    I was using solid fert instead of roller, and roller looks like it cuts the grass, but it actually adds the first growing state. With solid fert, it does fert, and looks like grass is there, but, on the map it isn't green yet. If you cut and fert in November you won't get first full harvest until may. With roller you get first full harvest in April. Haven't tried mulcher yet, but I bet it's same times as roller, just get that extra 2%. If that's the case, mulched would be best yield, then rolled 2nd, and just solid fert 3rd. Just solid is way easier by hand, but I use autodrive and courseplay, so I'll take the most work plz!

    Thank you so much! ❤ So if I understood correctly, the best method to harvest as few times a year as possible with as many liters as possible is as follows:
    I will plant in November and wait all winter to harvest in March, June, September and November
    I understood correctly? Please correct me if I'm wrong and I apologize for my clumsiness!

    This !!! Ive been wondering if that mature state pays off. Droppiing back to 4 cuttings a year is my new strategy. NICE. I silo ferment grass sileage and its a little tedious sometimes.

  • @kornelobajdin5889
    @kornelobajdin5889 2 года назад +2

    Yes but if your last one was in october, than you still have November to cut for that extra. And you can make up for it. So it could be the same yield.

    thanks for explain it very well, i understand when you are on beginning stage grinding like i was i would cut it everyday if i could lol, but now 3 cuts a year works well for me, even though i'm still on a no mods challenge i already have lot of things to do, with productions, animals, a few contracts.

    Useful to know with the math, if you do 2 short cuts and 2 long cuts in 1 year, with the expected output you'd achieve 171,170 l for a years worth of work, compared to 5 short cuts in one year, which edges out just a little more at 171,205l.
    The thing to consider here is that it's one less cut per season, which is less work to reset the fields over a years time for grass, with almost the same result.
    Short cut March and May, then cut again in Aug and November for the 'optimized' cycle without much loss.

  • @g-rex5440
    @g-rex5440 2 года назад +1

    That's what I thought in the first place as someone else on YT talked about max grass yield but doesn't consider the different cutting states and possible cutting months march - november (I would have test it on my own, but you already did it so I don't need to :) ).
    Maybe there are more cuts possible if playing with more days per month. I'll have a try.
    But in the meanwhile I'll go with the 4 cut tactics but a bit different (2 times long than 2 times short, so cutting in april, july, september and november)

    Great video. I just got FS22 and am harvesting grass. I found the additive for the forage wagon and harvester that adds 5% does not work with the modded fermenting silo though. Only the ground silage bunker it seems.

    Ok i have a question and can't find an answer. I bought grass fields and all say need plowing to start map. I want to keep them grass fields. Is it beneficial to plow out and replant the same thing back in. Or just leave as is and harvest over and over?

    • @Driver53Gaming
      @Driver53Gaming  Год назад +2

      I would plow them after your last harvest of the year and replant them. You will get better yield.

    1st attempt
    2nd growth stage, 5 cuts, 171,205 Liters
    3rd growth stage, 3 cuts, 154,032 liters
    Difference: 171,205, 2 cuts in time saved.
    2nd attempt
    1st cut in March, 2nd stage
    2nd cut in June, 3rd stage
    3rd cut in September, 3rd stage
    4th cut in November, 3rd stage
    171,170 liters total
    Conclusion: 4 cuts (1 in 2st and 3 in 3rd stage) gives most yield.

    Your math is completely wrong here!
    TL;DR harvesting 3 times a year is better
    2 months grass = 34 241 L
    3 months grass = 51 344 L
    34 241 * 4 = *136 964 L* (not 171 170, that's for 5 harvests)
    51 344 * 3 = *154 032 L*
    Now you can't harvest grass 5 times a year every year because the grass doesn't grow during winter (Dec, Jan, Feb). However, you can harvest 5 times one year and 4 times the next year. This means it's an average of 4.5 harvest per year.
    34 241 * 4.5 = *154 085 L*
    Therefore, harvesting grass 3 times a year is the winner because you spend less time and cause less wear to your equipment, while getting more grass than 4 harvests per year and about the same as the 4/5 harvest method.

    • @Driver53Gaming
      @Driver53Gaming  2 года назад

      If you roll the grass in November it is ready to harvest in March. Rolling it the day you harvest will allow you to harvest per this schedule. March, May, July, September, November.

  • @dansiegel995

    Try to say soil roll or grass roill, but not roll. It adds to confusion. Grass rolling will not give +2.5% nor change needs rolling state. Soil rolling does not advance growth state nor fertilize. It can be confusing to vets, and noobs simply have no idea of what you are talking about.

    • @Driver53Gaming
      @Driver53Gaming  2 года назад +1

      Sorry you feel that this is confusing to seasoned players of the game.

    • @dansiegel995

      @@Driver53Gaming When you say ROLLING, it is because it inclines players to think they they can get the rolled bonus by rolling grass with a soil or grass roller...which they can only get with a soil roller after planting but before harvest. Soil rolling does nothing for grass after planting. You need to learn to appreciate constructive criticism.

    • @Coupe420
      @Coupe420 2 года назад

      @@dansiegel995 the soil roller will do nothing after first harvesting, you would have to cultivate, seed, soil roll, between every harvest! That would make grass a pain in the ass, the whole point is that it regrows on its own every cycle! So grass rolling after every harvest is the most efficient way to go. Cut the grass, mow (first fert state), roll, second fertility state, rinse and repeat. And for those people that don't know the difference, there is a grass care tab that shows all the correct equipment! Also if you are that anal about the absolute max possible harvest in a year, you probably already know the difference in equipment!

    • @The_Duke_of_Wirdum
      @The_Duke_of_Wirdum 2 года назад

      If you roll with a roller from "rollers" right after seeding you wil get 2,5% bonus EVERY time and no need to roll again. then leasing a roller is a good option.
      If you roll with a roller from "grass care" you will have to roll after every harvest and fertilisation state go's from 50% to 100% and yield bunus go's to 98% (if you didn't roll with a roller from "rollers" its 95%) fertilizing has the same effect but it will cost you fertilizer.

    • @nieczerwony
      @nieczerwony 2 года назад +1

      Rolling with soil roller applies after seeding. It. This will give +5% to your yeild. So first time you do your stuff to maximize crop.
      That is:
      -plow if needed,
      - lime if neede,
      - remove stones (big and medium you need stone collector, small ones will be done with roller),
      - clutivate (skip if you plowed and destoned),
      - palnt/sow
      - roll with soil roller,
      - x2 feet
      - weed
      After each cut then just roll with grass roller. Simple as that.
