The second Reese did that, I knew this was going to happen. Honestly, I thought when Clark did it, it was a little much, but the polar opposite reactions was expected and disgusting. People can say "I'm not racist" all they want, but the actions are very telling.

To me it's like this. In the heat of a game, players talk trash. All part of the game. All is good. Give as good as you get. But when the final buzzer goes off, the game is over. One team will lose, one will win. This is where character and sportsmanship comes in to play. Winners should be gratious to the losers. The same as they would want to be treated when they lose. This is where Angel Reese crossed the line. Following around a player who just lost the game and taunting her incessantly is bad sportsmanship. A sign of low moral character. No way around it. IMHO.

A bunch of people who would have loved to talk about how a bunch of white girls beat down a bunch of black girls on the court. Strange how the narrative changed when proof was given how Catlin did this all year long to other black players and the media said nothing. Then the story was, well she did it in a classy way. If it was two black players these same white men in their feelings would have nothing to say. Yet throw a white one in the mix and all of a sudden its a thug vs Cinderella. If it was BYU where all the players were white, these white men would be nowhere to be found. The media preys on you low IQ, everything is racist only when the alleged victim is white clowns.

Reese's actions would have been a nothing burger if she had NOT followed Clark around doing the taunting. She did not just "do the thing" and move on to enjoy the win with her teammates...she followed her around, she intentionally taunted a player on the other team.
As for Raven Johnson... Clearly SC's game plan was to get the ball into the paint...and until they showed they could make the outside shots, the benefit would be better to go for the rebounds on missed outside shots where SC had the height advantage.
Steven A... You are making it a "race" thing...but you are overlooking the fact that Reese continued to follow Clark around the court with both of her gestures.

Ironically, Caitlin Clark initially made the "you can't see me" gesture to her former USA Basketball teammate and roommate, Hailey Van Lith, who is notorious for her trash talk. In fact, this is likely why CC told Hailey to shut up in the same game. Van Lith was interviewed before the game, and at that time, she said that any trash talk between them is "done in love." You know, kind of like MJ and Magic famously going at it in practice on the Dream Team in 1992. Why Angel Reese brought race into this, saying that she was standing up for girls who look like she does, has nothing to do with CC or anything CC did in her game with Van Lith. Personally, I did not like the way Reese taunted CC at the end of the game, but race never entered my mind when this occurred. I would have been equally disappointed if CC did the same thing to Angel if Iowa had won. And while many people were justifiably upset by those who brought racist comments into the conversation (I was upset by this too), I am sure that CC would have been attacked mercilessly if the roles were reversed, in which case race would have been the focus of the conversation in a very different way. The whole thing is unfortunate, as both of these players have been wonderful for the game, and this is what we should all be focused on.

@@sportsfantastic361 not even sure who raven Johnson is but I assume you’re talking about the girl she waved off that was on the 3pt line? If you’re comparing that to chasing a player around the court at the end of the national title game to brag about winning, then I’m sorry but those two situations aren’t even in the same ballpark

... it's so hypocritical, when Caitlin done-everything was fine. But the reason why Angel did it,is because she did it to other players.Anyone that plays ball, ESPECIALLY street ball, knows 'TRASH TALK' is a big part of it,you can gain an advantage if the other player can't handle it.. That's what Caitlin was doing when she waved the player off.The old adage...if you can't stand the heat, stay out the kitchen!..There was nothing wrong with Angel giving her a taste of her own medicine.Cograts Angel, and the LSU WOMENS BASKETBALL Team.

They were haters while winning and haters while losing. The coach talking about taking 40 shots a game while she averages 20.

Like you said there's a big difference between taunting someone right to their face, aside from that it's pretty equal but looks like the LSU player was more immature about it

Who absolutely gives a damn. Its competitors being competitive. Its rivalry. One moment people complaing how soft the game has gotten compared the old days, now we are complaining about non contact trash talk? Nah, we dont care

BS. Clark would have never, ever called Reese a "HO" the way Reese did on the freethrow line with 53 seconds left.
