Reminded me of going to Rome with two others when stationed in Germany in 1966? Walked everywhere and a couple of excursions. Went to the Vatican. Walked up the dome to the top to view Rome. What a narrow stairway. It was cloudy as it had just rained. Really beautiful looking out at Rome. At that time just needed our ID and paperwork for leave. No passport.
The real balsamic takes any jarred marinara to heaven status. A pinch of sugar, a dollop of balsamic and grocery store sauce tastes like you paid gourmet prices. :) I add Spanish olives to my sauce too and that makes it super hearty. Now I'm jealous you went to the source.
food is such an amazing experience in Italy. I had the best times going out to eat with my friends. Kate, those wafers are awesome, you can get them in the U.S., places like Caputo's, Aldi, Home Goods or Italian stores.👍So much to see in IT. Definitely must go back to stand inside the Colosseum, it makes an impression.
Your Italy videos were terrific. You covered some of everything and I liked that. The camper looked great with the exception of the short bed. Take care of yourselves and safe travels.
So you both experienced; La dolce vita in Italy. I never heard anyone complaining the Italian gastronomy and only praises to the lifestyle and cuisine Italy has to offer. I loved the walks in the center of town when I lived there isn't it great? There are no worries of autos and you can walk with leisure. Thanks for the video.
We're in UK and the roads are so narrow we would have crashed our class B van every day if we ever shipped it over. I feel like my rental car is small but not small enough!
Wow the bed in that van would be a problem for me (Sean). Love the idea of going back to see the internal city perspective. I imagine there could be short term rental dropoffs too for the Van? Could be a cool service similar to renting a STO in the states?
Another wonderful vlog. Thanks sharing.....so glad I found you guys on RUclips. Checking out your books now!!!! Can't wait for the next post.....and also the next country???? 😊
We had two trailers that had full sized beds. Our park model has a queen and the extra length and width is definitely worth it. Home is a split king and for us, that's the ultimate, as it's basically two long twins and we each chose our mattress to fit our preferences. If we buy another trailer or an RV, we'll need to figure out if we'll sleep separately or get something with a bigger bed. Not sure what our dog will think if we sleep separately, she's used to the middle.
Thanks for sharing your adventures in Italy. Certainly I look forward to your return visit, too. Florence is magical. The Cinque Terra will be terrific next time. The campgrounds seem to be more civilized than here.
Lol, I bet sleeping in the camper made you wish for the first time, that you were 5’6” 😂! The food looked great, and I’m very glad that you took all of us along with you on this marvelous trip! Always my best 👏🏼👍🏼🖖🏼😘😘
Yes. The best way to get around italy is train to Airbnb and then use local metros busses or taxi. I loved Bologna and if you had more time you may have found some of the best food in the world. The Vatican and other sites in rome are best to do in a walking tour that allows your to skip the lines
Cool! You're in Europe! If you come to France visit us at Le Domaine Vert, a peaceful piece of paradise in the (organic) country side! We're volunteers there currently
Haha, I remember pay toilets in France. At least 30 years ago, but I still remember our mantra... "Here I sit broken-hearted, paid my dime and only farted."
Thank you for your video. Given your experience and time of year, would it not have been better to just fly in, go to a camper van rental company and pick what fits you from what is available on the lot? What drawbacks do you see to that approach? Take Care!
Are you back home? 😃 If still around in Italy and planning to get down to visit Rome, I can be for help. And suggest to stop for a visit in Orvieto ad well. Nice video as always.

My mouth is salivating.
Have they changed the rules about filming / photographing the original statue of David in the museum? We were told no filming or photography.
Everyone was and no signs or anything.
Very interesting!! Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Aldis, My fav!
Awesome video guys

y'all got a camper for hobbits's!
If you visit the Dolomites next time, rent a motorcycle, it’s absolutely fantastic.
Can you kindly provide us, if possible, the URL for your air b and b in Florence? Thanks!
Are you back home? 😃 If still around in Italy and planning to get down to visit Rome, I can be for help. And suggest to stop for a visit in Orvieto ad well. Nice video as always.

Joe needs to speak more louder. I can hear her just fine. Good video.
Wow, that two way road is smaller than a U.S. river walk/bike path. I think even Disney park walk paths are bigger. lol Silly Europeans. haha 😜
It’s pronounced MOH-DI-NAH.
That’s the way we pronounce it in the US but we were pronouncing it like the Italians do in Modena
