"Planar chirality and Helicity" - Dr Ani Deepthi, Dept of Chemistry

This video is meant for the chemistry students who have a knowledge on chiral
centres and chiral axis. A molecule possesses chiral plane if the symmetry of a
perpendicular plane is lost by introducing a substituent. Helical molecules like DNA
and hexahelicene are also chiral. Three-dimensionally designed propeller shaped
conjugated systems showing helical chirality have attracted a lot of attention among
the chemists worldwide in view of their diverse applications.
