I have Ulcerative Colitis as well. I was diagnosed October 2014. I was 20 at the time of my diagnosis I’m now 26. My last colonoscopy showed that I have UC only on the left side of my colon.

Alexis Satterfield so we were very close in age of when we were diagnosed. That’s positive news from your last colonoscopy, I’m happy for you that it’s not through your whole colon!

I was diagnosed 4 years ago I lived in hell for 2 years but gaining weight again. Try to stay away from insoluble fiber when you are inflamed. Keep stress and sugar down too! Stress and sugar drives up inflammation and burns out the adrenals. Caffiene is a no go also. Its best to get toxic people out of your life and stay calm when you are bleeding. The bleeding can cause stress and the stress drops the immune system then the flare gets worse. It can be a cycle of misery. Deep sleep is very important also.

Chris, I am so sorry for the hell that you've lived through. UC is definitely no walk in the park! Thank you for your advice. I have really been trying to restrict my fiber, and I've been trying to do better with sugar too. Stress is hard to get rid of haha, I can definitely do better at trying to reduce that. I can tell that the stress has a bad impact on the UC.
