    I just got my Botox injections 3 days ago and although it’s still too early to say- I am pessimistic that it will work. I still feel the same and I feel so depressed over this. I was told to give it time, but when your in so much pain and when it’s affecting your bladder and bowel function it’s easier said than done. I am hoping for a miracle abs hope that it is just taking time to kick in but will eventually start showing improvement. Can anyone tell me how long they had to wait for some signs of improvement and if it eventually helped them relax the pelvic floor permanently in conjunction with pelvic floor therapy. If so how many cycles of Botox did you have to go through. I know Botox is a temporary fix, but is it possible to eventually permanently relax that muscle over time with therapy and injections. Please any response would be appreciated. I can’t believe this is the only video I found of a real life person experiencing the same thing.

    I've had my colostomy for 3 1/2 years and it was a big change. I didn't feel comfortable changing my own bag for months. I had a home health care nurse do it until one time it leaked and I HAD to do it myself. Ever since then it hasn't phased me. I change it in the morning before I eat because the minute I put something in my mouth, it starts doing it's job.

    In January 2024, I am scheduled for a Mona Lisa laser treatment, and my gyno recommends me to do Botox a long with it. My issues are fissures, reoccurring UTIs and yeast infections and it’s been a vicious cycle. I had a lot of treatments and hormone creams to help with the fissures but it does not cure it permanently. She recommends doing the Botox on the perineum area due to the tissue being super thin and reoccurring fissures. Honestly I’m scared to do the Botox down there, like what are the side effects? Can it negatively affect me long term? Or visually make it look different? I have been doing research and I came across your video. Thank you for sharing your experience and follow ups.

      @@mikeyvieira1016 - My original hypothesis was an achalasia (tightening) of the recto-sigmoid sphincter which is just above the pelvic floor region. After the botox didnt work I got a "functional MRI Defecography" performed where they record a short MRI video while you try to expel radio opaque gel. From that data I can see VERY clearly that stool is stopping at the rectosigmoid sphincter. Unfortunately this is still not considered a real thing by the medical community yet so i'm having a difficult time convincing my surgeon to inject botox into that sphincter to see if symptoms improve. Technically there is no official treatment for this condition because the medical community doesnt yet believe there is a sphincter at that location. This, despite numerous medical studies over the last 150yrs suggesting it is the primary continent mechanism. I have an in person visit with my surgeon this morning to present facts and logic in the hopes she'll concur with my findings and want to help. I'm not holding my breath. I'm probably going to need to find another surgeon....4 or 5 at the same time might speed things along 🤔.

    Have you done PT with the Botox? That may help make it last longer. PT with the botox has been more successful after my injections. I can't believe you get them while awake. My doctor sedates me! I'm tempted to try without the sedation but I am also really hesitant to do anything that sets off my nervous system and tells my muscles to start guarding again. I don't know if being consciously aware that it hurts makes a difference in that or not though. Obviously it causes painful senstions, I'm just not aware that it is happening.

      @@yvonnekneeshaw2784 yes, it is sedation that I wake up quickly. I still have to do all the same preparation as if going under general anesthesia though, which is annoying. It is basically the same sedation they give for colonoscopy and endoscopy.

      @FortheBudgies 10 месяцев назад

      @@LoveABun I am sedated during the procedure and my doctor gives me a nerve block that helps calm the discomfort for the first few days. She also gives my muscles relaxers and anti-inflammatory which really help. Plus the PT I've learned to do at home helps manage the discomfort. Plus breathing relaxation exercises work really well for me too. Unfortunately the relief is always temporary but fortunately I have some tools to get a break from it and reduce the severity. I have a lot of tools for reducing CPP symptoms but it takes up way more of my energy than it should.

    How did this go almost a year out? I've been having pt 2x a week since mine and the injections have made a huge difference in relaxing my pelvic floor. Its been about 6 weeks and symptoms have been constantly changing but generally getting better. Nearly pain free and bladder symptoms gone and post BM pain nearly gone too. My PT said that the muscles are really responding differently since the injections and she's really hopeful it will lead to permanent solution. Meaning that my pelvic floor will learn to calm the heck down now that I've had sugergy to remove what was causing problems for so long and we are now teachign the muscles to not guard all the time.

      Hello, no I didn’t have a wound vac, but I know that sometimes that is needed after this surgery. For getting into bed, I required help. I would stand at the side of my bed and have my top half of my body fall on its side onto the bed, while someone would grab my legs at the same time and lift them in. Doing it this way helped keep my body straight and made it so I didn’t have to sit, which helped greatly in my recovery.
