As a boot seller at a local boot shop I would like to add 1 thing to this. Most of us at brick and morter stores work on commission. By you getting the same price online as in store (yes you saved 16$) the person in the store lost his pay and the boot seller made more. Just my 2 cents.
I will add that I live your history videos and have learned alot from you and it helps me help customers. Thank you.

I am glad I got to see to see this video of yours. I purchased a pair of Tecova Johnny boots about 4 years ago. They are awsome boots, very comfortable. I've been looking for another pair of Tecovas, but nothing caught my attention. Then I seen your review of the Tecova Cartwright. WOW, beautiful boot, and I love the the distressed look. I am a very casual guy, I just turned 65 this May, so I am kind of distressed myself (LOL!!!). I trusted your review on the Stetson 10x Open Road straw, and I purchased one, and it has become my favorite warm weather hat, I wear it every day. I only take it off to shower and sleep. So as per your review and thumbs up of the Tecova Cartwright, I ordered a pair today. I'll let you know my thoughts when i recieve them. Love your channel.

I watched this video and your post-year review of these boots. I’ve decided to buy them. The only concern I have is my feet are a bit messed up from the Army and I wasn’t sure-due to the round toe vs square toe-if I should go to EE. 🤔 I suppose I’ll order the standard D and if they are too tight I can exchange them.

Seriously, they're probably fine as a fashion boot, but these are not meant for anything more than the mall.

Tecovas’ success is that they hit the $300-$400 price point which is the sweet spot at the moment that white suburbanites are willing to pay for casual wear. American boot companies have avoided that market, profit margin is slim for the boot quality at that price. And, Tecovas sticks to a conservative Central Texas style that sells across all pricing. Their boots are made in Leon, Mexico with Mexican tanned leather. Quality is modest, not great. Understand, the big box stores sell more boots combined in a day than Tecovas will sell in a year. A niche product, but good for them.

So what you're saying is the piping is there because no one wants their shaft to flop over. I fully agree. Those are good looking boots. That's my favorite toe shape. I think Lucchese calls that a #4. Those will look good with faded jeans and that Stetson Stratoliner, especially once they age. I will say that FOR ME, Lucchese boots are a better fit and more comfortable to wear. But I like my Tecovas too. Wear them in good health!! One more thing...I got one of those boot jacks for free from Tecovas. What a POS!!! It looks great but the angles are wrong to remove boots. That wrinkled leather mars the boot leather. And the boot jack slips out from under your holding foot causing the boot in the jack to slip out and scuff the toe of the boot that was holding that boot jack. DO NOT BUY THAT BOOT JACK!!!! The cheap pine and pleather boot jack I bought 40 years ago for $3 works much better.
