A broken Primarch, his legion so desperate to connect with their father, they mangled their bodies and souls and sacrificed any humanity they might have had. World Eaters are one of the most tragic legions in the W40K lore, and this video does them service.
The world eaters saw a foe to humanity in their father.. but they were weak like the sons of perty and buckled because they were desperate weebs

Turned into the mirror of all that because he was no father… he was a man that found a tool. Angron and his legion did what we all would were we in that same position. They are the only ones who can truly could say the emperor didn’t deserve them.

I remember seeing a theory that because all the primarchs had a gift. Angrons wasn't anger, or marshal might or strategy. He wasn't supposed to be a warrior. He was supposed to be a diplomat.
His gift was empathy.
He was supposed to care.
That's why he lost right from the beginning, because he wasn't supposed to be a conqueror in the first place.
That's why the natives could trick him and imprison him then stick him with the nails.
That's why the emperor let his army die on his homeworld, because he didn't see it as a noble army fighting against tyranny, he saw his diplomat with a bunch of half starved brutal gladiators not even attempting peace and willing to all die pointlessly in a final struggle.
That's not diplomacy, that's an error that will soon correct itself if he doesn't intervene.
I mean think about how powerful even a newly hatched Primarch is?
Is there any civilization in 30k with only a single planet that could catch, restrain and then operate on one? Especially with enough certainty that it wouldn't backfire or he just slaughter them all?
Yet they managed to do brain surgery to Angron?
Nah, way I see it. The only way that's possible would be if there was a situation where Angron was forced to let it happen.
Say, if he was built for empathy, and they threatened someone else's life.
And everytime Angron tried to help or feel or care for others. He was just tortured and hurt as a response. Makes sense that pretty soon he's come to despise and detest any behaviour anything like that.
Because the only response he's ever witnessed to that was negative.
Thats why he abuses the worldeaters. Because he sees in them blind loyalty and a level of compassion that he can't see as anything other than either a trick against him. Or a naivety that is disgusting.
I know it’s been 3 months, but I can’t help but comment how much I agree with this. It only strikes home for me when he was recently taken control by Khorn and Khorn gave him a brief moment of piece.

The Legion never had to prove themselves worthy of Angron. Angron had to be worthy of his legion
The Emperor should had to prove himself to be worthy for Angron, he never was and forced him to serve, Angron had to prive himself worthy if his legion, he never was and never wanted to be.
The Legion understood that their father didnt want to be worthy of them, so they tried to be worthy of for him, it never shouldve been and yet it happened
He's not Vulcan.
Never going to happen Angevin wanted to die with his original brothers. In some sense you can understand why he is the way he is

The Emperor should've sent a few of his Custodians to look and teach their sons. Look out for them, only if the primarchs need it.

I have a feeling it was simply nostalgia blinding. They might have been formidable, but Angron had been through so much that their loss and the nails simply didn't allow him to get past what they Astartes truly had to offer. He simply wanted to die, and take as much blood with him.

Kharn has to be one of the most badass of the Chaos Marines . Champion of Khorne who not only has self control and is coherent but also can back up any of his words he states . The kill counter in his helmet is also a funny addition to him

You know, "Kill! Maim! Burn!" Maybe it's his gretetest hit, but I really prefer "Get up" as catch phrase. It was like the final act of humanity from Khan and I love the scene. Great job, I love your works on this channel.

I've always felt Khârn was a tragic figure. But now... If I had been one of those other Legions' members who befriended him as a brother, I'd have shed a tear to see what became of him.
His life was a candle in a cave. And he looked out upon the valley and saw his father, alone, broken, and dark. Kharn and his brothers walked into the wind, so they too could be alone, broken, and dark.
The world eaters are one of the most tragic legions. Great video as always

Sigismund first Marshall of the Black Templars and the Emperor's Champion was the only one to truly defeat him in melee combat.
I enjoyed scene in Warhawk. Especially the idea that Kharn was afraid of what Sigismund, and by extension, the imperium had become.

Great video. Kharn is the true tragic tale of the World Eaters, he did everything for his legion minus stand up to Angron. Even after the nails he fought for Argel Tal and others till eventually Erebus ruined it for him. Angron became the villain after he was found and brought to his Legion he was no longer the tragic hero he was the tyrant
If he stood up to Angron from the start his story would've been much shorter.
@@ashleyhoughton8592 false Angron didn't beat Kharn because because he did stand up to him with his word but didn't raise a hand no matter how much Angron hit him. He had the choice later and he stopped as he was trying to get his father's appoval.
Man this story is brutal. What excellent storytelling, Kharn's downfall was painful and heartbreaking. You did an excellent job portraying his story!

Wow. Just wow. You absolutely smashed this! I listened to whole video in one sitting. You really captured the pathos and tragedy of the downfall of Kharn and his Legion, once noble in their martial prowess but ultimately damned to be butchers and slaughterers. Absolutely superb work, bravo!

I don't stand over, agree with or in any way enjoy the new lore for the Emperor, kind of dilutes an excellent aspect of Warhammer 40k, essentially the only noble and relieving aspect of the grimdark universe.
Yet, Emperor aside, this story is really good, and the way you're translating it is absolutely brilliant. I think the World Eaters needed this, really, too many memes and silly buzzword clickbait comments about Angron and the World Eaters. I think you almost single-handedly saved them, for me anyway. Bravo sir.
We started making content about the same time, I had to drop doing it for a while for personal reasons, but really happy you got so much success pushing through my guy!

I always knew about 40,000 Warhammer and played the video game on PlayStation back in 94-95 I believe it was. I'm amazed how it evolved. I'm New to what's been taking place over the year's but I've been catching up as of late and Kharn was one of my favorites and wondered how his story played out. Now I see. Great video indeed. I have watched this all the way through like 3 times now. I have never been able to empathize with the World Eaters before, this seriously made me look at them and obviously Kharn too. He almost sounds like a poet with his quotes, like a stoic zen master drug fueled blood crazed berserker Buddhist.
I used to play over 20 years ago and had chaos space marines and khorne berserkers and kharne in my army... I never realised how cool their actual story was.
Destroy move on and destroy more !! Just how i like it, no time wasted playing around with enemies, just pure carnage over and over forever until there is nothing and noone standing left but yourself.

I have been reading the Horus Heresy series and got just over an hour into the video before I hit where I am in the books. Wonderful stuff here, can't wait to finish as Khârn is my favorite. There were great loyalists and sensible astartes in the legion but Kharn was always there to nudge the legion on to the path to damnation. His monicker the betrayer is truly fitting, he betrayed everything, his Emperor, his legion, his species and his own humanity, one of the most tragic characters indeed.
World Eaters are my favorite legion. I was telling a friend of my mine (who I'm trying to get into 40k) about Kharn, my favorite 40k character. I was looking on RUclips for a video and found this. Me and my buddy, who isnt even a huge fan (yet) were enthralled and watched/listened to the entire 2 hour video without pausing.
