John Cleese once said that he thought The 7 Deadly Sins were his foundation of comedy. I guess that's why at least 3 of them were the focus of this sketch: wrath expressed by George on the TV set and by Gladys with the rolled up paper, lust in the form of their interest in the subject, vanity in George's "Tell him I already got one" and gluttony in George's "Oh, I thought you said bacon." I love intelligent humor which is why I've enjoyed this series for over 40 years!
@Rita3500 "Come Dancing!" was a very popular TV show at that time and, as a result, one of Monty Python's favorite targets. That's why Graham isn't wearing a sign like Terry: "Gladys" is obviously a ballroom dancing addict! Love how self-involved "George" is to focus on his mustache and his love of bacon and sex! Brilliant sketch!
What Terry Jones just did with the TV, Ive been wanting to do to my boyfriend's XBOX. It's not that it's a big deal really, he plays it more than he sleeps, no joke.
Not sad at all! Graham wrote most of the gay themed and campy sketches himself and convinced the other cast members it was ok to perform them. This sketch in particular pokes fun at TV news stations who prey on their viewers’ irrational fears and ignorance to get ratings (Fox News anyone?)
@@feraldarryl In that context, true. Oh what the Pythons could do to Fox News and Info Wars if they were writing and performing today! Almost too delicious to think about.
There's no need to be sad! I think Graham was out at the time and few people really cared. Although some people believe that he always felt afraid that the other Pythons didn't approve, or that he mistook their surprise at his coming out for disgust. Even so, I'm sure he had fun making these sketches that poked fun at prejudices :)
This isn't homophobic - it's a satire of homophobic media. Graham actually wrote most if not all of the gay-themed material and insisted it be played, despite the trepidation of the other Pythons.
I love how the Pythons would always set up a corny joke and then punish themselves for saying it.
"i've already got one"
...haha gets me every time
"Off with the shell and they're at it."
One of my all-time favorite comedy sketches, period.
there's a man at the door with a moustache
tell him I've already got one!!
monty python were the best
amazing...I love how it's too silly to be taken seriously, yet still is by the characters. graham has great hair, too. thanks for uploading it.
You just described 99% of the Python’s output, of course 😉

"Gayboy of the gastropods." Brilliant. xD
makes ? look like a dead pope. XD
I like his 'tsk-tsk-tsk!" :D
It's so hilarious, but I wish they'd done more on the cephalopod's sex life. Much more amusing.
A Really Clever Satire of our British Tabloid Press.
One of my favorite sketches. Thanks for uploading it :)

I LOVE Graham's makeup, and his facial expressions as John Cleese tells them about molluscs' sex life... disgusting!
Graham Chapman looks so funny
EVEN AFTER ALL THESE YEARS THEY ARE STILL FUNNY. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER SKIT COMEDY SHOW LIKE THIS.
I love it when Graham Chapman plays screechy voiced women!
lara laperla That's a very interesting ..."Premise" ;-)
0:32 my favourite part, "Tell him I already got one"
Pepperpots, as they're called.
It makes an AWESOME biology video - Iwish we got to watch it......
This is now even funnier because I now know Graham Chapman was himself gay. 🤣
If Cleese spoke to the camera, would he be breaking "the fifth wall"?
3:42 Looks like somebody's ordering clam chowder in a bit.
george ??
yes gladice
there is a man at the front door with a mustache
tell him i alreaddy got one :p
great
god, graham chapman is awesome, I like how his response is to beat the shit out of the other person
I was just going to type that! He does.
This video is DISGUSTING!!!!! >: (
But far more interesting!!! : D
@DarkRubberDucky Lifeboat/ Neighborhood watch is the sketch.
Tell 'im I already got one. LMAO
tell him I already got one!
All bivalves are notorious for going both ways.
This kind of comedy beats whatever crap the US networks churn out! Long Live Monty Python!!
@dharmaseed Couldn't it be both? Schtick doesn't necessarily mean low-brow throw-away lines!
I love his legs best of all.. and he's wearing heels here. LOL
@Elric33239 Funny, I thought 'Tell 'im I already got one' was just schtick.
What Terry Jones just did with the TV, Ive been wanting to do to my boyfriend's XBOX. It's not that it's a big deal really, he plays it more than he sleeps, no joke.
Tell 'im I already got one....roflmao
I was gonna say that :P
was that Mad Eye Moody narrating on the tv?
I got VD from the whelk...
I thought you said bacon...
BACON????? WHERE'S BACON????
What is it with them starting a scene with a woman stuffing a chicken? I think this is the third skit. LoL!
Kill your tv -Monty Python
I thought you said BACON
That was absolutely disgusting and rude!
From 0:35 - 0:56, funny stuff you'll NEVER see done by today's so-called comedians!
Clams these days!
Why do they have fours on their backs?
Marzipan25 I believe they're meant to be dance contest competitors who've lost.
Funny However, the sad irony is that Graham Chapman was in fact homosexual.

it's funny because graham chapman was gay.
Not so fast! The moustache joke is one of Groucho Marx' classics. I object to this sketch...
i think its called an homage
joj An "homage"? I've already got one...
I've always wondered what the gay men (Graham ) felt when they were doing homophobic comedy.
This isn't homophobic - it's a satire of homophobic media. Graham actually wrote most if not all of the gay-themed material and insisted it be played, despite the trepidation of the other Pythons.
