Counter Strike wasn’t known in at school in the Netherlands. Thinking back at 1.6 brings back my young days when I went back to my home country as a kid. In Kosovo cs was really a thing and we kids would ask for some little money to be able to go to internet cafe’s and only play cs_assault. We were absolutely terrible at the game but it was a lot of fun. Being Kosovo at the time right after the war, power would drop and we couldn’t play but sometimes when the cafe was full, the owner would start his Diesel little power thing that would give it enough electricity for the computers to run. Those days were fun and I’ll never experience that again.
These were the stories that got my hooked on philip's content. Before youtube recommended his channel, I had zero interest into CSGO. i never even played CS:GO. But I was down for watching someone derank themselves for fun. The CS:S stories were oddly touching. I played CS:S back in the day, I even had a clan. And was even a clan leader. Life was simple. I had a similar childhood as him even though I'm a bit younger. The 2005 CS:S stuff, I never really touched 1.6 even though I bought it then.. I probably would have played it more if I were 5 years older
Had so much fun playing FPS online hardcore with my schoolfriends, CS, Half Life and Return to Castle Wolfenstein with all their crazy custom maps and sick skill videos that made you wanna be just like them. When World of Warcraft came out in 2005 it really did kill so many game communities back then, for better or worse, well I guess it depends on if you enjoyed grinding all day to then wipe in raids for hours, but it certainly divided my schoolfriends between those that hated nerdy RPGs who just wanted to shoot people so they played CoD instead. Then there were us guys who wouldn't turn up to school because they were grinding herbs day and night for the glory of our raiding guilds (or an all day alterac valley...). All this spurred along by the really wild west environment of the early internet before it was overtaken by social media, of countless flexing on clan forums and endless drama between angsty teens with too much power. Yeah it was dumb, but it sure was fun!
everything from his childhood to the background music to the editing is perfect... watched all 30 minutes and didn't get bored or see the time fly away

Billy the kool kid Back in like 03 me and my friends were REALLY into CS 1.6, and we had a "clan" of sorts. We limited it to close friends, until some other nerds at our school found out and made us fight them. It was pretty intense as we were all pretty good players. In the end it started a very heated rivalry, and we would constantly trash talk each other and leave weird posters on other team members lockers. Somehow the school found out and told us to keep our "gaming" exploits (that's actually what the principal said, I still remember it to this day) and not mess with other kids. So we just had to fight in our games. When source came out our older friend who had a job, bought us a server and it became pretty popular actually, the server was usually pretty full and we would dick with people by using our admin powers. It was fun.
Beta Killer was from Brazil. "Ti amo Jeanni" is a very common grammar error on the brazilian internet, especially by young people, like him. It should be "Te amo, Jeanni", which means "I love you, Jeanni".
some shit came 2 me 2 I stick around a clan got accepted. Then after a while we split the clan went with friends made our own servers we we're popular, we went into PGL, then I got kicked by my best bud and neighbour and he never spoke with me from that day. O_O that was 1.6.
Omg this video brings sooo many memories back into my head from back when I used to play 1.6 and Source with a clan, aaaahhhhh the moments I had with this clan of amazing players and friends that are still my friends even today.

It was fun.
Thx telling

Beta Killer was from Brazil. "Ti amo Jeanni" is a very common grammar error on the brazilian internet, especially by young people, like him. It should be "Te amo, Jeanni", which means "I love you, Jeanni".
