Your channel is one of the best! Love you bubbly personality. Some of these freeze dried videos are so long and monotonous. Love hearing about Alaska and your family! Stay real!!
I don't have my freeze dryer yet, but I like to buy freeze dried lemon slices. They're great to add to hot tea, or even just plain water. You could even cook the slices in simple syrup before drying & then you can have sweetened lemon to add to tea. Just an idea :) EDIT!! Never mind, you spoke about both of these things in your video, I just hadn't finished watching it yet.
I lived in Apache junction meridian apache trail area. It’s hot. Haha. I’m in Arkansas now. Hehe. Been to goldfield many times. Under Superstition Mountains. Thanks for the flashbacks.
I freeze dried orange slices twice after the first bag of oranges got soft I tried again . I thought I didn’t dry them long enough.but I know these were dry. Was the Mylar bag not the right way to save them? I won’t give up gonna use jars next time. I’m making a simmer pot for Christmas every thing worked but the oranges🥴
@@lindashimek5043 did you use oxygen absorber? The only caveat with that is if you open the bag and take some out, you would need to put a new absorber in the bag each time. With mason jars I re vacuum seal the jar each time after I open it.
Did your hands feel sticky after handling them? I tried freeze drying orange juice with pulp. It seemed dry but as I was putting the dried OJ in containers, my hands felt sticky. I'm afraid that means it isn't dry. I actually dried an extra 10 hours even tho it seemed dry at the end of the normal cycle. Still it felt sticky on my hands. I did some peels and they came out as hard as rocks. I didn't dare put them in my food processor.
I hadn’t heard of that site - I just checked and none near me :/ but that’s amazing you got one for a great price! I may just get myself the Costco one this summer
Can anyone answer, or share their thoughts on whether the orange peel itself when freeze dried and then ground in your food processor will be more bitter because of the white rind that is left intact? Maybe the bitterness does not matter and there is no need to zest the outside of the fruit. It would certainly be easier to just freeze dry the peels and all.
I look forward to the candied oranges being dried. 😊❤
Just came here to say your hair is FABULOUS!!! And the freeze drying is good too 😊
The oranges look great I think lemon would be great too
Yes I want to do lemon too !!!

I want to try some. Az oranges are the best!
They are 🥰🥰🥰
How do they rehydrate? Would you consider doing rehydration along with the taste testing?
Those orange cinnamon rolls sound really good. Recipe please.
I’m gonna get it from my sister and will have to show It on here 😁
I find for the zest, to avoid so much of the bitter white rind, use a peeler.
Please, how long did it take for the orange to be fully dried?
Hi from chandler Arizona. Love our citrus here.
You have the BEST CITURS!
Growing up in Idaho and then visiting family in Phoenix always amazed me that they could have oranges. I am totally jealous!
@@stevendrake6831 yes it doesn’t seem like a place that could grow nice citrus but they’re lucky!
I did some oranges and lemons but they were sticky was that because I didn't do it long enough
What if you added water to them?
