One summer as a kid, my dad, my two uncals and myself went out on a three day fishing voyage (I wouldn't call it a fishing trip, as it's my uncals actual job, we were just tagging along for the adventure/experience.)
Day three, we we suppost to make port and hit a storm, so we had to stay offshore and ride it out untill the waters were calm enough to make port. One of my uncals fryed me some hake (really good tasting fish you can get off the waters here in Ireland) in a pan for me with no problem at all. He was well used to the waters. I just ate the fish and redecorated the floor with it after a few while, as the ship kepth rocking in the storm. I'm very glad that I had the experience of it though.

    Aloha fr 🌴 O'ahu, Hawaii,
WONDERFUL video in honor of North shore 'garlic n butter' prawns @prawn shacks n 🦐shrimp trucks!!!
"ONO", Delicious !!! I could smell n taste those little bottom dwellers while you were cooking it!!!
That's one of the best flavors of Hawai'i !!
Try Kaua'i shrimp its the sweetest juiciest 🦐 shrimp on the planet!! Those are amazing also!!!
One change I would make is use more garlic. Garlic helps your circulation n lowers blood pressure. Plus that little bit of garlic on rice goes along way!!! "ONO"! Simply delicious! (Shoyu is used to add umami flavor n the salt in shoyu helps to bring out the sweetness of the prawns). I love to put some shoyu on my rice before I serve the prawns! Try it.
I'm gonna cook some up right now!!
    Yummmm😁
Mahalo for sharing this video Emmy. You're the best!
    T🌺

I had North Shore style garlic shrimp at Giovani's along the North Shore. So delicious and so messy. You did a great job.

I have punch cards for Romy’s I eat there so often. I always get two different flavors of shrimp plates. Before Romy’s I stop at uncle Woody’s for grilled corn on the cob. After Romy’s, I stop at Ray’s Kiawe for a couple of broiled chickens to take home. My stops would not be complete without stopping at Hale’iwa Bowls for an açaí bowl. Favorite vegetarian place on the North shore is Beet Box Cafe.

Omg emmy!!!!! I love you even more!!!! My favorite number has always been 9 and also 456... until I got older I finally realized why I love them numbers... my first love, their face number was 9.... then my mom and dad's birthday is 10/9 and 9/10... I want the tattoo of the numbers vertically on both sides so you can still read it both ways... and 456 if you add the the last two numbers to the first one, its still 9 and 10... I love you so much more now!!! Lmao !!!

I'm convinced the people who like eating shrimp/prawn shells (even deep fried) are the same people who like chewing their fingernails. ;-)

This is why you never cook naked. Looks yummy!🍤🍤🍤. I love everything in this dish. Butter, garlic, prawns/shrimp, rice. 💖💖💖I cant tell what the secret phrase emojis are, so this is my best guess. Chicken scraps!

Went to romys right after eating at Giovanni’s. What a waste of my time. But if you enjoy waiting an hour for 4 shrimp that appear large because the heads attached be my guest. I was thoroughly disappointed with me experience. Go to Giovanni’s, save time, enjoy a better meal, and larger portion.

Reminds me of a great restaurant down in New Orleans. Right off of Bourbon St. I think it might have been "New Orleans Kitchen". Regardless, they had what they called B-B-Que shrimp. Heads on. Saucy brown gravy. Big pile of rice in the middle of the plate. Messiest meal to eat, but damn it was good! Wonder if it's still there.

I'm just thinking: imagine how hard, and dangerous to your face, it would be to do this, with the splattering, on a fishing trawler, during a storm...I've been there once before as a kid (two of my uncals are fishermen and one summer time, dad and I joined them and I guess one or two of the other fishermen on the boat didn't go, because there were only, four beds, (two sets on bunk-beds fixed/built into the ship) in the front hull of the ship.
We only went out for three days which I think is a typical professional fishing trip lenght of time. Day three we hit a storm, so we couldn't make it to harbour, in case the waves would smash the boats against the rocks, so we did the typical boat in a storm thing, when your caught in a storm that you haven't managed to avoid, and just ride out the storm in the ocean.
But you need to eat at some point and one of my uncals fryed me some hake, which is some really good tasting fish in the waters here off shore from Ireland, but when the waters are like, making the floor more shaky then one of the kids shaky floors in an amunsment park, you gotta eat at some point, and it only lasted in my belly for a short time, before it then decorated the wheelhouse (controlroom/kitchen/living area) floor/deck.
I was just thinking, while watching Emmy, if it's hard to stand (the fishermen are well used to it though), when the floor is moving with the waves and has a little salt water, from tht ocean on it, imagine trying to fry something as splattery as what Emmy was frying?
These fishermen, would have had long sleaves, for fishing in the ocean, with the cold, but even so, you face would need to have a splatter sheild, or just not cook splattering food, because you goin to get that stuff in your face/eye, sooner or later.
Again, love the videos Emmy! Keep up the great work. :)
    :)
You look so tiny, next to/behind, the big wok/frying pan thing.
In case anyone reading this is wondering:
I live in Ireland, and the fishing port would have been Castletownbear, a farming/fishing town on the south coast of Ireland, so this would be like the western north Adlantic ocean, close to the Irish shore, very, very much to the north of Spain.
Again, it's summer time, so the waters aren't deadly cold the way they would be winter, except if your in the water for a long period of time, like 24 hours or someting like that. A famous football player crashed, in a small plane with just himself and the planes pilot, into the English channel (the water between England and France) a few months ago, and after, I think three days, the search party announced to the media that they had to face the the reality that the footballer and his pilot would have died from the cold by then.
But there was no chance of that happening to us, it's a fishing trawler, storms are things that happen and the fishermen are well used to, and the boat would sertinally have been designed to handle, even when fully loaded with it's haul of fish.

I was surprised how you praised farm raised shrimp. We have that in SC but noone that loves shrimp every buys it since it is so mild and you don't have the shrimp flavor. We also don't cook the shrimp as long as you do. When it curls take it off. Tough shrimp is dry and you lose that shrimp experience. First time I haven't agreed with something you cooked. If I hadn't cooked so much shrimp in my life I probably wouldn't have cared. But we eat lots of shrimp in my house.
