This guy makes brilliant videos. He not only presents excellent histories of the football clubs themselves, he also gives remarkable insights into the social histories of the places, as well. Thoroughly entertaining, incredibly informative!
Been to all of these and would recommend so, so many more. Around the country: Halkirk on the great plain of Caithness; the view across the pitch at Dufftown; Stoneywood Parkvale's weird collection of mini-stands, right beside the end of Aberdeen airport's runway; Arbroath, the best ground in the SPFL; Newburgh, down by the Tay; Whitburn, Dunbar, Whitehill Welfare's woodland, Cumbernauld Utd's beer garden, Lesmahagow's grassy wonders, Irvine Meadow XI's magnificent stand, Auchinleck Talbot, the timber temple of Creetown... and dozens and dozens more. We should be incredibly grateful to the volunteers and funders who give their time and money to maintain these wonderful spaces.
Try Ferguson Park, Whitehill Welfare's ground. Has a park bench under a little wooden canopy in the corner and a nice farmer's field and woodland walk next to it.
I’d love you to visit Gala Fairydean Rovers’ Netherdale stadium and get your thoughts on their A-Listed main stand designed by architect Peter Wormersley. Maybe even take in Hawick Royal Albert while you’re in the Borders
Another fantastic video Sam. Great to see you've included Nithside Park in the list. Did you know, however, that Nithside Park is the biggest of three football parks in Kirkconnel and Kelloholm? The other two have mainly been used for amateur Sunday League football. Those are "Tony Pierog Park" aka "Kirkland Park" which is straight across from my house and is the former home ground of Kirkconnel Amateurs, Kirkholm and Kelloholm Arms pub team. Unfortunately all three of those teams no longer exist, although Kellohom Arms were still playing there until covid 19 struck. The other football pitch is what was known as "The Jungle Park" for reasons I won't go into here. It's still there, but I don't think it's used for football these days apart from kids playing on it casually.
If you are looking for a new derby and possibly a new ground, maybe go to the Flintshire derby. Flint Town v Connah’s Quay Nomads, on the 09/12/23. They both play at the same stadium, in Flint, North Wales. That must make it the closest derby in the UK 😊
My top 10 favourite stadium 1 Partick Thistle 2 Rangers 3 Dumbarton 4 Dundee and Dundee, United, it looks cool 5 crazy one, Ashfield FC 6 heart 7 Aberdeen 8 air United 9 Hamden, and finally 10 one more crazy one I’ve been to and I liked Mary Hill, FC because you get so close to the action, good fun, that is everything I think is the best stadium🏴
I was at Cliftonville back in the early 70's watching Celtic in an early season league cup match with a young lad called Kenny Dalglish playing. Wonder what became of him?
This is such an interesting video. I have been to a few of these stadiums and know there are so many more that could have been included. Your enthusiasm for football grounds always makes me smile as I feel exactly the same when I visit football stadiums. There are so many amazing stadiums in Scotland!
I don't often plan that far in advance but once the fixtures begin to roll around I'll definitely consider it. Would love to see TNS go all the way haha!
just had to pause video at Crappielow.. that’s what us St.Mirren fans call it! Our biggest rivals and it was always a pleasure to win there. Having said that, it’s always great standing on terraces.. brings back great memories for me from Love Street
Love this one Sam . Me and my daughter are starting to go round the small teams to video them from a disability perspective. Will most definitely go to these
Albion Rovers held a certain charm for me and found them very hospitable. Cowdenbeath is a good one due to the oddity of the giant tyres for the stock car racing. QotS is too good for your shabby chic list though IMO.😄 I still have about 16 league clubs to do in Scotland Cappielow is one I'm looking forward to.
My favourite stadiums that I have been to. For Character - New Western Park. To Watch Football - Petershill Park For atmosphere - Celtic Park For the one big stand alone - ochilview.
My favourites are Cowdenbeath, Albion Rovers and Queen of the South. Plus the now disused ground at Shawfield. But of course the Daddy of them all and the best ground in the whole of the UK is the magnificent Oval at Glentoran FC.
Been to Stenny, Stair Park, Ayr United, Berwick Rangers and the Shire Fir Park ground. These Scottish clubs of which many have fantastic club and ground names which me are priceless. Liverpool or Third Lanark ? Chelsea or Queen of the South ? Manchester United or Civil Service Strollers ? However we all know that football was only invented in 1992 thanks to Sky and therefore history and tradition don't count.
It’s a rough wee toon but it’s got good people. I was born and bred there but emigrated to New Zealand. Got fond childhood memories of going there with my big brother on a Saturday morning in the 80’s. Far cry from Ibrox and Celtic Park but I agree I absolutely love the charm of the non league stadiums. Love your channel Sam. I watch every stream and I’m coming home for a holiday in May so I am going to try go see some of the teams and places you’ve shown. They always have the best pies too 🥧
You mention Hamilton as a modern facility, to me that's a shithole. That ground's design is probably the worst I've ever seen with the exception of Meadowbank, obviously. It's shocking.
Stranraer FC are in Dumfries and Galloway. That region is not just about QoS and the Lowand League and South of Scotland League teams. The BBC and any broadcaster ignore Stranraer, which includes this channel.
Palmerston is dire need of development (the main stand ought to be condemned) . Liked it in the 80s tho when fans walked side of pitch & swapped terraces at halftime .

He made a vid there around 3 years ago and goes into some detail about the stand. Was during Covid times so the atmosphere is somewhat lacking!
@@kludgie cool, will definitely need to check it out
Such a very rich history many of these clubs ! Many formed in the 1800's !

You won't be happy to hear that Ashfield aren't at Saracen Park any more, they're in a 3G cage at Stepford.
So your protestant then supports thistle but really supports rangers ??.
You can’t put Dens Park and Tannadice in the same position, Dens Park is literally falling apart!
I was at Cliftonville back in the early 70's watching Celtic in an early season league cup match with a young lad called Kenny Dalglish playing. Wonder what became of him?
I love your enthusiasm for Scottish football
Excellent vid, well done. Also recommend Ochilview in Larbert, home of Stenhousemuir and Station Park in Forfar.
Have you been to a game at Somerset yet..reckon you would like it..good terraces there still and im a Killie fan saying that😂

No Brechin City? That hedge is LEGENDARY!

Dens park is the most dire depressing dump in Scotland, Somerset park in Ayr is the best old school ground 👍

Nairn county and a £50 non League challenge would be nice 😮
You should try an alness united game in the Highlands
And also very good that you bro keep it up
👏👏👏
I’m a Londoner that spends a lot of time in Scotland and how Dens Park is not on this list is beyond me.. Absolute toilet of a ground!
No Somerset park either
Hi Sam could u visit creamery park in west Lothian Bathgate Thistle in the EOS 3rd div u are welcome have been to 2 junior cup finals in the past
I love these videos Sam but I think you're doing some of these grounds a favour by describing them as 'stadiums'😄
Haha "grounds" then 🤣
Not knocking it BTW. I prefer your non league, lower league vids to the 'big' clubs
Is Big Owen's bar still open near Cliftonhill?
Hi Sam, do you fancy coming to do a video on our fantastic set up at Sauchie??
I really need to!
Second best Beechwood park in Scotland. 😉
Good bit of history there m8 ..riots , Albion Rovers v Celtic, history of stadiums the lot.. cheers 👍🏼love all your vidz topman
Would be good to see a best and worst viewing position at stadiums visited.
No ibrox that's got to be up there with the worse stadiums
I’m surprised you didn’t mention Dumbarton Football Stadium
❤❤
Hey Sam you been to Neilston Juniors?
Sadly not for a game but I've seen it from the outside

Hi
Facilities? What facilities lol.
Palmerston is dire need of development (the main stand ought to be condemned) . Liked it in the 80s tho when fans walked side of pitch & swapped terraces at halftime .
Palmerston has my favourite end terrace in the country. Still a proper mighty shed.
