  • Let's get lost together in the endless sea of options and potential that is the Waldorf Quantum MkII :)
    Let's talk about analog and digital. Keys vs no keys. The meaning of life. All that. All that. All that. But, more than anything, let's listen to some gooey sounds from this exceptional synth.

    Thanks for this. I met Richard Devine and asked him about the synth.He said it was one of his favourite synths, which bugged me because now I'm looking at the most expensive synth that will be the next in my studio. The sounds I've heard on here helped me solidify everything. I have a Virus Ti2 and I feel like it would be an amazing complement to this thing.

    • @AdamsOlympia
      @AdamsOlympia 15 дней назад

      Just got the Virus TI2 and it's the best purchase I've made so far. Nothing sounds quite like it. Iridium Core was pretty high on the list but Virus has so much character and personality that most other digital synths lack imo.

    I learned some super useful things in this video. Sample Robot sounds like a real gem. I like the idea of making say mini Moog more polyphonic. You can then do analog sound design on your favorite synth and then add extra digital processing on it on the Quantum, best of both worlds. Edit: I have not had a single crash on mine in about 4 month of us every day. I also agree about 8 analog voices not being a problem, I mix with digital and I cannot hear a difference when playing many keys. When comparing them you hear a bit of difference but not in play.

    Owning one of these I totally get how you feel about it....yes it's expensive...most expensive instrument I've ever bought...yes, you could create these sounds with a vst and use a hardware controller, but there's just something about having an instrument with it's own knobs! I've created more patches on mine than I have ever done on a vst, or anything else for that matter in the few months that I've had it and not even stratched the surface of what it's capable of...it's just 🤤 I've learnt some new things from your video too, thanks 😁

    There are so many things I love about the waldorf you have so eloquently displayed here.The crashing is a major bummer.I am noticing a trend with waldorf making great synths with buggy engines.
    Also just a tip...
    Invest in some dummy batteries for your cameras so you do not have to worry about swapping batteries all the time. It will make your life WAAAYYY easier. Each camera vender should have a reliable one that will do the trick nicely, then you won't have to worry about having your creative flow interrupted by dying batteries.

    There's a patch you had on your Iridium keyboard demo I think you described as creepy when you used the PAT, that I loved. I'm curious how that would sound on the Quantum. I know they're using the same engine and all, but in the demos I've watched lately, the Iridium seems to sound more glassy. So just curious if they sound the same to you. Thanks!

    • @dimund
      @dimund  2 месяца назад +1

      Would likely sound the same!!! People might have the bass boost off on the master, which can lead to a much more transparent sound. That's desirable when you are trying to capture a sample accurately, but maybe not for some applications. I generally keep it on, unless I am trying to get a clean sound when sampling.
