It was so unrestricted and never boring. You were let to do anything you wanted, so we all used our imagination to the fullest. CS 1.6 was an experience I am grateful to have been a part of. The countless hours of LAN experience, going from one LAN café to another. The rivalry between teams and the friendship that was build upon it. Sleeping together with the brothers on train/bus stations, parks, internet cafés traveling various cities only to compete for no prize at all but for pure achievement. To be the best or among the best. Doing the same thing for years and never feeling boredom or a need to stop. It's what love and passion are. The most fun I've had in my life and sadly the most fun I would most likely ever have... If there was a world where you can trade years, I'd definitely trade anything for 10 years of pure joy and happiness. I am grateful for everything you did and you continue doing. Thank you Patrik.

In 2002 i lived in an apartment where the guys below me liked to smoke green leafs and the guy above really liked CS 1.6, playing with speakers, not headphones, and also using ICQ, the message app of choice at the time. I remember hearing ICQ:s uh-oh! and the bouncing and explosion of grenades through his floor. At the time I was more into Quake although now the game of choice is ofcourse CS GO. Always nice seeing the content from you, f0rest!

Love the outside intros! But I recently about 3 weeks ago went and played 1.6 just for a vibe check and to see what the timeless classic was up to in 2022. In North America it was mainly spanish speaking 5v5 pugs, but all in all, it was a good time.
Can we just get back to 1.6 times? Everything was so easy back then and the community was just legendary, so many cool people. Im truly nostalgic right now, it was a lot of fun.

Between 19.00 cet and 00.00 most of the players seem to be online, at least on my list. Why you see 3000 servers i dunno,where are you from?

Oh boy..I still remember when I first discovered CS 1.6 back in 2007 when I went to my cousin because he had a Pentium 4 PC and he could run that game. I was 11 at that time..After that I went straight to the internet cafe and played with my friends for hours until one day when my parents bought me a Pentium 4 PC. It has been almost 10 years since I last played any CS game but I’m still watching some CS videos when I got the time and when I want to feel nostalgic again. I love it when CS legends come back to play some CS 1.6. Who knows..maybe one day our paths will cross again on the old de_dust2.

I don't know about today, but a couple of years ago fastcup used an ancient official server build. It gives the same game experience as 10+ years ago, but the vast majority of public servers have new builds REHLDS installed, where unlike fastcup you can feel the shooting is more modern and responsive, and it's confusing at times p.s f0rest is a legend, ofc ;D

Brings back so many memories, i used to host custom servers. alot of de_rats and shoothouse maps. Poolday, scoutsknvies, awp, lego, custom climb maps. the og only up maps. We used to import our own gun skins and sounds. Now they make you pay for all that. 1.6 was the most fun.

Brings back so many memories, i used to host custom servers. alot of de_rats and shoothouse maps. Poolday, scoutsknvies, awp, lego, custom climb maps. the og only up maps. We used to import our own gun skins and sounds. Now they make you pay for all that. 1.6 was the most fun.
This is back when we were playing this game series under pre-pandemic conditions! It was quite a time, man. Total nostalgia and childhood for me, too! :)
