What's your favourite method for making silage?

I just started the game and silage from grass is the perfect t beginner farm. Easy. Profitable. No weeding or fertilizing. Just cut and roll it out. I grabbed a couple mods and turned it into a fool proof process even the AI can do. I use the Big M with the pto mod. And attach the Vikan fast bailer to it. Cutting 10m at a time and instantly baling it is so efficient. 2 good fields in a year and waiting until janurary will pay off the entire kit and kaboodle. I get 3 cuts a year at 150 bales per field. And unload them on the livestock vendor for 12-1300 per bale. Double the machines and fields and you’re over 1mil a year.

You should fertilize your grass once for maximum yield, or use a grass roller which will also apply a fertilizer state. You only need to do it once since grass for some reason always has a fertilizer state included

You can cut corn for silage after just 4 months. You don't have to wait till its fully grown

Ima a little bit late to the video but a heavier tractor works best for compacting, get wide tires and if you can get tracks because the pack better. And to get it packed the easiest put the last silage compactor in the shop(I forget it’s name) and put one on the front and one on the back

@@jaypence332 I’m almost 100% sure that the wrapper works only for grass silage not corn

The silage additive only makes a 5% difference to yield. Unless you're selling silage at best yearly price, it makes no sense and the profit boost/additive cost BARELY makes it worth it. You didn't show the option to use the tractor 3 point front attachment forage harvester (Lacotech LHII) > grass mower (Krone XDisc 620) option...literally the BEST way to harvest grass as you can pull a trailer with the tractor of choice. No need to mow > windrow > bale/forage wagon. Literally the only downside is you CAN'T mow headland grass with a forage grass header (Giants needs to fix this). Headland grass can add quite a bit to yield depending on the field.
