Sara is incredible. Saw her in concert near Pittsburgh, and she is a great performer, and very funny as well. She is a 10 and she has tons of great songs. More please.. Merry Christmas
40-some years ago I was playing soccer with her dad here in Eureka, CA. She originally garnered local fame with her rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner. I'd never seen her perform, so this was a real kick. 😊
Sara Bareilles has written many popular songs and wrote the music for the Broadway musical, Waitress. She is an amazing si ger/pianist. Some of her many popular songs are "Brave," "Gravity," "Love Song," "She Used to Be Mine," "A Safe Place to Land," You Matter to Me."
Ooohhh. I love this! I've never seen anyone react to it! She has a great voice. You two should realllly do some Elton John! Such a deep rabbit hole. Tiny Dancer, Levon, Rocket Man, Your Song, Bennie and the Jets, Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters, and many, many more.
She's one of my absolute favorites! And yeah, she has an amazing set of pipes! You need to hear more of her catalogue: "Gravity," "She Used To Be Mine," "Lovesong," "Gonna Get Over You," and so many more
I'm so happy you guys reacted to this! I don't think I've ever seen a reaction to it. It's just one of those absolutely incredible performances. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@g3synth205 That's funny that I forgot about that CV reaction because that reaction is literally how I discovered this performance, lol. And I had never even heard of Sara before, but now I understand how prolific and amazing she is. But yes, I've followed Elizabeth for a very long time now. I'm a musician myself, and I just love her ability to break it down. Plus, she knows her stuff, obviously, having performed in major opera productions around the world. And her experience in the studio really shows as well now. ❤️
Great talent - and very friendly and humble. Had a wonderful time in her company one afternoon in Cambridge, MA while she was composing her new musical, "Waitress."
Appreciate your channel.I dish you would play more Elton songs. So many great hits and videos from the early 70's. Check out Funeral for a friend/Love lies bleeding.
Sarah is SUCH an under appreciated singer. It’s so sad because she her technical skills are top notch and she’s one of the best and most consistent voices out there, along w Kelly Clarkson
Yes I think this was Eltons favourite cover version of this great song. She has a beautiful voice and is one of the many female singers who deserve to be a bigger star than she already is, Fiona Apple is another & Chinchilla.
She actually is an amazing writer and writes all her songs. In fact, she arranged and the wholec soundtrack for the musical Waitress. She performed in it as well. Or got a few Tony nominations but it was the same year as Hamilton so…,
Sara did a beautiful In Memoriam performance at the 2014 Oscars. Ten years later, and it's still my favorite performance from her. Highly recommend checking it out.
Her cover of sitting on the dock of the bay is amazing. Also her cover of Cee-lo Green's F you is is good too. Hope y'all react to them as well. The f you song might be a little difficult for you tube though
"PROBABLY" should do MORE EJ ??? ....I TOTALLY second that emotion!!! lol You've only got nearly 6 decades worth of albums full of songs from Empty Sky in 1970 to The Lockdown Sessions in 2021....and counting ! As well as numerous music videos, LIVE performances, interesting documentaries and HISTORIC full concerts to venture through here on the Tube of You!! haha Enjoy the unparalleled musical careers from The Dynamic Duo with a wide variety of multi-genre-influenced songs that IS SIR Elton John and Bernie Taupin! Sending you both the BEST Christmas Wishes and AMAZING things in 2025 and BEYOND! From this constant Sub here in Calgary, Alberta! Shawn aka "sweetieguy"
She does enunciate her words more clearly than Elton does. I had always thought it was "friend's house." No, it's "Penthouse." And I had always just glossed over whatever Elton was saying when it was "Horny backed toad."
Sorry, but as for me original is better. I never understood why in covers they interrupt the flow of melody, and even more so change the most beautiful moments
Ma'am, that's what artistry is all about. They take songs we've heard a million times and breathe new life into them and make it their own. No one wants to listen to a parrot.
@@sandie00 So you can do something else, different and new but keep the melody, and not turn it into abrupt pieces. There are plenty of examples of such songs. Nirvana - The man who sold the word, Disturbed - Sound of silence, Freddy Mercury - Great pretender, Limp Bizkit - Behind blue eyes, Merlyn Manson - Sweet Dreams, Mellen Gi & Tommee Profitt - in the end and other.
My favorite Elton John song, and one of my absolute favorite cover versions of all time.
Elton loved this cover so much that he later sang a cover of her song Gravity, together with her on stage.
Sir Elton once said that this was his favorite cover. As others have said, her "She Used to be Mine" is even more beautiful.
Sara is incredible. Saw her in concert near Pittsburgh, and she is a great performer, and very funny as well.

The first time I saw that performance, I watched it another 10 times. Phenomenal.
Force of nature.
Check out her own song Gravity (live).
Thank you guys for the reaction. I’m so happy you liked it. As someone already said She used to be mine is beautiful as well as Gravity. ❤
Now this is a rabbit hole. So many great performances. The best ones are live.
Elton joined Sara on stage to perform her hit “Gravity” after she had covered this.

Guys! you MUST do more Elton John songs. but studio versions from his greatest period which was IMO 1970-75.

You should react to her song She Used To Be Mine.

The Charismatic Voice (really popular reaction channel - 1.84M subs currently) did a reaction to this. There's a handful out there.

@@stevedahlberg8680 Search this string here on YT for another one I recommend. Nice vocal coach reaction channel as well:

@@stevedahlberg8680 Look up the reaction to this song by Jennifer Glatzhofer. It's a vocal coach reaction too. A real charming person to watch.

Many great songs
wow, never heard her before. NICE!
Jump down the rabbit hole. She's incredible. Faultless live

I adore you both - from the UK. Please do Sara Bareilles - She Used To Be Mine. 🥰

Elton's greatest songs include Levon, Tiny Dancer and Madman Across the Water 👍
Another Elton cover is Heart performing Mona Lisa’s and Mad Hatters❤
Brilliant! Added. Thanks Karin.
She's amazing, love this more than the original. Check out She Used To Be Mine, studio version.
❤❤❤❤ try crocodile rock by Elton John. I think you’ll like it.❤❤❤

Look up Waitress.
Lots of her own original songs.
With her singing; I could finally understand, what the lyrics were all about👍🏻

Her name is pronounced BA-REL-ESS.
I love Sarah same as a singer than a composer, but in this case I prefer the original.
She does enunciate her words more clearly than Elton does. I had always thought it was "friend's house." No, it's "Penthouse." And I had always just glossed over whatever Elton was saying when it was "Horny backed toad."
Last name pronounced Barrellas
I like original better, but this isn't bad.

Sorry to say not a good version at all , sounded terrible compared to original. 😢
