How To Use A PS3 Controller With RPCS3

My controller somehow works everywhere else but just not in this program and here is how i fixed it WITHOUT downloading anything.
1. Go into Pads
2. Change the Player 1 config. (for some reason player 2 won't work)
3. Find your controller under "Handlers" for some reason my controller was under the MMJoystick command.
4. Remap all of your buttons and save it.

But in the pads section, inside dualshock 3, there isn't any pad is shown connected. Can you explain a bit more?

This totally worked for my BT controller. I found my controller under "SDL".

You don't need drivers any more. I have a PS1 Controller connected via USB to my Win 10 PC and it works after selecting the MMJoystick and under Devices your Joystick (There may be several there that are not "disconnected" just keep trying to configure it by pressing the Symbol buttons until you have the working one) Great video for showing you how to configure the PS Controller so Thank you TheHowToGuy

i had an off brand controller that was made by "voyee" and rpcs3 couldnt detect some of the buttons, so i changed the dropdown to MMjoystick and then i was able to map the controls.

i am using a 100% ps3 controller (becouse i have been playing on it for 8 years of my life and it was in the ps3 package, i never got a second one) and my lights are blinking red after installing the official driver. I donno what to do

This emulator connected to my ps3 controller before and I don't remember installing something to use a ps3 controller. I didn't play my emulators for a while and now my ps3 and 3ds emulators don't recognize my ps3 controllers. I tried this and it didn't work.

fyi, dualshock 3 was the LAST controller to support pressure sensitive face buttons. so if you wanna play games like mgs3 on rpcs3 you will require a ds3.

Dualsense and Dualshock 4 do not have pressure sensitve face buttons.

All the red lamps are blinking on my hand controll and on the emulator it says all devices are disconnected 😱

My computer thinks the controller is an xbox 360 controller and whenever i try and use it, it opens steam big picture mode 💀
problems:
1. unlike you, my lights lit up
2. its not being detected, no DS3 pad options are detected

yo im having some trouble when using the scptoolkit for my ps3 controller which is only usb no bluetooth and when i test the controller before downloading the drivers it works but after i download the drivers the tester doesnt work in devices and printers. and when i download the drivers my controller is just nonstop vibrating

Are you using a genuine Sony ps3 controller? Because this usually happens if you are using a fake or third party controller.

i find it so stupid how this controller cant work at all with regular bluetooth or using it as a regular usb u need to install drivers sony made which i find annoying while ps4 and 5 dont need it at all cause sony learned from that mistake of the ps3 controller
