  • @CyRxJustin

I noticed this back when the whole MGK thing came out. I thought it was weird that Em called Diddy out at the end. Then there was the stuff where Diddy's employees were talking about how bad Eminem's Killshot was and how he was washed up. And at the same time you have Eminem shouting out all these upcoming artists "I inspire the Hopsins, the Logics, the Coles
The Seans, the K-Dots, the 5'9"s..." He also starts doing a bunch of collabs with these young lyrical monsters. I said it was like he was getting an army together, to put together a group of loyal rappers like in the days of G-Unit and all that, but even I felt like I sounded a little goofy saying it.
Now, though, like this shit's INSANE. I get some people don't relate to his music but objectively saying he's not one of the most influential people in history in the game is crazy talk to me. He inspired a whole generation, he made hip hop front page news when he came out - not that it was some underground club before him, but EVERYONE was talking about Eminem. Before him, as far as white rappers, you had Vanilla Ice who was a PG wannabe. Then you get Eminem coming out who is legit bringing heat and he's got Dre behind him and he's part of hip hop instead of trying to cash in on it. And then he comes out with New Eminem and at the height of mumble rap he shows everyone how shit it is, he makes "mumble rapper" an insult and suddenly he's bringing hip hop back to the roots and away from braindead commercialism. All this time he's just putting everything into hip hop, not cashing out and leaving it all behind just because he's made it.
Snoop is free to say he doesn't think Eminem is in the top 10, there's a lot of history and talent to go through and Snoop's tastes I wouldn't think align with Eminem. But to then go on to say you could do without it, that's where you get crazy. You can say you don't care for the guy but to pretend like he isn't a super influential person in the scene is stupid at best, deliberately and malignantly wrong at worst.
The part that's got me lost though is why Royce came out and backed it up. I mean, they seem close, I love the hell out of Royce's lyricism but I wouldn't know about him if it wasn't for Hell: The Sequel. Snoop's great, but to say Doggystyle is irreplaceable and none of Em's albums are? gtfo.

I grew up on the 80s 90s hip hop and i can say that that the slip shady EP and LP songs like low down and dirty and pretty much every song on the lp are untouchable classics and irreplaceable albums.. Hands down but haters are gonna hate especially when hes pushin 50 and still owns the game i could see where the hate comes from cause most people dont actually listen to what hes saying they just hear the hook or beat or style of delivery and dont hear the lyrics, for example songs like legacy. Bring on the giants falcons and miami dolphins, its body bag game bitch, im supplying coffins and i could go on but he a battle rapper in a rap game where even at this age very few will dare to challenge him and hes so bored that all he can do is warn people against even the thought of dissing him and is still clever enough to keep the game in a choke hold while being able to still keep ten toes does down in a battle and putt the brakes on someones rap career at almost 50 years old showing he can still walk his talk, for example MGK, i give him props for having the balls to go at em cause most dont but killshot was a swift reminder that ... The last thing you wanna do, is have me spit outta rhyme, and say i was writing this and i thought of you...

He wasn't socially awkward and just strange as a kid

"You're thinking like an alien, it just ain't realistic."
Now pretend they ain't just make him angry with this shit
And there was no one he could even aim when he's pissed at
And his alarm went off to wake him, but he didn't make it
To the Rap Olympics, slept through his plane and he missed it
He's gon' have a hard time explaining to Hailie and Lainey

This actually makes me feel sick. If anything were to happen to Em I think , well actually I know I would lose faith in any integrity within hip hop. It would be one of the worst days I’d ever live to see. I’m am beyond grateful that I grew up with Em. They will be talking about his music forever and how it changed the game, breathed life back into lyrical rap, made rappers want to be better, helped so many people get through hard times. THAT’S how you know if Em’s career was wiped it would absolutely change the direction it went in.
It’s sickening to think there’s a negative agenda that influential people are trying to push to remove Em from the hip hop culture.
It’s even more sickening to know that it all boils down to jealousy. Such bitter voices that want more than they can earn by themselves with Em around. Like I said this really really scares me.

My Mom and I are Hispanic.
When I was like 10, I brought home The Marshall Mathers LP that my younger cousin let me borrow which his Stepdad had at home. Blasting that album at my own home would get me in trouble with my Mom because I was a kid and Em cursed a lot, etc.
Now 2 decades later my Mom likes blasting Eminem songs after she works out in the living room. I always introduce her to his new surprise albums that he drops and she's blown away by his speed, etc.
Eminem's music has had a positive impact on my life. My Mom also like some songs from Slaughterhouse.
P.s. She also headbangs with me while listening to System Of A Down, Korn, Disturbed, etc.

I think one point that was made is so true, Eminem made rap accessible for so many people that may not have felt welcome before, he literally bridged a divide, ultimately he is always going to receive hate, all people at the top of their game do, look at Lewis Hamilton, tons of hate, loads of people saying he is just lucky, luck doesn’t come in to it when you are at the very top of your game.....also, and this is just my humble opinion, but I think Snoop Dogg is a little salty, I just don’t think he is relevant anymore and he doesn’t like the attention Em is getting, Snoop has even started doing adverts for food delivery services!!!

Truthfully, you can erase any one artists discography and have same question.......what if there was no Pac?...no Biggie?...would hip hop not exist? This is nothing new....Em has angered a lot of people through the years. Could care less about what "culture" thinks of Em....I got into rap BECAUSE OF EM..Em da GOAT Period. #hilltopmafia

I don’t get why people get so offended by his lyrics.
If they were written by an author, a screenplay writer, for the theater, to make a great story, people wouldn’t have been so offended - then they would have been seen as storytelling but because it’s rap people get offended and almost seems to think he would actually do those things

I think many people don't understand everything and stay at the surface of eminem lyrics, and many of them I guess don't relate to the way he says the things. But with people like Knox, breaking bars, and explaining meaning behind these words, it's easier to see how good Em is and even probably relate to it in a way. To finish, i think most of the offended just dont understand what he is saying :)

Eminem influence goes beyond Hip Hop!
Because the way Em is telling stories through his songs inspired many other artists.
Take for example Alec Benjamin...who isn't a rapper, said that Em has influenced him to tell stories through his songs.
You can put Ed Sheeran, Skylar Grey, and many other artists he collaborated with who gained some popularity but also help from him.
I think that this kind of influence is bothering some of Em ennemies. Because they are unable to do that.
They ar stuck in their world and don't want to evolve, to open their minds and eyes.
They want Rap and Hip Hop to be only "black music" but any kind of music can't be defined by the colour of the "creator".
If they are doing that, why don't they do the same for Jazz?
It doesn't make any sense, music isn't a property of any kind of people. It belongs to each one who likes it.
MGK tried to put some shade on Em, now who's the one in the shadows now?
Those guys who are against Em, if they don't pay attention who they are attacking, they are going to be "murdered" by Em through some of his songs.
Em isn't dumb enough to not know about that and not paying attention. But at the same time, he isn't very bother by it.
