- Опубликовано: 3 фев 2023
- In this video, I restore MY pair of 25 year old cowboy boots that I purchased in downtown Nashville (Music City USA). These boots were in terrible shape and in desperate need of some attention. We take these boots completely apart and restore them. Time for another restoration!

My parents worked in separate shoe factories in Columbus Ohio. I eventually worked at both of them. 1969. I loved the smell of leather and the chatter of the toe stitcher. Dad glued the crepe soles and I removed the tack after the last was pulled out. At one time, there were 9 shoe factories in Columbus. They were all gone by the time I returned from the service. 1974. Thank you for bringing part of it back.
Very cool Sir! I bet there aren't alotta people that could work side by side with one, let alone both of their Parents? Sounds like a good family, and thank you for your service!
My dad was a shoemaker and I used to help him in his shop as a child. This video brought back so many memories. This really is a dying art.
I would’ve loved to see more of the lining process! That’s something we rarely see on the channel. I’m especially curious about how it’s adhered and how you avoid wrinkles and creases. Thanks!
Rubber cement. Flexible enough to move around during shaping, but strong enough to keep it in place until stitched.
I think I'm correct in saying also that, a lot of the creases are negated by Whacking down the leather into place.
Me too. I was looking for liner glue operation imagine what I did not see?

@@TrentonHeath 2 questions: How much will the sandals cost? and
Can you resole shoes with built-in arch supports?
I’m truly amazed! My daddy passed away in 1996 and I was given his cowboy boots that he wore everyday. After watching you fix your old pair of cowboy boots I wish I could afford to have you fix my daddy’s boots. He was in WWII in the Navy and then a policeman for years. He always wore cowboy boots while he was a policeman.
I don't how I ended up here because I watch heavy metal videos, video game stuff, animals, concerts and crazy stuff but I'm glad I came here because now it's amazing watching the good honest hard work of putting boots together and repairing them etc. I always wondered why my Pop LOVED his boots and kept repairing them instead of just buying new boots but he always said he LOVED his boots and now I get it. I'm now 49 and understand the love and appreciation of good old fashion hard working nostalgic bad ass boots. I understand the love and humble value of a good working boot. I love this and Thank You for this wonderful video. Thumbs UP and shared. A+++++
The mechanics on that stitcher; a work of art and beautiful sound to the ear.
Great boot video!
amazing...just to stitch a boot.
You need to restore Alan Jackson's boots. You never know till you ask.
Enjoyed the video as always. Thanks for the content.
Trenton: “…these are my brother’s boots which mean I really don’t care a whole lot about them.” I waited the whole video for that line. 😂
😁 Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice boots……..but keep em clean now! 😊
@@TrentonHeath I was going through perhaps one of the lowest points in my life just some decent attire would help a lot.
I was given a pair of comfortable never used Redwing western style cowboy boots that didn't last sixty days.
Next I was given a pair of comfortable never used Georgia western style cowboy boots, that was five years ago.
I have put hundreds of miles on them, literally, I oiled them with boot oil religiously.
I have been on hard times again an have not been able to oil them so they are getting rough.
I was of buying new but I can't afford boot oil let alone new boots.
So my question is how much is it to overhaul a pair of Georgia boots 9½W?
@TrentonHeath Is there no way yo avoid having those nails, sorry just curious if there's anyway to not have those nails, reason is I work in a job where I have to pass through some metal detectors every few hours and I like the style of them but to take them off everytime would be a no go
As a Cabinet Maker/Furniture maker, the last thing I want to do is come home to fix my own crap. When you create for others, the joy isn't a financial experience, it's the amazement of what they receive as though Christmas happens twice in the same year... love that feeling!

@jpsother1, Sorry I didn't respond; I did however like your reply. I always report the scams! Ty for letting me know....
"The shoemakers son's, have no shoes"
Such an honorable profession. Don’t think the guys who do it are given enough credit. Great work. Great video!
True
Hot cork is fun, but taking apart the sole to see what’s there is my favorite, followed closely by the conditioning and polishing 🔥😁
I have always been impressed with shoe repair! I'm 77 years old and I'm still impressed! Keep it up.
I am 72 and have worn cowboy boots nearly my entire life. I usually get 2 or 3 sole replacements before I get new ones and I ALWAYS get rubber sole replacement. I love rubber. I also really enjoy your videos. Your skills are amazing. Thanks for the great videos.
The sewing machines are really relaxing. All those moving parts just to push a needle through just blows my mind. I really enjoy the sound they make.
You bring back memories. I am 66 years old lived in a small town. There was an old Indian man that repaired shoes for a living but it had almost came to an end because people were just buying new shoes but he knew we were poor and he would resolve our shoes. He kept shoes on a poor family.
"The cobbler's kids have no shoes"...
Well I guess that means time for your OWN work. You got it done! 🙂
Nice work, guys...
Haha…true. Thanks for watching!
We also have this proverb in France! "Les cordonniers sont les plus mal chaussés". It proved to be true!
😁
As a video producer I know how much goes into it. And I think you might think we get bored with too much detail. But no! To see your skill, knowledge and awesome equipment is fascinating. I’d love to see more detail.
Really fascinating to watch you guys repair something that looks completely worn out. Great job. 👍👍
It’s a real pleasure to watch you give these boots a second life, bravo for your work.
I personally never realized how much work goes into reconstructing a pair of boots! Very cool to watch. Can’t even tell it’s the same pair of boots.
Interesting to see your own boots get a reboot(!) And you got Trenton to do a bunch of the work ☺
Just can't believe the long process those boots have to go through, but, in the end looks good as new. Those are the work of knowledgeable hands! Hats off to you guys! ( all the way from the Philippines)
The first time I went to Nashville in 2013 I went to that same boot store and bought a pair (some nice black leather halter boots). I still have them and I like them a lot.
After seeing this channel for a while, I kept asking myself "what would Trenton and Heath think about the quality of the boots of that shop???" Well, now I got my answer. I hope mine were a good deal too!
Heath, those boots have been through a LOT but when you love and enjoy them, they are going to show it. I truly enjoyed the restoration. A class job all the way! ❤❤
Returning to your videos after almost 2 years of being away. I just wanted to say, your channel helped me pass the time when I was dealing with my mother dying. She was actually my grandmother who raised me, but still my mother nonetheless. I love your content and your professionalism. Your videos are like therapy.
Let me know if you ever want an apprentice. My passion for this is something that will never go away.
Fantastic ! ...Who would of thought that I would subscribe to a boot/shoe repair channel, you guys are such talented tradesmen, I love every minute of it.
Here we are. Stumbled upon this myself and absolutely love it. Have a few sentimental boots that desperately need work. Think I'll be in good hands with these gentleman.
Loved the video! I'm so glad to hear you are bringing production back to the U.S., and your own shop!
I really enjoyed you picking on each other. I've missed that. It makes your videos that more relatable
Great Video channel guys! Found it by accident too! I was in the Quality Shoe retail business for 47 years and LOVED to watch you "WORK" on those boots. The repair shop that serviced our store was from an Italian guy that could also MAKE SHOES and I LOVED to watch him. Glad to see the Vibram Soles and heels for better wear on the boots you rebuilt too. He should also use Neatsfoot oil on his boots to keep the leather "Alive" as they, the upper, will last longer by doing this at least 2-3 times a year. At least I found out this really helps the quality leather uppers of my shoes over the years.
Retired now in Florida, for 11 years, but MISS the retail business so-so much!.
These videos are amazing, American craftsmanship at its finest.
"You should be ashamed of yourself."
"Don't shame me."
Brother love. LOL
Alright Heath, I wanna see these boots in about 6 months. You’ll have to give us an update! 😛🤣 Beautiful job as always. You guys are so freaking good at what you do. I’m always amazed!

This goes for me, too.
I swear this is my 5th time back on this video. I really love all your cowboy boot resole videos❤
There’s something very satisfying about watching these videos. I’ve seen quite a few shoe/boot restoration videos by various craftsman and it’s a skilled art form that is being lost. Years ago there used to be quite a few shops that repaired shoes, boots, purses, belts and other leather goods.
Not any more…
Nobody repairs anything anymore, they just buy a new one.
I’ve told a shoe cobbler about your channel because I thought that he would enjoy & I’m sure that he does. You all show the guts of our shoes & it’s sometimes disappointing, it’s what we need to know.
Thank you Sirs
Nothing like the smell of leather being worked. The designs on western boots are awesome. Thanks for all the work you do.
To be completely honest when I first started watching your videos I didn't think I would like it, fast forward 2 or 3 years later and I still love watching every aspect of them lol.
Iv'e watched you guys almost from the begining of your RUclips careers and ya'll have come a long way on your videos talent and craftsmanship. I'm a big fan of Bedo's and ya'll up there with him on explaining and showing the repairs and restorations, keep em coming guy's❤
What an interesting watch to see that process completed. Stellar job on bringing them back to life.
You guys are really great. I can feel the love between you and your brother. You have a very great job and some folks seem to overlook the importance of your contribution in the community. By the way, I think you should be teaching your craft to the younger generation to continue your LEGACY. There is so much you can teach to kids who are interested to learn.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I'm always amazed at the Landis stiching machine. Great work guys and I love the belt I got from Potter and Sons! Thanks!🙂
First time seeing a boot overhauled. Thank you guys for that. Pretty damn cool!
You guys do world class work! Made those boots look better than new!!
Just discovered you guys and love to watch you bring out the beauty of old worn shoes.
You make the cork setting and sole cutting look easy... WOW!
Master craftsmen at work! Thanks, I enjoyed your video and I will take better care of my boots now!
Those came out amazing !
Another nice video today. Nothing wrong with spending and doing extra work on something you have owned for so long. It's what makes them special and you want to hang onto forever. I have a 1940's dresser and table that' was in my family. Spent way too much redoing the dresser, but it's worth it for other reasons. Keep up with the videos..
Great video gentlemen. Love that you are going to make a good quality product here in the USA. Thank you !!
What a process. Holy smokes 👍A lot more to it than I ever thought 🤔 Love all the old machinery!
Defiantly my favorite video from y’all, cool seeing you work on your own boot.
"definitely"
Fascinating process! Thanks for sharing!
U dudes are the best!!! Bless u guys!! Such awesome job as always
Love how you rebuilt them they look great
i was searching for videos on how cobblers repair boots because im taking my favourite boots to be repaired tomorrow for the first time in 4 years and i wanted to know how they do it because im autistic & have ADHD. i never inteded to watch the entire video but the video is so greatly structered that it had me intently watching all the way to the end. its very rare i watch videos to the very last second. I'm impressed, Thank you 😊
I just love watching a work of art being made
Love seeing him wearing them in the end, getting to see the style of person that wears the boot. Great vid guys
The final product, to me, is kind of a best of both worlds. Well broken in boots that would feel like a second skin, yet have upgraded and refurbished. Also definitely you're brothers, the way gig each other.🙂👍
Great to see "your" boots featured! They look awesome! I have this pair of Georgia ropers that you can pry from my cold, dead... feet. But I'd love to do something cool with them. It's tough to find someone willing to take it on, but when you've got the tools and skills, you can perform miracles!
Just by looking at all your videos, you either when to school to study how used the machines and repair all types or shoes OR you were taught by someone in your family and you continue from there on. You restore the good of the shoes. 😊😊❤❤❤ awesome
Not sure how this video popped up in my feed, but once I glanced at it, I was immediately intrigued!! Awesome vid!
Y’all’s vocation is just so interesting. It has me wishing I learned how to do this instead of going to law school. Love your content!
Awesome job guys! Nothing like being able to fix up your own boots : )
Nice editing! Always an enjoyable experience.
Absolutely top notch work guys. Loved the video
Nothing better than a Saturday with Trenton and Heath and the Stormin cellar great way to start the day.
Saw that boot store in Neville, have to get some next trip.
Great restoration guys - you are very talented.
Nice job! I knew repairs took a lot or work, but wow! Got your comfortable boots back!!
This reminds me of watching my dad shoe horses. Thanks for the nostalgia guys.
already ordered the men's sandals for my brother! can't wait to get them!
Thank you for sharing your skills with us. I was a shoe shine boy when I was 15. I loved it and believe I would have really enjoyed your profession.
WoWWW111 Amazing job!!! I also love the tools you use! Thanks for sharing!
Great work guys, they look fantastic!
I had the upper skins replaced on a sentimental pair of boots and it changed the fit. Broke my heart.
Loved this video, thanks for sharing!
I am impressed with the workmanship and it shows in the clean and organized work shop.
Quite a transformation. Great work.
Great job
My first ever paying job ( early 60 s) was in a shoemakers shop
hearing that stitching machine brought back great memories
again great job thanks
Great restoration guys - you are very talented.. Great restoration guys - you are very talented..
Heath is now rocking the roper heal blocks, nice! Looks like he can wear them out on the town now! Nice job and nice video. thanks
Very beautiful job... dedication & true love for this. 👍👍👍
I’ve been to that boot store! About the time you bought those boots!!
Lost art very beautiful and good to see a professional at work. Clobber is a lost art in America
Guys this was so much fun to watch you pick on eachother. I totally loved that. I mean it was so cool. Thanks so much for making me laugh
Really Awesome Job 👏👏👏
Wow that was amazing to watch guys
Great to sew those brought back...before becoming a subscriber, I had no idea that, excuse this phrase...trashed out leather...could be restored. And, just like that...brand new boots. Awesome!
Crazy skills. They look fabulous.
Dude, this is fucking awesome. You restored a boots full of wounds, a boots that looked like new. And the video detail you gave me is complete in every process you do. With information the process makes it really fun to watch your video. You editing with every transition is also amazing. I really appreciate your work, man.❤🍻🍻
Saphir is gold....! Dig your channel. Greetings from San Diego.
awesome guys, thanks for that. made a change from wristwatches, vintage Tube guitar amps and WW II Tanks...
Thank you gentlemen for bringing your sourcing back to the good old U.S.A.! Loved this episode! The mechanic never works on his own cars! lol!
Those boots came out so good !!! You almost wouldn't know that they were the same boots.
This takes me Back Some 56 years to when I was 14 years Old. @ 9:30 You're using a leather Sole Cutting machine, I was one Saturday morning Marking out & Cutting Leather Soles for use further on in the week by the Cobbler. I was so engrossed with watching what and where I was Cutting in relation to the marked line that, I didn't realise until I started screaming that I'd fed my left thumb onto the Cutting blade. Nearly took the whole of my thumb off, but fortunately it was good after it all healed. I'm 70 years Old now & still remember that for working Saturday and 2 Evenings after School I used to get 10 Shillings a week ( that equates to 50p or around 25Cents. )
I used to love the job n I bought my first Fishing Rod with my 1st weeks Wages, I WAS OVER THE MOON
You guys are amazing at what you're doing
Very nice! Now I’m wishing I still had my first pair of cowboy boots that I bought at KMART in the early 80s, when I was 12 years old. Leather upper, but cheap synthetic lower. They would look very cool today with leather soles! The boots were copies of the ones worn by Travolta’s character in Urban Cowboy flick 🎉
Fantastic job!
Lovely seeing two men hard at their job.
Beautiful work. It's nice to watch you at work. Greetings from Poland from the city of Radomsko.
Man! Those really turned out well. They look good enough to wear to church on Sunday!👍🏻
