- The adapters I used for the low-beams are here: amzn.to/33tZFh1
And these are the adapters for the high-beams: amzn.to/2F3QFG6
I didn't mention in the video--HID bulbs come in A and B orientation. For this vehicle, the correct bulbs for the low beam are H7B.
These are the LEDs that I tried: amzn.to/34HeZGu. They worked great, but in the end I went with the HIDs.
These are the HID bulbs I used: amzn.to/2F04vcp
Tips for Headlamp upgrades for you x164 or w164 Mercedes
GL350, GL450, GL550, etc.
I’ve got to do this myself and your video is going to help a lot. I’ve saved it and will report back after job is done. I think I’m going to go with the LED’s TY for the video.
Thanks for sharing! didnt know this. I did HID setup for the low-beams and LED seetup for the high-beams
I thank you for your detailed explanation of this ML bulb upgrade. I've got a 350 ML MBenz. The factory bulbs are exactly as you stated. The light is terrible. I ordered the clips. I'm just changing the low beams. I will let you know how it turns out. Thank you. MG
Excellent instructional video!
Best adapter video yet. I wonder if it is the same as the W166?
Thanks for the info! I'll order the led with the clips preinstalled, I ordered some clips from Amzn and it does not fit the led bulbs. Anyways, do you have any recommendation about the parking light LED replacements, I tried three sets from Amzn and all of them are blinking (errors). It does not look good if the parking lights are halogen yellow and the headlights are LED whites.
For the factory harness the brown n yellow wires which goes to the red n black on the hid kit?
Nice video. Great idea to take out the entire housing in order show the installation. Is is relatively simple to take the light housing out? If so, why not do this to install the new bulbs? On a RAM truck, the best way was to take off the grill and the light housings and replace the bulbs (LED) which should never have to be repeated. I am wondering if the ML350 has a similar (done once) process that would make it easier. Also I noticed that you chose LED for one beam and HID for the other. Was that just to show both processes? Doesn't it make more sense to go with LED or HID in both low and high beam? And you did not show (or need?) a ballast for the LED bulbs? I needed something like that in a RAM for the low beams to prevent flicker. Thanks.
P.S. I would go with the LED on replacement impact alone.
There are videos showing this process. Doable but not easy or simple. Depends on how mechanical you are and how much time you have. Good luck.
For the lasfit plug and play, is that Pro-MB2 Bulbs?
HIDs look brighter, could be due to lower kelvin temperature. LED looks nicer.
BTW, could you please share the LED bulbs link?
And did you get any errors with the LED?
Thanks.
Actually, the LEDs have a higher temperature. I didn't mention in the video--the HIDs are 4500K and the LEDs are 6500K.
Here is the link for the LEDs: www.amazon.com/dp/B07VSF45ZM/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_6b4xFbV2XK2T7
No canbus errors--they work great!
Hi, so the led will not fit in to the low beam without the adapter?
It's not really an adapter--it is a replacement for the OEM clips that come with the vehicle. The shape of the LEDs will not fit in the OEM clips so you need to get replacement clips.
@@danielzucker1259 I have the ML350 2012 vehicle and have found nothing but confusion about finding the right clips to go with LED lights for BOTH low and high beam. If you have any online references to parts, that would be appreciated.
Great video, do these LED still show message on the dashboard?
No error message--they work great. Which do you like better? Thanks for the comment.
which did you go with??
Nothing easy here, You are better off removing the headlight assembly.
No se ve una mierda
