- Hearing damage is a cumulative effect of exposure to gunfire. Often times when we are on the range we are good about wearing our hearing protection. However, I know very few hunters that run around with muffs on. Today’s video is about hunting suppressors and why you might consider one in addition to the health benefits. For this video we are going to be using the Witt Machine Naughty 9 on a 350 Legend.

Bought my .46 can with a 9mm end cap for this exact reason. Tried it out with .350 legend 180 grain down range and the bang was perfectly tolerable even when i was next to a large dumpster.
Its perfect for me because I can mantain full hearing and dont have to fumble with hearing protection before taking my shot if caught off guard by my target (which happened alot where i usually hunt and screwed me over half the time)
My brother in law has a 270 win suppressed with a SilencerCo Harvester EVO... I was glassing about a half mile from him watching some does and he took a shot at a coyote. We could hear it barely, and it sounded like it came from miles away. The does I was glassing didn't even react, just went on grazing. I'm sold.
I literally bought the Mod-1 from watching your video. This is my first season with it also on 350Legend and I can’t be more happy for what I paid for it. I love it. In fact I was verifying zero with the can and had 2 doe 65-70 yards from me! They never spooked!
I like your dedication to hearing safe shooting . I'm dealing with a dad who has suffered severe hearing loss from his time in the army, hearing loss has a devastating effect not just on the person but all of their friends and family . I rarely shoot without a can anymore, and if I do it's because of a non concentric bore .
I HATE SUPRESSORS!! I bought a Witt Machine Dirty 30 for my subsonic 300 BLK home gun. And then used it on my 5.56 with an adapter. Then on my .308. I am now waiting on another Dirty 30 and 5.56 can... I never should have fallen for it, I am trapped now. Dang safer shooting, less concussion, less recoil and more accuracy!! DANG YOU!!!
And screw you ATF for making me pay $200 per hearing protection device and waiting 9 months to pick up what is mine.
You should have went with OSS suppressors. The king of suppression.
They are, but I have very meager finances to play with. Each of these were $500 or less with tax stamp and trust. I was able to get 3 cans that do what I need for $1,500@@necummins8696
This is my fault….we pride ourselves at showing off how much suppression you can get for half the price of others
Better start your purchase now if you want it by next season...
I waited 13,1/2 months for my canooter valve to get out of NFA jail
Still waiting since 2/23!
@@tracerxrider yup. Voting and talking to your representation matters, even if we're not there yet
My first one year before last took 18 months. Now the dealer has electronic filing and it only takes on average 13 months.... wow what an impressive improvement 👏 👌.
Yeah, it takes longer to get a can than it does to make a human these days.
I have the freakin.45 can for my Henry X in .44mag that I hunt with in Iowa, and I purposely bought it for this reason. Keep the weight down, and keeps the overall barrel length down. Annnnd honestly it’s pretty freakin quite on that lever gun past the point of hearing safe, I’m actually quite Impressed by the performance of that little Can on that rifle. Btw I love this channel, you know your stuff and I utilize the information you share quite often.
I'm a N.Idaho/PNW hunter so more mountains/elevation. My current deer rifle (although I bow hunt more then anything these days) is an AR in 6.5 Grendel on a KP15 lower receiver with a lightweight 2-10 optic. My Elk gun is a 30-06 with the same 2-10 on top and as light as I can get but still feel comfortable shooting it. This year will be the last year I hunt unsuppressed.
I love my $250 Witt Machine Naughty 9 suppressor! I also have one of there SME’s.
Someone one RUclips, tried to tell me a 9mm Can would be too small for .350 legend. This Witt Machine, obviously blew up when used with .350 legend!
I’ve been hunting with a suppressor since last season and attributed to a double doe kill to using one. I think everyone should be using one if anything to be respectful to other hunters but also to be more successful in the woods. I know it’s not feasible until prices come down and we don’t have to pay a government extortion fee and waiting an arbitrary unacceptable period of time for the pleasure of them to do their jobs.
I think the Witt cans are great for hunters. I got one for my 358win and brings down the sound and recoil. Small enough to still be handy in the woods while gaining the benefits of using a can.
Just shot the hell out of my Witt dirty 30, over the weekend. the damn cover walked its self loose after a 200 rnds … I really thought they used rock set on it… I guess not. Still love the can, the size, the cost and it taking “thump” out of each shot.
Don’t worry, after a while you will be saying the opposite
@@VSO_Gun_Channel damn… it goes downhill that quick?!?
Until suppressors are on te shelf like dog food, keep them, I am 60 now and have selective hearing that works good..😊
100 yards max effective range? How did you figure that? I live in a straightwall state where we hunt with 350, and people out here regularly drop deer at 250 yards no problem
@@jonquirk9582 The 8 pt I heart shot with my 350 L at 180 yards seemed to get the point just fine.
@rashick11 yeah, he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.
Did some crop damage doe management in a very large field in August. Took 4 does 1 of which was at about 300 yards. 180 grain power point put it down.
@@lanemerrill Great shot for a 350L. that is a stretch! Did you aim for the sky at that distance?
@@rashick11 it was about 12 moa over. I just dialed with my scope.
Interesting
But I am building a 400 Legend deer hunting rifle
So I am not sure whose suppressor I will use
One nice thing is I have several deer blinds close to my house
I have this suppressor and it ate 300 rounds of 10.5” 556 in about 10 minutes.
Gotta keep them fed!! Nom nom nom
God how i miss jefferson and brush creek with my old uncle stan Jacobs. Times of my life.
Dang man is that a Nikon P-223 on that rifle? I think I have one of those sitting on a 10/22 after it was removed from an AR long ago. Haven’t seen anyone running a Nikon in a video in a long time.
Indeed. Good eye
Use the .62 PileDriver low report and massive hole! Of course that is if airguns are legal in Ohio.
Great video,I just came across your channel and I'm also from Ohio and agree with you about it sounding like ww3 out there....Great job
55gr traveling @4000fps, when it hits them in the face I doubt they hear anything.
First really enjoy your videos. Second this would be my first can. Would like the Freaky 45 for my 45/70 but could also use it for my 309 and 300 black out. What about 556 with an adapter? Is there much of a difference in sound? feasible? I mean for every can it cost me an additional $350 for tax stamp and transfer fees. So even a Witt will be $550 to $600 with your code. Would your experience say the 45 can would work? Thanks been looking at hours of videos and lots of reading any info helps
They didn’t post anywhere on their website that these was 10 weeks back ordered I prefer not to wait that long ask them to process refund. They said I should have the refund the next day and now they said it will be by check 8 days later iv asked for check number, day check was sent, and when should I expect to receive it and I’m being ignored.
One week? That’s crazy we have less deer and gun season is close to 2 months
Do they not have an arrangement with SS?? Iv looked several times for their cans “ not lately” but I have wanted a couple models. Especially the one that is hub compatible
This is the kind of title the ATF would come up with
Hi Curtis, I’m interested in your thoughts on Arken’s new night vision scope
I don’t remark on products I have not tested. However, if it is digital night vision I am skeptical
If you’re willing to pay $800-$1k for a can. I would suggest the Rugged Radiant 7.62 It’s a stellite/titanium modular suppressor. Insanely light and belt fed rated with an unconditional lifetime warranty.
The sico omega 36m is also a great can in this category. I've got one. Sounds amazing on 350
Which scope is that?
Thank you for the video. Commenting for the Algorithm.
You know, there’s this thing called a tape measure
You must not have seen him use it in this very video
@@CrotalusKidI could have been more specific…I was referring to when he was zeroing the rifle and guessing the adjustments.
So is the ATF going to rule these non-suppressors to be illegal and go after everyone who owns one?
Banana bread!!! 👍
🤘 😁 🤘
Get yourself some 250 g subsonic for that..
Cmon jimmy! lol
Scopes mounted crooked as it doesn't track vertically. 🇺🇸 Not that your using it as a long range unit. Best of luck dropping a D in the dirt.
No it’s not, look again. That one shot is deceptive
i wish i could use something like this my state really sucks ...thy think it used for war and just like the ban thinks that an AR is a war kind of firearm because it shoot more then one round lol we all know different but we can only fight for our rights and what i see is our government is trying to do same
350 legend how cute. 22-250 is were it's at. Just saying
For deer in Ohio?
Except 22-250 is illegal to hunt with in the majority of Midwestern states.
