    I did 113 km/h (70mph) with 14/32 sprockets. Pcx 150 injector.
143cc cyl and a cam. Home made intake pipe (50mm) with airfilter.
Yuminashi ecu(38770-K26-901R). The ecu ( bought it from MOTOSCOOT)
Did an amazing change to the bike. No rev limit and you can modify the engine endless. No powercommander and other fuel controller needed. 120 € shipped from spain to Sweden. Recommended!
Will try other sprocket setups later on and see whats best.
    Drive safe!

I’ve had mine going 72 three times down hill. A speed restriction comes on at 8,000 rpm in 5th. People that have had them faster have had a ecu reflash. The five speed is way better than the four speed for cruising.

Why not use a GPS speed? I just got my 22 Grom and the Grom speedo indicates a 12% higher speed than the actual GPS measured speed. The GPS top speed of my stock Grom is 51 mph (81 km/h) on flat ground with no wind. These little machines would be so much more useful with at least a 150cc engine ... 125 is way too small ... I can't keep up with traffic outside of the city here in Canada.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  2 года назад +5

Well, we did a true top speed on our dyno, but that had no wind or real rider load applied. For the road test we wanted to use a method that is repeatable by other folks so that they have a means for comparison. That is why we chose to go by indicated speed and not GPS.

My friend who is a physics PhD told me humid air is actually less dense than dry air. Warm air is also les dense than cold air, so much so, in fact, that airplanes often swap out their propeller in spring and fall so the summertime prop takes a steeper bite since the air is thinner. Oh, fwiw, Andy moto got her groom up to 73 (she said 118 because she’s in Australia, you should check her channel out! ) but I think she said she’s 5 1 102 lbs.

1st off that's wrong...Hot air creates what we call in aviation High Density Altitude. High humidity does the same thing.
The term High Density Altitude is actually the opposite of what you'd think. It actually means the pressure is actually acting as if it's lower than the standard (29.92 @ 15deg cel at sea level). Also performance is reduced due hot air and humidity. Hot air is thin and humidity (moisture) actually displaces the air even more. Less air means decreased performance. Most modern fuel systems compensate for that to some degree by leaning the mixture to maximize performance.
When we have high temp and humidity here in Houston my take-off roll is much longer.

I enjoyed this video and the seeing the 2022 Grom in action very much. When I compare the 2022 to the 2014 and 2017 in your "which is better" video from 5 years ago, I see that the 2014, 2017, and 2022 Groms all have different appearing foot peg mounting brackets. The 2014 has two narrow bars on each side, the 2017 had a single thick bar on each side, and the 2022 goes back to two bars on a side, but the bars are now parallel. Are the differences simply changes in styling, or is there a mechanically important difference? For example, will the 2014 foot peg mounting brackets fit on a 2022 Grom? Is the mounting bolt pattern the same, and are there any clearance issues in mounting a 2014 bracket on a 2022? Thanks!

Believe it or not I just slide and flipped my Grom running from cops through some back streets, lolol it was a 250cbr swap but now it’s idk, everything is ok as far as the frame, but my bike was running like shit and I couldn’t find what was wrong so I swapped my motor back to my original, which is yeah Grom motor with a koso 170 bore, and it’s still not right.
It’s bogging still and can’t go past 40, idk what’s going on.
My bike was catching 90 before, easy, 90 instantly, idk, can’t figure what’s wrong, I crashed at like 40, tried to make a turn and my bike is lowered, I scraped the ground and it banged and sent me sideways when it flipped.

This new Grom has a longer wheelbase than it's predecessors. It definitely helps keep it more stable at higher speeds than the previous generations of the Grom. The 5th gear makes a noticeable difference with a few performance parts like E3 Diamondfire plug, ECU tune, freer flowing intake and full exhaust (and heatwrapped). The 5th gear also radically improves MPG, especially when fed more power. It's not just a taller top gear for higher top-speed potential and mpg, but the 1st 4gears are also lower and closer ratio for better acceleration. Surely you didn't buy a Grom (or Z125) expecting a rocketship, did ya? MPG is my #1 reason for wanting a Grom. I've done those mods on my Ninja 300, and noticed lots more power to bounce off rev limiter in stock 6th Gear @120, whereas before could only hit 111, 1500rpm shy of redline. The new 5speed is the best feature on the new Grom, because nobody leaves them stock! As a fellow Kawi brother, I'm sorry to say the Z125 has been outclassed and needs updating to keep up in the segment Honda owns! The 'Z' is a tad cheaper, and still great in its own ways, enjoy riding!

I find on the interstate I can be ten bike lengths back (i.e. a safe distance) and still the vehicle (or vehicles) ahead breaks up the wind enough to reach and maintain higher speeds much easier. Maybe that is not technically drafting, but it's a real effect, and for me means on the occasional short trip of an exit or two on the interstate I can maintain highway speed (at least in the slow lane). Maybe it only works on divided highways, where a mass of cars are pushing air in the same direction?
