My builds in its big brother, the tower 900. When it first came out, modders made those cases look just like those things. One of the best was a case modded out to look like a Classic Donkey Kong cabinet.
Good on you for removing that last screw at 10:26 . I bought this case and read the instruction which don't say that this screw above the IO needs to be removed. So I just kept pulling and pulling until the plastic broke. A warning for anyone else who buys the Tower 100. That last screw that isn't mentioned in the manual DOES need to be removed or you'll end up like me with some broken plastic.
From Steve’s video review to this build, it looks like Thermaltake made some improvements. The temps don’t look bad either. Like you said, the trade offs for slightly higher temps is component protection and those things. I’ve always wanted to build a mini ITX machine, I might use this case! Nice job Paul and good to see you building again. 👊🏼
This is the first ITX build that I have seen that actually looks really good. My wife agrees to the point that she ordered a MB and the case in BR Green already so I guess I get the pleasure of building in it for her. Jelly....

@@adamd1347 I disagree. Mini-ITX is minimalist by definition. In other words, the "minor or moderate" versions of a handful of components. You definitely get to use full size components but for the most part, things are kept to a minimum to keep size and cost down - minimalistic 🤷♂️ Oh wait, but he said ITX, not Mini-ITX 🤦♂️

Super pumped. I ordered all the pieces for almost this exact built on prime day and this video is pure GOLD when it comes to showing how to put it all together. This will be my first custom build so it helps a ton.

I ended up upgrading my GPU about a month after and it was about 2mm too long to fit but there is a hex panel at the bottom is exactly the right spot for an easy cut to make room (lol or just dont get an 7800). The thermals on the case do tend to run a bit hot, but with proper air flow I haven't had any issues.
I'd say TT definitely listened and did some major revisions to the case, definitely needed it. Really nice looking case, very accessible and I bet would be fun to do some mods to. Flip screen on the GPU definitely works well with the case layout.
I'm late to the party, I didnt know this case was this old! I took advantage of Prime days this year and byilt a computer to run my CNC milling machine. This case caught my eye because it looks similar to the machine its running. I also went with a 5900x as it was heavily discounted. I paired this with an RX6600 Sapphire. I am running the same cooler, also with a 140mm fan on the bottom and top as well as the same 120mm AIO youre using. Been a solid PC for me and does everything i need it to do. I enjoyed building in the case and would recommend it.
i was looking to build an ITX for my build project this year, and i came across this case, and typed in the search in youtube and here I am at Paul's Hardware. Looking at the full build i think this will be my future build.
Microcenter is great! Yes, stock runs out fast. But they do seem to bring in stock more frequently than others have. I was lucky enough to get a 3060ti there just before year end.
Let us know how you get on! Would be interesting to see if it reduces CPU temps at all. Seems like the only intake option since you really want a fan above the PSU pulling air up into the top exhaust fan.
@@xBlitzzOfficial Well, to summarize my anecdotal, uncontrolled and scientifically lacking results from back to back cinebench multicore runs. Temps from HWinfo64 Best results were to leave the rear fan as exhaust and add the intake fan over the basement on the PSU shroud like Paul did in his build. I did swap out the top exhaust for a 140mm and used that one out of the top over the PSU. Without the intake fan on the shroud CPU was averaging 75 in either rear config, in or out. Seemed a little noisier as intake though. Using the 120mm case fan out of the top exhaust as intake over the PSU, average dropped to 71 with the rear as exhaust and 73.5 flipped to intake. I think bringing air in from the rear it doesn't really have anywhere to go but stuck behind the motherboard and ends up impeding the air from the side panels that should be getting pulled into the case. Top and rear exhaust work better in tandem rather than fighting each other. Ryzen 5 3600 w/wraith prism cooler that I had in the spare parts box - PBO enabled MSI MPG B550I Gaming Edge Wifi 16 GB ram @ 3200 EVGA RTX 3070 XC3 Black EVGA 650W supernova G5

@@xBlitzzOfficial No problem, I was curious anyway - might as well share since you asked! No, fan doesn't fit underneath with an ATX PSU in there. Even with a skinny fan and SFX PSU I think it would be pretty tight without much air space. If you're using an air cooler make sure you mount the shroud intake fan before the air cooler goes on... I waited to give my big clumsy paws a little more room to make connections at the bottom of the board and forgot about the fan until the end. Ended up using rubber fan "screws" closest to the board since I wasn't interested in taking the cooler off.
Thanks Paul - this actually is making me consider a "small" build for once - typically paranoid about things fitting but you demonstrated the versatility on this revised case. Maybe Steve can revisit with the revision?
Just picked up this case today in white. Working on replacing the right side glass panel with an ultra thin XSPC 240 radiator. It should workout to be pretty easy.
The full size ATX PSU support is what sold me on this case. I wanted a smaller case and had small form factor everything except the PSU - didn't want to replace a perfectly good PSU.
I nearly bought this case, but I wasn't sure it would fit my Sapphire RX 7900 XTX Nitro+, so I settled for the Cooler Master NR200P. Awesome video, thank you for the great work. 😃
the jab at steve was well done. props. edit: if you match the infinity fabric to the ram, it will actually be faster than just having the ram clocked way high. so clock the ram down to 3600 and tighten the timings a tad, leave the IF at 1800mhz, and youll get more oomph. Jay tested that a while back, and it works. ram speed isnt everything, matching ram with the IF is.
Awesome as always, particularly genius to test the parts for thermals/performance in and outside the case, that's fairly scientific and very cool! (argh pardon the pun sorry).

I love 200mm fans, the only thing I wish is they would make this case with both a top and a bottom 200mm aRGB variable speed fan design... and also tweek it just a tiny bit larger to support a 480mm Cooler Radiator x with 45mm Fins, with holes / bracket to support a 360mm cooler also (side or rear mount) That gives you max airflow and also max cooler block support for the mini-itx power build...
I love the look of the case and the build. In my opinion, maybe a CPU that doesn't draw so much heat would be a good fit with an aio and the passive cooling? I could see a budget build fitting well into the case.
Hi Paul, Thanks for another great build. Just a note about your the bar graphs. It may be better to group by type of test rather than by "No Case" and "Tower 100. That way your eyes not have to skip over lines to compare the data.
G'day Paul, When you were showing the Fan behind the Motherboard Tray I was thinking that would have been Intake, it would help to cool the 3.5" Drives & the Mobo VRM if it was Another PC Case that has benefited from G/N Steve explaining that 'You Need Air to cool PC Components & Air Can't Pass through Glass', it would be cool to have an optional 'All AirFlow' panel on the GPU Fan side, but at least you now have some airflow there for the GPU
Refreshing to get a different case design. Aesthetically, the build looks beautiful with excellent cable management channels. Hoping there will be an update to the design in the future to allow for more active airflow.
I just want to point out that we've come full circle. First we stopped using retail cuz they didn't have good pricing and availablity, now we use it because it has good availability and pricing.GJ Microcenter, you freaking get it!
Wow, I really like this as an upgrade from my Elite 120 build I've had for many years. It sits in the living room and is also connected to a 55" for gaming (Skyrim in 4K👍) . Bought all my upgrades for a new build (except GPU) as soon as I saw things about to go crazy. My 1080 will just have to do for a long while. Thanks for showing us this build, I may have to send back my Lancool 2.

Great review! I would be curious to know the temp differences with/without the added 140mm fan and the sandwiched fan with the radiator at the top. Anyone using an AIO should include those two fans as a min.

I nearly bought this case, but I wasn't sure it would fit my Sapphire RX 7900 XTX Nitro+, so I settled for the Cooler Master NR200P.

Great review! I would be curious to know the temp differences with/without the added 140mm fan and the sandwiched fan with the radiator at the top. Anyone using an AIO should include those two fans as a min.
Not a bad case at all. Really like the dust filters.
