Oh wow! My husband and I stayed in this hotel when it was a Howard Johnsons for three nights in September 2001. Had a beer or two at that very pool bar and enjoyed a wonderful conversation with a guy from Scotland. The last day we checked out and went to Magic Kingdom. It was 9/11/01 and the park was evacuated. We drove the backroads back to Tallahassee as we didn't know what was coming next. Very scary memories. Had no idea sitting at the pool bar how the next day the world would change.

Old school Adam, love it. “AdamThe Woo goes on adventures for you, he don’t even ask your mom” if you know this, you have been watching him a long time

Adam, I cut my teeth on your channel when you first started with all the abandoned exploration content. Glad to see more of it. This is your niche.

My wife worked at that hotel in his glory when there was bustling people trying to get booked in. It is a shame that Walt Disney world has almost created a monopoly? 😓

It´s amazing that it's been 21 years since the year 2000. I remember being a teenager back in 1989 wondering what the year 2000 would be like.

These places make me really upset. They could have opened places like this for like income people, possibly homeless vets. But no, they would rather let it fall to pieces.. What a shame

I appreciate you not using foul language and not being a drunkard. The Lord bless you sir.

That weird parking space is where they corral those commercial trash dumpsters. You push them in sideways and then rotate them. If they start to “roll away” they can’t get out. Oftentimes these are either surrounded by walls or put in the back away from Public view.

A one-star hotel. Actually a zero star hotel, if there was such a thing. Stuff like that should have been demolished a long time ago.

It always makes me a little sad when I see a once-thriving place, abandoned.

It makes me sad to see abandoned places that were once hustling and bustling with people and laughter and memories of families having fun and now its desolate.

This is old school Adam. Reminds me of the time where you entered a hotel or something that was abandoned and you met some people. You went and bought some water, food and supplies and gave it to the people living there. I believe that was out west in Cali.

I stayed here with my mom and dad in fall of 2003 when it was the Howard Johnson. The IHOP next door was the first IHOP I had ever been and I thought it was the greatest. We ate at the Shonny’s that was near there as well. The last night before we were to leave my dad got appendices and he walked to the hospital in celebration! So we had to stay a couple extra nights. We didn’t have a car because we flew in from Indian to go to WDW. Thanks for taking me down memory lane, Adam!

Ok, this just got weird. When you mentioned Howard Johnson’s, I realized that we stayed there with our kids in June of 2000. Just pulled out the photo album and confirmed it. If memory serves, they had a couple pools, but the larger one was closed for renovation when we were there. Probably bought a hot dog from you, Adam!

That was as scary as a haunted house. All the debris and junk laying around, not knowing if something or someone was going to pop out at you. I’m surprised every room isn’t occupied by the homeless. Nice someone is feeding the cats but they really do need rescued.

It’s so peaceful exploring these places. Kind of honoring the past, the older ya get the more past you have
