This is the best video ever!! You explained this so well, my favorite part was not having to watch 6 minutes of nonsense just to figure out how to do this so I thank you for that lol but seriously, this is such a great, easy learning video for changing colors so thank you!!!
Oh my goodness, this is a complete game changer. I’ve been struggling to find a way to change colour on the round and yours is by far the best explained and most effective yet. Thank you so very much ❤
I'm always looking for great ideas and tips, thank you for this tutorial I especially appreciate this one I'm working on a lot of projects that calls for color changes and looking forward to trying this one.
I agree that contrasting colors would have made it a lot easier, but..... ❤❤ I have watched countless videos saying they had invisible color changes. They were not invisible. I have ripped out so much yarn and 100's of stitches 😢😢 Once I figured out what you were doing, it was fantastic ❤❤❤❤ 💥💥TIP💥💥 I slowed the speed of the video down and that helped. I have been crocheting for 39 years but amigurumi is new to me. This was so helpful and my color change looks Great. ❤
No because the false stitch acts as the one you skipped. If you were doing a round of twelve, you would skip st 1, use st 2 to create the fake st 1, so there is a new one there.
thank you! one problem i had was i ended up with 1 extra stitch when doing this. i'm not sure what happened! maybe I got confused because for my pattern, i had to crochet into BLO for the first round of the color change.
I actually liked the chennile/velvet that was used as I’m also using a similar yarn so it is helpful - particularly as this is catered toward Amigurumi
Sorry I have question. For the invisible joint to change the color, do you put the cut yarn in the second stitch of the stitch where the stitch marker was at? And the fake stitch we just make is the first stitch of the new round? Thank you.
Question: when we make that standing single crochet stitch you say after follow the pattern that's written. Same when we go back and crochet into that hole, you say follow that pattern as written. Do those count as a stitch in the pattern?
I bought your Tiana the Sea Turtle pattern. Looking at the shell section, it says to change to color A when making the last stitch of round 8. Will this technique work with those instructions? Am I making the last stitch of round 8 in color A? Looking forward to starting your pattern as I preview all the skills the pattern calls for. Thanks!
She yarns under for the first part of the stitch, to do that make sure you keep your hook on top of the yarn when pulling up the first loop! And then yarn over when finishing the stitch with the second loop
I have searched and watched so many RUclips videos on invisible colour changes and I have finally found yours which is straight to the point easy to remember the best video by far on RUclips for colour changing thank you awesome tutorial 👍🏻🧶🧶🧶🧶😀
@christineramage7852 If you're working in hdc, you would do the color change the exact same way. Since you're working into the top of your finished stitches, it is the same for sc, dc, hdc, tc, etc... I hope that helps.

Great to hear!
Best colour change I have seen, could you please do it in more contrasting colours and close up shots?
This literally changed my life! You are awesome! ❤
I agree that contrasting colors would have made it a lot easier, but.....

Love this technique, Jade… thanks so much!
OMG! It worked!!! 🎉 I did not manage it for the first time , but the second time was perfect! Thank you very much 😊
Excellent 😃 thank you for all your tips and great designs
Easy, clear, and helpful, thank you .
Wouldn't this impact the stitch count due to the false stitch?
No because the false stitch acts as the one you skipped. If you were doing a round of twelve, you would skip st 1, use st 2 to create the fake st 1, so there is a new one there.
Oh super astuce😮merci beaucoup du partage. J'adore votre chaîne et vos créations. ❤❤❤
Merci beaucoup 😊
thank you! one problem i had was i ended up with 1 extra stitch when doing this. i'm not sure what happened! maybe I got confused because for my pattern, i had to crochet into BLO for the first round of the color change.
Would wise you used a different type and color of yarn. Its pretty hard to see the stitches.
I agree 💯
I totally understand, but for me it was perfect since i used the same type of yarn! :)
I don't agree. Light blue and darker blue stitches were very easy to see.
I could easily follow your steps and easily see the colors and am happy to got this valuable instruction. Thank you 😃
I actually liked the chennile/velvet that was used as I’m also using a similar yarn so it is helpful - particularly as this is catered toward Amigurumi
Finally an easy perfect way for colour chang, thank you .
This color change is very pretty, thanks.
Epic! After watching thousands of useless and long videos I finally understand it, and it's easy too!! 🎉
Great video! Finally I made some invisible color changes🎉. May I ask where your chrochet hook is from?
Sorry I have question. For the invisible joint to change the color, do you put the cut yarn in the second stitch of the stitch where the stitch marker was at? And the fake stitch we just make is the first stitch of the new round? Thank you.
Helped me so much! Thank you!
This was sooooooooo helpful thank you so much 😊
do you count the color change stitch as the first stitch of the next round?
ty for the video 🙏
Sweet!! I’m gonna try this asap!
Does this technique add an extra stitch to the count?
No it doesn’t
I wish I could like this 20 times!! Tysm ❤
Merci pour cette astuce. Portez-vous bien. Gros bisous à vous
Oooo thx, im trying to make this yellow shrimp loaf i got from miniso by frogging the entire pattern 😅 ty!
Love this excellent instructions
❤
Question: when we make that standing single crochet stitch you say after follow the pattern that's written. Same when we go back and crochet into that hole, you say follow that pattern as written. Do those count as a stitch in the pattern?
Yes, the standing single crochet counts as a stitch. The stitch count won’t change.
Finally the perfect one ❤ thank youuu!!
Yesss this is exactly what I needed
Thank you for this video! It was so helpful❤

This was so helpful could you do a lamb tutorial if not that’s okay love your tutorials☺️
Wao great work 👏 👍 👌
My problem is how to weave in all the leftover tails. Do you have a video on this by chance? Thx! 😊
I seem to be creating an extra stitch in the round when I do this, is there a way to avoid that?? I started with 16 st and ended up with 17
Make sure that you’re skipping a stitch when you do the fasten off (fake stitch).
This is awesome thanks

Hello, yes, last stitch of the round 8 in color A and then make the invisible color change
Thanks this is so helpful!
tysm for this!!!
Very helpful! Thx😊
What size hook is that?
Doesn’t this method add one stitch to the round?
No. Make sure to skip a stitch when you make the invisible fasten off
Do you YO or YU my stitches look way different than yours 😢
She yarns under for the first part of the stitch, to do that make sure you keep your hook on top of the yarn when pulling up the first loop! And then yarn over when finishing the stitch with the second loop

Thanks. I will try this!
is this for continuous/spiral or fot when you end each round with a slipstitch?
Spiral
Thanks so much! My rainbow cat looks great :)
I'm so glad!
You've inspired me to make a rainbow cat with my stash :)
You've inspired me to make a rainbow cat with my stash :)
Supercolorful
Would slip stitching and switching colors in the slip stitch work the same?
No it won’t be as invisible. Better than regular, but still more noticeable than my technique
Amazing
Nice video. Why don't you work your tails in your work so you don't have to go back and weave them in?
I don’t weave them in. I tie them and leave them loose inside the piece.
How would you do this if you’re working in rounds with hdc?
@christineramage7852 If you're working in hdc, you would do the color change the exact same way. Since you're working into the top of your finished stitches, it is the same for sc, dc, hdc, tc, etc... I hope that helps.
Thanks for the tip
Thankkkk youuuuuu ❤
What do you do with all of the tails?
I tie them together and leave them inside the piece (this is the technique I use for amigurumi)
❤😂 I love your technice th sz NIS
Tysmmmmmm
Does this work in the middle of rows?
To make a patch kind of? No!
I love this yarn, what type of yarn is this please?
Parfait chunky From Premier Yarns premier-yarns.pxf.io/c/4102708/1583016/18076
hi! is it okay if I sell the finished piece from your patterns?🙂
Yes it is
thank you!
Aren't you adding a stitch?
its not adding a stitch, the stitch count stays the same
if I am making a plusie will it unravel?
No it won’t. You can also tie knots with the tails inside the toy.
