Putting gold foild on paper can be done with any laser toner printer...but I do love my iColor 560! Learn more about this white toner printer...and see what else you can do! www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/uninet-icolor-560-printer-and-pro-rip.html
Question do you have to put the foil on and heat press it right away? Or can I like print a large project and then add the foil to the laser ink like a day or two later? Im doing my wedding invitation inserts and I’m wondering do I do 1 or 2 invites at a time or should i print all 90 and then at a later time add the foil and press them? Or when the ink dries will the foil no longer adhere to it?
Hi being from the UK we use degrees , you said 305 degrees temp, i did that and almost set the house on fire, eek think you ment to say Fahrenheit, but anyway the foil laid down on the hole paper lol
I did this, but its like the foil crinkles and leaves lines before or as its pressing. Is it the foil im using? Im not buying minc or deco foil as you get a few sheets for a few attenpts. Doesnt seem worth it
Melissa!! I have been fiddling with foiling stickers, but I’m having some trouble. What kind of pad are you using on your heat press? Thank you so much in advance!!!
Tried it on a cheap press that I got for pressing t shirt prints on instead of using an iron. It didn't really work (worked with laminator for heat but thought hot press might work better instead of having occasional wrinkle going through laminator and having to touch up with quickie glue pen and foil so thought might get more uniform consistent result. As I say didn't work (presume the temperature quoted in blog link is in Farenheight (tried it on Centigrade and foil melted lol). I am printing with laser on thickish card, could that be problem, as think you used regular paper, or maybe it's my cheapo press, worked fine for t-shirts/injet printer gig but perhaps doesn't have uniformity of pressure, but best I got was blotchy adherence,
@@SilhouetteSchool it works fine with laminator though, using generic very cheap foil that have used for years with laminator, mark up for branded must be collosal :) so will go back to laminator where get 98% results but wanted to up it, maybe I'll try a minc
@@SilhouetteSchool Yes, that is what I’ve done but the foil sticks to the cardstock on areas that don’t have ink. I have tried reducing the pressure on the heat press and lowering the temperature. My only thought is maybe because the cardstock is textured or maybe specks of ink not visible to the eye are on the cardstock after printing.
The heat press I used is linked in this blog post where you can find more info on the foil: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/11/how-to-put-foil-on-paper-with-heat.html
What the difference between haet reactive foil and any other foil.? I seriously need to know so I don't buy the wrong thing. I know u sound stupid. But I'm new

This is just the bottom platen of my heat press - it has a silicone pad on it
Sweetly done. Thank you.😃❣️
Thank you! 😊
so pretty 😍😍😍

You may be using a different type of foil

Thanks for the video. How do I eliminate or prevent foil residue on outside the toner areas?
The foil is not going into the printer. The foil is laid on the printed paper after it's printed.

Hi! Thank you for sharing. I have a question: do we need a specific type of foil or can we use regular foil?
You’d want thermal activated foil.
Are you printing in CYMK or white toner for the holiday cards?
I just printed black on there, I didn't use any white toner.
Qual temperatura e por quanto tempo? Sou do Brasil e vc poderia deixar escrito!
Can I use Xerox printer?
What paper is it? Is it the regular paper or any specific paper for this?
Yes regular cardstock.
My foil was going on the whole paper not just the printed letters. Is there a fix for that?
Must be something off either there's toner in the wrong areas or the type of foil you're using isn't the right type.
probably the ink you use is not laser, that happen to my until I used laser ink
Thank you!!
hey melissa how are you can you plz tell me wich paper i can use for invitation card that can cut with cameo plz am from algeria bty
Hey there! Check out this blog post www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2020/12/best-cardstock-for-silhouette-cameo-and.html
Would an inkjet printer work or does it have to be a laser printer?
Inkjet does not work for this as you need black toner for the foil to stick to.
What brand of foiling paper is it
Hey there! The foil is linked in the description!
What are the parameters for heat press. Temperature / time
The heat press I used is linked in this blog post where you can find more info on the foil: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/11/how-to-put-foil-on-paper-with-heat.html
this is the machine you can melt prints on shirt with?
I'm sorry I do not understand what you are asking.
@@SilhouetteSchool can you use the design to put on a shirt is what i meant to ask?
@@zigma10473 Check out the description box, and it's the 8-in-1 Heat press machine. It is the same thing you are asking, I assume.
305 degrees Fahrenheit?
Yes
Why is my foil transferring where there is no laser ink?
Are you sure there is not little spots of toner on the paper? That's the only way the foil should stick

The heat reactive foil reacts with the toner of a laser printer when it is heated.
