I really appreciate finding this because you are not using mods. The other creators I have watched used all kinds of mods, so they were not helpful in playing the vanilla game. Great video!!!!
Making nice piles from the start with the harvester will save you a ton of time. Even if it's one pile per tree to start. Best way I found to pick it up is by using a bag handler. The straps will pick up the logs without disrupting the rest of the pile. Good luck.
Another very helpful video. Forestry stuff has had one of the biggest learning curves for me, which is mostly because some of the equipment just feels so complicated operate. However, I appreciated the example of the process from planting, to harvesting, selling, and the production path. I liked the idea of your fenced trapping area to basically sweep all the logs into it for collection purposes. I think I'm going to set up a plot on my "No Man's Land" playthrough, and configure it for the entire operation in one concentrated area. Very helpful video. Thanks.
Though one can plant 100's of acre's of any one various crop's with no issue with a pc resources. Planting only a 100 tree's on a plot of land, causes issue's with the device's resources. Thus one is unable to plant more than a 100 and then another 100 far enough away from the other as to not cause the other tree's, causing there to be 200. Which then cause's considerably more issue's with one's device's resource's.
@@LiquidJeM4031 I would say 4000 trees is way too many lol, maybe spaced out across the entire map might be alight, xbox might handle more then PS5 but not sure.
Because of cost cost cost...the higher the cost the lower the profit. By using saplings you get them cheaper per unit versus an older tree . You could go even cheaper by using seeds but there is more risk involved and its not worth it. If you are buying full grown trees any size bigger than a sapling you would buy them from the same setup like the the one he's creating.
Trees take several months to be ready. It's challenging to plan several activities that require sleep and rotate between the tasks. It's also neat to do things correctly so that you can use ai worker. For example, ai runs the harvester while player runs the collector trailer.
That is because it is time consuming haha, getting mods and better work flows help to speed up the game play loop, all depends on what style of farming you are doing, as there are alot of jobs that the player must do
which mod is the one that auto loads the cut logs into the trailers? I hate to say it, but I suck at using the various claws to pick the logs up and load them. I just need to know which mod it is you were referring to for auto loading :P Thanks!
Currently there is no autoload log trailer for console, if you are on PC then there a quite few. That's why I load them in the this way as playing on console without autoload
@@affarmz I understand. I'm very new to the game. Maybe a week under my "farmer's belt" lol. I have not tried any mods yet and so far, the only one I feel like I really need is the auto loader. I'm on PC. I'll keep doing my research until I figure this out. Thanks! :)
Great video, nice and easy to understand. But I have a quick question....which mod are you using to get all the months in the pricing menu. I can only see the current value on my game which is challenging to forecast when to sell. Please help
In the prices menu you should be able to toggle the current prices vs the future prices, Its square button on the ps5, when in the prices menu highlight the item you want to see the prices for and toggle back and forth by pressing square. also for most crops and items you produce the peak price is always the same month.
more so in case its needed for purchases say used equipment or additional leasing. Using the passive income from the solar panels basically offsets all the costs in the beginning. Also the loan interest is miniscule.
No sure might be because not enough time has passed since the last sleep cycled, check your time scale settings, i have a video that explains more about the sleep trigger and time scale, might help you out. Thanks for watching!

Yep, had the same thing happen to me lol

I'm still learning so if this question is dumb sorry. But why not just plant the full grown pines then cut them?

Yeh, pretty much for me its the cost saving. However takes long to grow the trees.

Can you distribute the woodchips from the carpenter to the sawmill so you have them all in one place to gather and sell?
yes I believe you can do that, thanks for watching!
Forestry is very niche, a lot of time & effort but the equipment look’s cool.
Can be a challenge at times, once you get used to the tree harvesters its pretty fun to use.
Also very lucrative.

something broke, my log cutter isn't grabbing it just cuts and drops, not sure if a mod broke it.
maybe try uninstall some mods, might be conflict there
Hold the button down, if you are on Xbox. If not you will have to hit the button for each cut.
I’m trying to use one harvester and can’t get a cut option
How did you get the saplings onto the planter
Just drive up next to the sapling pallet and load them, should be pretty straight forward.
How do I get the spruce into the trailer ?
front loader is a good option
I am curious... why take a loan and pay interest on it to just have the cash sitting unused?

sorry I have no idea, I play on PS5
It's at the bottom of the shopping menu, it's three horizontal lines.
Does lime or anything else matter for the soil??
I don't believe it matters, as trees can be planted in fields or non plowed and cultivated land
