Thank you very, VERY much for this presentation. I really appreciate the clear and straightforward way with which you present your advice and experiences. There was definitely some new information for me here and also just some shared "oh yeah" moments that made me realize that I'm not the only person on the planet suddenly dealing with this. Also, you have a really engaging, natural on-camera style. I had my procedure 1/16/23. It was followed by many post-op complications and several extended hospital stays. Things have finally started settling down and I'm really happy that I found your channel. Many thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind words! So glad to hear that you’re doing better, and happy that my video and channel have been helpful! Wishing you the best.
I've had my colostomy for 3 1/2 years and it was a big change. I didn't feel comfortable changing my own bag for months. I had a home health care nurse do it until one time it leaked and I HAD to do it myself. Ever since then it hasn't phased me. I change it in the morning before I eat because the minute I put something in my mouth, it starts doing it's job.
Your video is by far and away the best one I've seen. Clear and concise information. I never thought about a heating pad. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes .
I’m so glad you did point out about the support groups and how there can be a lot of negative but doesn’t mean it will happen to you. I have an upcoming surgical consultation and am excited about getting my life back. I also have UC. Some posts are so scary though. Loved your video and so glad I found you.
Thank you, your information is valuable to me as a two week ileostomy ‘owner’. While this i’gift’ is certainly not one I would’ve ever wished, or wanted, it was medically necessary. I am adjusting to this new lifestyle. I’d like to know if you, or anyone of your followers can recommend any incontinence underpants for ileostomy possessors? Thank you. All tips welcomed.
Hello there.. My grandfather had a colostomy bag just 3 days ago after his surgery. The doctor advised that he couldn't eat anything or drink anything unless he passed some gas..any recommendations on what to do so he can't fart aside from walking?
My stoma changes shape & size every few minutes so I have problems getting hole in my stoma bag to fit properly.. between cutting the hole & sticking it to my skin my stoma will have changed I can never get it right.. also my stoma seems to constantly loose output or yellow stomach acid.. this gets me upset & very stressed as it burns my skin.. makes it sore & also can take sometime up to 1hr 30 mins to change my bag.. Its 15 month since I had my stoma operation..
Hi there, I’ve had an ostomy now for 12 yrs and I’m going to say just one thing. Please don’t use baby wipes. Even though they are fragrance free & hypoallergenic there are ingredients in them that break down the adhesive. If you do still use them, please rinse them well before using😊
Hi from Israel… I my ostomy for 6 months. And I am still crying and you are so right, the sport group s make me feel afraid all time. I wish I had one friend to just hug me and be with me. You are so sweet and I wish you much happiness . From far away…❤
@@sofiaalter5477 It will get easier and you will learn to love your ostomy. It probably saved your life and you will learn tricks and tips along the way. (((🤗))) hugs from the USA

I would talk to your surgeon's stoma nurse. It's not supposed to be that difficult.
