Really hope this one comes back - this may be one of the best twists I've seen in a video game. Think about how many players stopped before they got to the point that you just reached!
You ring a bell to pass your turn, the tentacle card's damage is dynamic and shows a picture of the bell you keep ringing and says something about bell ringing, I'm fairly positive it gains one attack depending on how many times you ring the bell to pass turn before playing it so it's a good card to just hold on to to power it up.
That was my understanding as well. And the Cathulu with a mirror reflects the opponents attack power back at it. It gained the strength of 4 when it faced the shark which had an attack of 4.
Wow, 1 hour and 20 minutes is amazingly long for Jon's videos standards. I'd really like to see more, but specifically as a let's play, and not the livestream, so there's no pressure (or backseat gaming) from the audience ;)
This feels like such a good game. The creator seems to have realised that it needs more than the surprise factor of pony island, and this game has atmosphere and world building to match the style of storytelling
CAT and child 13 have LIMITED Sacrifices Cats have 9 lifes Child 13 has....13 At the camp fire the sentient cards dont want to be at the fore because they risk being EATEN,but if you use 1 of 3 certain creatures and its eaten the next canpfires are safe
I was about to click away from this game because I'm not normally into "card collection" games. But this one, with its "game within a game within a game within a game" mechanic really just pulled me in! This is awesome!
You know what this reminds me of? Hand of Fate. A spooky man sitting opposite you as you play a card game, and in Hand of Fate he even turns out to also be the villain. This leans much harder into horror than 'traditional RPG'-type mechanics like Hand of Fate did, but it looks *really cool* and has similar vibes. I'll probably pick this up, see how much there is to it.
I’m gonna be honest from what wev seen so far I wouldn’t really call it a horror game, more horror asthetic, like the only kinda disturbing stuff are some of the items like the knife that cuts your eye out or taking out a tooth, kinda like Pony Island it’s more darkly comedic than anything with the game master being kinda a funny guy with him getting into the characters and everythingz
At the campfire, there are certain cards that you may want them to eat. If you ever replay it, just make sure you look through your deck. I'll say no more.
jon, when you took a picture of the villain he was put into a card. It is in your line of sight stuck to the wall after you take the picture, before you run away and click the 'new game' thing that turned the lights off.
@@gjo79000 And then he immediately picks his card in the next game, mistaking him for someone else. (Did he even read the story, or is just another -1?) ;)
Powering up the Mantis card might be a decent idea? If I understand this correctly, it'd then do 2 + 2 damage across the board, which would be good for taking out weak cards like the Fawns before they become stronger. Also, in a game where the DM blatantly cheats, I wouldn't put all my eggs into one wolf-shaped basket.
I seem to remember this game having a demo or some kind of teaser a while back. You could also have prefaced this by saying "this is from the mad man who made pony island"
For those who don't know, ring worm is actually a fungus. People call it 'ring worm' because the skin on the edges of the colony will swell a bit, and people keep thinking it looks like a circular worm. When I briefly had it back in high school my mom outright refused to believe it was a fungus until I literally forced her to read an entry in a medical journal about it.
I somehow got ringworm when I was like 19 in beauty school. I don't have any pets and I don't go outside like in forests but I couldn't go back to school for 2 weeks.
I would guess that child 13 is a reference to the Jersey Devil. It's supposed to have been the cursed 13th child of it's family as I recall and the picture seems in line with it's usual depictions.
Worth noting, going to the pack with full items will get you a Pack Rat card every time. It's rather nice to have to fill out your deck (and you can sacrifice to spread its power). Also, you got Greater Smoke because you put out the three candles in the cabin over the course of three lives. It makes your Smoke card better. Also, did you notice the 11 o'clock by the Boon reward table? Might want to remember that for the future. Surprised you didn't show the videos before new game.
Yeah, his inability to infer because he doesn't pay attention to what the variables he can't get rules for do while playing makes his tactics incredibly frustrating.
Wow, an hour and a half long, creepy, 3d tabletop-style tutorial to a 2d card rpg. I gotta say, I expected a jumpscare at the end of the last fight and maybe a regular "New Game +" where you maybe got to start the tabletop game over with all the cards and buffs you gathered in the last game so you could grow your deck and certain cards to legendary levels; something along those lines. I did not expect what happened at the end whatsoever and I hope we get a vod of the stream for whoever missed it or just wants to watch it again later. I haven't seen a Let's Play that needs a part 2 as badly as this one in a LONG time. Forreal, though. We need this. It's critically important to the health of my dog. Otherwise she might die of hemorrhoids from dragging her worm-filled butt all over the asphalt road in circles to try and stop the itching. We may not be able to afford the basic over-the-counter medication she needs without this next video. Please press like to share her story, if you'd like. It means a lot. Thank you.
I once made a God death card by using the geck for price, the Ulayula for a 7-7 power and health, and a Mantis God's sigil it was free, and did 21 dmg per turn. meaning if I top decked it, I would make a 16 tooth profit each turn
I picked this up without knowing much and stayed up playing it until 6:30 AM, this game is incredible and it (almost literally) sucks you right in to its environments
I'm not if this is broken or not, but I gave my squirrels the unkillable trait and it's great. So I just sacrifice them over and over and get a ton of bones too.
On the table where you received the Boons, there is a symbol of a clock with 11 above it. If you ever play this in a Livestream, try unlocking the cuckoo clock by setting it to 11?! :D
The framing device makes me wonder if Jon has ever done an escape room IRL. If not, I think you'd get a big kick out of it. But... maybe not a horror-themed one.
@@CloakedC Well a full playthrough I saw on RUclips was somewhere around 8-9hrs. I have no idea how much editing Jon did, but I'd estimate about a quarter through.

Understanding this kind of game is really easy for me - like reading a 16th-century French philosophy book, written in braille in a dark room while wearing chain mail gloves as someone bashes my brains in with a colander made of molten steel. Easy.
Always love your playthroughs. I have been playing a game called Gearcity but maybe not your thing. The developer known as Eric.B will officially release it mid January on Steam. It is a one person effort started mid January 2010. I think it is very good.

By the way, this game is made by the same guy as who made Pony Island, which should instantly tell you it's not going to go the way you think.
This makes sense, it totally has that same meta scary vibe as Pony Island.
I was actually about to skip game and video before is saw your comment because turn based card buildzZzZzZzzZZ.
But now i'm not gonna.

I believe it depends on the card's position. 4/3/2/1. It MAY cancel every card after it the round you play it, but I'm not 100% on that.
@@poopnach Didnt played the card in the first act, but in the second act it definetely is stronger the closer it gets to the bell
