability. I'm very excite to see the direction scooters are going with better throttle control and more stability. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Nailed it, brother. Hill climb, range, safety and comfort are my biggest wants. The only knock I see on this one is portability but that’s why I like range because I don’t want to pack these beasts, I just want to ride them instead of drive. As far as speed, my Ghost can go 37mph with me on it. I’ve done it like three time in a year, all within the first month of ownership, just to see. It’s real rare I crack 20mph.
Best looking Super scooters so far on the market! Anyway, have you guys tried out the regenerative/e-brake feature on the GT2? I heard from users they updated their GT2's to enable that features and the horn beeping sound has been improved thanks to the latest firmware from Segway.
Shame they didn't adapt the pegasus's solid, wide wheel design.. one of the coolest tire designs I've seem in any, scoot! 100% Flatt free, worry free @30mph
Hi Kaioken 99., I just saw your message now. Solid tires on this scooter would be absolutely terrifying! There just wouldn't be enough traction to handle the power or the weight. A larger version of Segway E22-style tires would work though. The E22 uses a polyurethane foam insert inside of a normal tire. It gives 90% of the ride experience of an air-filled tire without a chance of getting flats. The downside is that the foam eventually sacks out and needs to be replaced. It also costs a little range to use foam-filled tires. -Paul
You said it had the best braking but thats incorrect, you achieved a 15Mph/24KM/h - 0 Brake test in 2.6m with the Inokim OXO in the same test! Love your reviews though!
I'm actually very impressed with these stats. I have the VSETT10+R and am very impressed with the performance and only see one positive upgrading which is the cruise control! I just cannot maintain a slower.... Wait I just realized I have my acceleration all the way up ahahaha. Still tho that cruise control sounds amazing! My ebike has that and is a game changer when I want to cruise for long periods.
L-shaped scooters are struggling in stability department, finally Segway did it. I will upgrade my G30 II Max for GT1 or GT2, that's for sure. Hard to decide between them. Next time you should test offroad usage, this was really lacking from these tests, but also wet braking would be easy to simulate on a road. My only complain is the 11' inch tyre. I think, if not a portable scooter is designed from the get go and the overall weight is that high - they should increase tyre size for better pothole management. Dualtron City shows increadible nimble ride, just because of that 15' inch tyres.
Oops! Ramier says I’m looking at the wrong time stamp. It is me! Those are converse. Not sure which model. Picked them up at Ross for super cheap! They’re slip ons, even though they look like they lace up. -Paul
ESG Team, At around the 4:15 mark of the review, you advise "Recommended Settings" for front and rear shock dampening. Four questions on that, if you'd be so kind: 1. As adjustable hydraulic shock dampening is commonly recommended on a per-rider, per-payload basis, can you advise why these click settings are your general recommendation? Do these values presume a certain rider weight or riding style? 2. Similar to #1 above, what rider weight and riding style (max comfort vs. max performance) was the focus when these click values were finalized? 3. Some GT owners have commented that they believe that Segway mislabeled the "Slow" and "Fast" settings on the label for the front and rear knobs, with rotations to either side being the opposite of what's labeled on the vehicle. In particular, the left and right side labels for the front shock seem to contradict one another. Do you find that to be the case, or no? 4. From the video review, a hand seems to be adjusting the front shock knob from the "back side," meaning the red knob is on the other side of the shock. Segway seems to indicate that front shock adjustment (clockwise and counter clockwise) should be done from the "front side" of that red knob. Can you advise from your perspective and assessment? 5. The GT front shock has accessible preload adjustment on the bottom, and though the rear shock is semi-hidden under the deck, it offers the same. Can the ESG team advise anything on that front, in terms of optimization?
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide ESG Team, any chance someone can ping Paul internally for feedback on this question? I know a bunch of GT owners in the community would be super appreciative if he could provide detailed feedback on this!
Thanks for pointing this out to me over in the Apollo Pro Review. I missed this one. 1. Do these values presume a certain rider weight or riding style? No. I think this is the best starting point for almost everyone. The range is something like 20 clicks, but I think everyone will end up within a couple clicks of the settings I suggested. On a more expensive and finely tuned shock, like the >$1,000 Ohlins shock on my race bike, about half of 10 of the 20 clicks would be in a usable range. On electric scooters, only about 4 to 5 clicks of the 20 are useful for anyone. All the way tight is over-damped for everyone and a few clicks looser than the suggested settings and you've basically lost all damping. 2. Similar to #1 above, rider weight 165lbs. Riding style: Sporty, somewhat aggressive, street. 3. Some GT owners have commented that they believe that Segway mislabeled the "Slow" and "Fast" : I didn't notice this, but can check (if I remember, on Monday. I'm off today). I've gotten this one wrong before, thinking it was "F for Firm, and S for soft", but you're correct, it should be slow and fast. 4. From the video review, a hand seems to be adjusting the front shock knob from the "back side," Clockwise and counterclockwise should always be facing the top of the knob, but it's possible they have described it backward. I haven't looked at the manual in a while. -Paul
Thanks Mike. It's a very different experience riding any of the light heavyweights (10X, Vsett 10+, Phantom etc) vs these two power sleds. Enjoy your 10X! -Paul
Doesn't the GT2 have cooling vents right behind the wheel for the battery? How does that handle dirt/water? Can the battery be replaced by the end user?
Quick question, for the range test, what's the weight of the rider? Also was your terrain mainly flat? What I mainly want out of this scooter is long cruises, I'm perfectly fine riding single motor, eco mode (19 - 24 avg/mph). I'm hoping to get 40 miles of range in that config, I weight 215 pounds and where I live its all flat terrain, what are my odds? Great video, I've probably watched it 7 times so far... :D Hope you guys do a deep dive! Kind regards, Chris.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide It's not a matter of like or dislike. On a motorcycle you clearly can clinch your thighs into the sides of the bike for some stability / support. There is non standing while zipping around on a twist throttle scooter. When you're falling back you accidently twist the throttle making the situation worse.
I feel like there is probably room in the deck. I haven't opened it up to look though. For sure the GT1 could hold the larger GT2 battery, since they are the same size deck. -Paul
Any idea yet whether these will be easy to derestrict in countries where we have speed limits for use on public paths and roads? No mentions of a menu option on the display… For use on private land, obviously!
i cant wait for it to be released in public! i love the design and its features! i was torned between nami and wolf gt. but i guess i'll wait for this !!!!
Did you have any issues connecting the Bluetooth engine speaker? I have a a p100s and it’s not connecting, another video showed a GT2 connected to the speaker but in the comments it sounded like people weren’t able to connect to the GT series scooters also. Did you have to update the firmware of the speaker somehow?
Great video. They make great products, but treat the customer terrible. Majority of backers who ordered a GT 6 months ago in March on Indiegogo are still waiting on delivery. They arrived at the US warehouse in July, and they said they would be delivery late August. Then they said early September, now they are saying delivery won't be until sometime in October.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thank you for responding. i love your vids and value your ride test on the scooters. our roads here are full of holes and bumps. i was hoping to get this. i am currently using ninebot g30lp and thinking of replacing it. since i am aiming for a fast but with a priority of quality and safety ride even when it's raining. will you recomend this or do you have something in mind?
These are super interesting however I wish they'd be a little more compact. They're pricy but the build is kind of unmatched. That being said I think Apollo Phantom or Vsett 10+R would be a slightly better fit for me.
I think they went for it on the size and weight in order to get the stability. I'm super curious to see what their other new scooters the P100 and P65 are like. -Paul
Do you believe that the seat attached could exist for it ? As it does on the ninebot? Or do you think it could fit on the gt2 or is the base shaped/ sized differently . Thank you for replying
I know its a year later but best buy is selling the GT1 for $1400... I want to grab one but I heard they had a big issue with burning controllers fairly quickly, anyone know if thats BS or if the issue was fixed? Every scooter I've had so far I've had to work on as much as I ride, I don't want to have to turn a single screw besides very basic maintenance.
Stupid question. Is it bad to run only one motor on a dual motor. I’m hearing mixed reviews. Some say it’s more harder on one and can damage the other. Or you burn more battery using two or save if using 2. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
The design looks amazing, complex and practical. The only improvements I would do its the height from the ground and some bigger wheels. Overall, the design ITS AMAZING !!! One of the thing that I love its the central console and the cockpit. They are strong and very dope looking. Also the water guards are finally doing its mission straight outta factory. These scooters should influence all scooters that will be made from now on.
I have a question, I have a gt2 when the scooter is on the park it is quiet but when I turn on any of the eco modes or sport from below something gently hums, is it normal? And when he switches to the park after a few seconds, is it quiet again? Is this some kind of cooling system?
Fantastic review! I think for the people whom are stating the Segway is to expensive purely based it's specifications simply don't understand how much R&D went into these scooters. The Segway GT2 is hand and shoulders above any scooter fit and finish wise. Not to mention the state of the art ergonomics controls.

Looks pretty well made , and just looking at the GT1 specs , it has a 150 KG payload , it is obviously built well to take that sort of load , when many others are way below that payload figure.
overpriced junk
Power/range to weight is terrible. If they fix that I think they would have a winner (or 2) on their hands. They both need to lose more than 30lbs!
Will be a nightmare to repair
I think the Nami Viper is better for this price, also foot rest on this segway looks ugly too,Nami looks like Enterprise for this Segway
The fit and finish is awesome, but the price is just too high for the specs. Just my opinion. Thank you very much for this detailed review. Cheers.
segway's prices are always to high if you ask me but there quality is very good i think. :)
Thanks Bud! -Paul
I agree love the quality and new look and features but I seen 8000 watt scooters with less cost about $3k less than this.
The price is "high" because of the fit and finish. If you compare it to the Nami Burn E-2 (non max) its currently $100 more but it beats it in every single fit and finish category but has similar performance specs.
That was my first impression also, I would like to see how they compare to other 2500 and 3500 dollar scooters.

Enjoy your new scooter

Good scooters in a lot of ways but being so bulky and heavy defeats a bunch of reasons to choose a kick scooter over, say, an electric motorbike
@@JamesFaction an electric motorcycle is a hell of alot more expensive. A first Gen low powered zero second hand is already more expensive, let alone a new one. Also a motorcycle you don't just store indoors, this one although quite bulky for a escooter is still something you could but in the hallway of your home for example without it getting really in the way
@@championxxlNL more expensive? Not true at all. You can get something that does more for the same money.

the speaker playing different engine sounds and simulating revving and accelleration's one of my favorite things about my G30.

In my opinion I would chose the vsett 10+ because it has suspension and it also has a boost mode and double motor and that's why I chose the vsett
Honestly the P100S seems like an ultimate general/commuting scooter. As long as top speed won't be capped at 25km/h in EU, I will buy it 99.9%.
Hi Ollie,
What do you think of the Vsett suspension? I wish it had hydraulic in the front and rear. The hydraulic suspension in the reat of our Vsett feels like it has lost most of it's damping. Has yours stayed the same, or has it lost some damping over time
-Paul

I pre-ordered the GT2. It is the first scooter I will own after having ridden rented ones for a few years. Its time to own my own. When I pre-ordered, I didnt realize how big it really was, that wont change my mind. But is there anything you can suggest for this with regards to like a shoulder strap to carry it and what the best type of lock would accommodate this scooter? BTW, love your channel as I'm new to this and your videos are super helpful! :)
Awesome choice! One of the best locks is the New York kryptonite but we would not suggest leaving the scooter outside for long periods of time due to theft! A experienced burglar can cut any lock

If we estimate top speed at 72V to be 50 mph, then we get 17.5 miles which feels like the right number of miles we'd get averaging 50 mph (starting at 61 and then sagging our way down to 40 and below)
The next step down from sustained full throttle, I suppose, could be to run it at a pre-designated speed like 35mph for the scooters that would go that fast.
It is pretty stable , we tested it for a while

I have a question about the Apollo city pro
Considering it doesn't have a very good range versus other scooter of the same price do you think its worth waiting for the v3?
And is it possible to maybe in the future change its battery for a higher capacity one of the same dimensions as technology evolve? By similar prices scooter I mean the emove cruiser 2020
(Not the 2021 one because im in Canada and its not available here)
The City ended up getting a bigger battery after our review came out.

Could you help explain more about the 52V safety? In what case this will be useful? By the way, awesome review here!
Thanks for watching
Hi Poom,
There are many opinions about what voltages are safe for humans to touch.
Thanks for watching and your kind words
-Vosk
yeah a unicycle is vastly superior to these things
HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIT! Thats a upgrade for me dawg! Love my e45, this is the absolute progression in the right direction.

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide That's it? 😆 It's like you have no opinion.
-Paul

ESG Team,
At around the 4:15 mark of the review, you advise "Recommended Settings" for front and rear shock dampening. Four questions on that, if you'd be so kind:
@paul can you take a look at this.

3. Some GT owners have commented that they believe that Segway mislabeled the "Slow" and "Fast" :
I didn't notice this, but can check (if I remember, on Monday. I'm off today). I've gotten this one wrong before, thinking it was "F for Firm, and S for soft", but you're correct, it should be slow and fast.
4. From the video review, a hand seems to be adjusting the front shock knob from the "back side,"
Clockwise and counterclockwise should always be facing the top of the knob, but it's possible they have described it backward. I haven't looked at the manual in a while.

Does it really have a 41” from deck to handle bar? Sounds good for a 6’6” dude like me then… :)
Plenty of room , RAMIER is 6-4
+12000 km on my GT2, still as fast when i got it, no issue, only tire and brake pad ! Québec city👍
Great promo 💪🏼 I like the 10X better price , performance an all💯
Thanks for watching
Thanks Mike. It's a very different experience riding any of the light heavyweights (10X, Vsett 10+, Phantom etc) vs these two power sleds.
Enjoy your 10X!
-Paul
zero 10x is wack, slow, heavy, weak stem, spongy suspension, poor brakes.
For its price hard to beat bro
Amazing review
Thanks so much for the kind words! -Vosk
Doesn't the GT2 have cooling vents right behind the wheel for the battery? How does that handle dirt/water? Can the battery be replaced by the end user?
You should be able to replace it if there are issues which there prob won’t be.
Riders weight is about 165lbs and all kinds of terrains and inclines on the fastest setting until it runs out of juice
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide THANK YOU SIR!
A twist throttle standing up with no support is insanity.
Some people like it some don’t! -Vosk
Do you know what kind of elements either scooter has in their battery pack?
I asked the Segway engineers. They assured me that the cells are top shelf but wouldn’t disclose exactly which brand. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide That would be terrible, as it would mean there's no room for a larger capacity battery pack.
I feel like there is probably room in the deck. I haven't opened it up to look though. For sure the GT1 could hold the larger GT2 battery, since they are the same size deck. -Paul
Awesome buy! Love it when you get your moneys worth!
Had a similar experience with buying a G30P max!
Totally agree!
Any idea yet whether these will be easy to derestrict in countries where we have speed limits for use on public paths and roads? No mentions of a menu option on the display…
For use on private land, obviously!
Best bet would be to ask your local dealer! Every place is different.
These could due well at 2k price point. 4k is not competitive. I would get a Yume Y11 or Emove Cruiser all day over this.
Many choices out there for sure!
i cant wait for it to be released in public! i love the design and its features! i was torned between nami and wolf gt. but i guess i'll wait for this !!!!
Thanks for watching
I like the heads up display and I'm glad seagway is evolving... because who would buy the old seagway in 2022 when fat tire e bikes exist
We also love it! Thanks for watching.
Is the ECG team ever going to do a review on the Ninebot F40? I would love one!
I really hope so! Not on the calendar at the moment. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Nice! I just ordered one for my B Day. First ever E-Scooter for me!
How does it perform on the slopes? I live in an extreme uphill and downhill slopes area.
Dual motor should have no issues!
Great analysis!!
Thanks so much for the kind words!

We have not had any issues!
Another awesome review, now can you convince me to buy the New Varla one Pro, review time again 😆
We should be reviewing it shortly
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide oh yea, my finger on the Trottle, waiting on your go 😆
Great video.
Thanks for the comments! Noted. -Vosk
Electric Scooter Guide
How was it on the bumpy roads? does its suspension work?
Yes it’s good suspension but can be made even better by swapping to adjustable shocks
-Paul
Vsette10+r is nasty cool and yeah the GT series is very pricy
Hey ESG, when do you plan to review the segway p100s?
Should be in the future! Not near
Will a seat attachment be available like on the ninebot max ?
We don’t have one yet
Do you believe that the seat attached could exist for it ? As it does on the ninebot? Or do you think it could fit on the gt2 or is the base shaped/ sized differently . Thank you for replying
Would you say the dual motor Segway GT2 or the Nami burn (the $3300 version of nami burn)?
Nami for the win! -Vosk
I know its a year later but best buy is selling the GT1 for $1400... I want to grab one but I heard they had a big issue with burning controllers fairly quickly, anyone know if thats BS or if the issue was fixed? Every scooter I've had so far I've had to work on as much as I ride, I don't want to have to turn a single screw besides very basic maintenance.
are you guys going to be making a deep dive video on this scooter? I've watched this review like times 20 so far 😢
Nothing is planned as of now! Thanks for watching. It’s an awesome scooter.
-Vosk
Patiently waiting for the NIU KQi3 Pro review.
Not sure it will be anytime soon
We have one in the office, but it's still in the box. Looking forward to testing it, whether we review it or not. -Paul
Please test the new ZT3 Pro when it'll be available !
Very soon!

Scellent review
They look really good that’s for sure. And yes I’ll bet the house that they put a sh*t load of R&D into that thing 👍🏾💯
Thanks for the kind words & for watching

Stupid question. Is it bad to run only one motor on a dual motor. I’m hearing mixed reviews. Some say it’s more harder on one and can damage the other. Or you burn more battery using two or save if using 2. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
Always better to run both motors! -Vosk
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thanks.
it's no longer 4k ..price drop $3,999.99😂
When I was riding down hill with breaks the acceleration stopped and scooter came to a stand still why? Thanks
Not sure! Please contact Segway for support! Thanks in advance. -Vosk
I hope other cheap brands like gotrax will also make expensive ones like this
That would be interesting. But also hard to picture. They'd need to step-up their stadard 90 day warranty! -Paul
These kinds of 0 tech companies can't. Their CEO just want to make a quick buck.
Very insightful! Thanks for sharing.

Only partially. 🤣
how does the Gt2 compare with the new Dualtron City scooter w/15in tires? both roughly price @ $4K
We have not tested the dualtron city yet! -Vosk
I have a question, I have a gt2 when the scooter is on the park it is quiet but when I turn on any of the eco modes or sport from below something gently hums, is it normal? And when he switches to the park after a few seconds, is it quiet again? Is this some kind of cooling system?
Most likely!
Thanks Jordan! -Paul
Hello could you try le bronco xtrem v3. it should be a peers for a nami burn e escooter.
I'd love to test one, but have never had the opportunity. They seem to be pretty rare. -Paul
